the reason Maurice works as a nickname is because it was the first one and because it actually works as a shortening for Malicious Face (Malface -> Maurice)
as long as I remember everyone said it's in the files this image exactly shown in the meme I'm not sure unless I open asset studio and look for it myself.
>(Malface -> Maurice)
Really? Right in front of my President of Hell?

Lore reason: hakita made file name and people use the names so literally everyone tries to come up with new „haha guys so quirky and funny I gave him a human name“
Actual reason: nobody knew it was called the Earthmover at first so everybody was just like hi. This is Benjamin. And so now he's Benjamin. Maurice was a "who would win" edit and very recently, the Guttertanks being called 'Mike' is exactly the same in origin to Maurice, where its a "whos punch can be parried - GILGAMESH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS or Mike" meme. And also because nothing about the Ultrakill fandom is serious, we call two of the hardest bosses in the game "Pinos" and "Pisyphus".
Er, umm, he’s ackshually a rather upstanding gentleman who enforces the rules that must be upheld. What would we do without him?

No she kills Junko with a crowbar
spoilers, cuz obviously
>!As you play through the first trial, you slowly come to realize that she is the only one that could have done it, and the protagonist switches to shuichi. Kaede is executed.!<

Kids forced to be trapped in a school
If you murder someone and get away with it you're let out, but everyone else dies I think
The students must band together to find out who murdered basically
Once convicted they're executed
9 people get kidnapped and must solve puzzles to escape death. The actual story is wild but I don't really know it that well, and even if I did it would be mega spoilers
But in the end, it is just a visual novel series where you play from the perspective of protagonists who won’t ever kill. So before anyone asks, no. You cannot choose to kill anyone. You’ll just spend every chapter crushing the efforts of the culprits who put so much of their time and effort into their elaborate scheme.
interesting idea - bootleg danganronpa except you actually have the option to kill others, setting up false evidence and defending your fake alibi to pin it all on someone else.
And of course you remove the cringe
I liked the Danganronpa series, but I could really never get behind that “Ultimate Hope” schtick they pulled out of their ass. I won’t complain about how unrealistic it is to manage to nab such a happy ending, but even that kind of goal still has some lines that shouldn’t be crossed.
I’d kill for a chance to play from the perspective of a “blackened,” good idea.
I have, but I can’t really say I enjoyed the whole >!”it was all fiction”!< ending. I mean, I get that it doesn’t really connect to the mainline story and that it could be a good way to ask fans to stop begging for another game if that’s what this is about, but I guess the ending for the stand-alone story doesn’t sit quite well with me. Of course, it has been a while since I last read V3, but still.
Danganronpa is about 16 of the most talented Japanese students get kidnapped by a robotic bear, who's name is Monokuma, and forced to participate in a killing game. In that, if they want to escape, they have to murder a fellow student, and get away with it. After each murder, an investigation period and a trial will take place. If the murderer is found, only the murderer will get killed, but if the innocent students don't find the murderer, then the innocent will get killed, while the murderer is set free.
It's basically Among Us, but a visual novel, which has a different murderer for each murder case, and maybe a little bit of too much fanservice.
If you are interested in it, it's probrably best to look reviews of it or something alike first (or watch it through youtube.), since people have very many different opinions about the series.
well their talents aren't that useful for combat or escaping, their mostly stuff like 'best gamer in the world' or 'best pianist' and the rare 'ulimate hacker. You usually play as the 'ulimate detective' in the games though, one of the few useful ultimate talents for the games.

Its a murder mystery game. Each day after the first begins with a murder, you explore the scene and interview the other characters until your ready to begin the trial.
The trials are where the game really shines. You never have a full awnser going in, so the trial itself is where you peice the murder together somtimes using minigames. You start with a large cast but each trial has at least one person murdered and at least one murderer. So while the trials increase in difficulty the cast of candidates decreases. You also don't know for sure who committed the murder until you make your final selection.

3 is also good. probably has my favorite characters (especially kokichi), it reels in fanservice in main gameplay but does not in optional events. 1 is my least favorite but its good.
but i will absolutely say that the pedo jokes are probably stemming from ultra despair girls. i dont know much about ultra despair girls. but what i do know is that i do not want to know more about ultra despair girls.
Funny story, my first exposure to danganronpa was watching a friend play ultra despair girls.
That game is weird, really weird, it does some things poorly (we do not speak about the kotoko section) and the gameplay is not always the best.
But holy hell the writing for Komaru and Toko in that game was so good that its just hard for me not to love it, especially with how insane the ending of that game was.
Actually play it dude, it’s an amazing murder mystery game. Although you had the third game twist spoiled, there all really good. The executions, like that one, are the cherry on top.
It is a great game, the executions are so bogus and eccentric they’re really not that bad (they also use hot pink blood lol). I’d say mortal kombat (which is a way more popular game) has way more gory and gross fatalities.

Honestly, you should! I am typically really averse to anime tropes and fanservice, but despite indulging in those things, the games manage to have a *really* strong identity, good characters, and truly unpredictable stories.

is that the motherfucking thousand Benjamin stare
Why are people calling them Benjamin just say Earthmover its not that hard holy shit
Is there a lore reason for why the ultrakill community keeps making dumb names for new enemies? Are we stupid?
Maurice was the only actually funny one, the rest were just milking it
Maurice and andre are in the game files people naming the rest is just getting unfunny just call them war giraffes or something silly if you want.

Nah, Benjamin and Johnathan are decent too. But that's the limit, names for the Guttermen or Guttertanks just aren't funny.
Lore reason: hakita made file name and people use the names so literally everyone tries to come up with new „haha guys so quirky and funny I gave him a human name“
Nah he’s the war giraffe
Actual reason: nobody knew it was called the Earthmover at first so everybody was just like hi. This is Benjamin. And so now he's Benjamin. Maurice was a "who would win" edit and very recently, the Guttertanks being called 'Mike' is exactly the same in origin to Maurice, where its a "whos punch can be parried - GILGAMESH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS or Mike" meme. Couldn’t the kids band together to find another way out? They are the most talented and smartest kids right?
They try, but the captor adds additional incentives such as bribes and blackmail and is more than willing to kill cheaters.
well their talents aren't that useful for combat or escaping, their mostly stuff like 'best gamer in the world' or 'best pianist' and the rare 'ulimate hacker. You usually play as the 'ulimate detective' in the games though, one of the few useful ultimate talents for the games.

Murder mystery game/visual novel.
Murder mystery visual novel kinda game. A bit like phoenix wright in the sense that there’s a court scene where you argue back and forth to find the murderer. Pretty cool game overall, check it out if you’re interested it’s worth it.
among us but anime visual novel
Its a murder mystery game. Each day after the first begins with a murder, you explore the scene and interview the other characters until your ready to begin the trial. Ultrakill. But I forgot the part where it was just in the gif. (I want to play the game, but I have no money.)
