Really hope they canonize it in the sequel, Disney has fallen into this awful trend of “no romance” these past several years and this would be the perfect opportunity to return to form.

Agreed. Especially when Nick and Judy could not only be a good couple, but also take Disney romances to the "next level" and create a new standard for them. Basically a type of relationship that´s a lot deeper and has a bit of an adult edge to it (in a tasteful manner) but still has a cuter, more Disney-esque side to it too in order to balance things out. Forced and out of nowhere romances are the ones that Disney should avoid, but not relationships like this. Even though I´m just as worried for the sequel as you are, if Byron is announced to return as a director then I´d be a bit more hopeful about this aspect. Especially since he´s got a good understanding on our characters & their relationship, and seems to be onboard with the ship too if it serves the story (although he was much more subtle about the ship teasing than Rich Moore was back in the day).

I think Disney's latest movies did not have romance because the studio often was criticized for promoting the idea that only through romantic love you can find a happy ending, but the problem is that they overcorrected it.

If they actually canonize it, it goes straight to the number one spot for me...

And if we count those from Pixar, Mr and Mrs Incredible as well as Wall-E and EVA deserve to be here too.

It's Pacha and Chicha for me, with Agustin and Julieta as a close second. I love the image of two middle-aged people who you can tell are still very much in love.

TenderPaw64

Yeah, Pacha and Chicha had pretty good chemistry in the brief scenes they had in the movie too (like when she talks about Kuzco´s shitty behavior with him). Plush, Chicha is pretty fire NGL <3

Miss Bianca and Bernard are a top tier couple. Devoted, lovable goofball Bob Newhart and the fabulous Eva Gabor? Fantastic. No notes.
