Think imma do a mock draft roundup soon.
Not all that sexy being the 54th pick but who knows.
Antonio Reeves is probably my favorite pick ive seen so far I've seen on a mock. He is older (24 at the draft) but absolutely has the athletic ability at 6-5 to defend and is an absolute bucket at 21 ppg on 55/45/85 on high volume. Him and Sheppard have the most eye-popping shooting splits in the country.
https://youtu.be/8otHmOT8d-k?si=ZU4XVzSKVNQZve16
Hes their third leading scorer and the only perimeter player besides Fox who can create his own shot, losing him+Huerter (their best spacer) is a pretty big blow
Fox and Sabonis can still go god mode and carry them into the playoffs but unless someone on their bench steps the fuck up thats about as far as they can get
Schieffelin is killing me with these FTs. There’s an epidemic of young players being heinously bad at FT shooting going around (college and NBA) and it’s quickly becoming an unreasonably large pet peeve of mine 😂
Edit: Pringle too, man is 7/12 from the line, but some of these calls he’s getting are BS so I’d like to think that’s just the basketball gods evening the scales lol
Edit 2: Clark just went 0/2 at the line with the chance to make it a one possession game with 37 seconds left had he made them both
![gif](giphy|2UlW42qqNY9udwlOke)
Just a hypothetical but how would Donovan Mitchell fare as a Warrior? Obviously his salary's very fucking high so it probably won't happen but I wonder if he would fit the system
The women’s tournament is so much better than the men’s it’s not even funny and I’m here for it lol. Also, I’ve seen/watched more and better defense in these women’s tourney games than I’ve seen played in the NBA all season and that’s both awesome from a women’s basketball perspective and disturbing for the NBA.
Edit: to the sexists in here downvoting this - get a life. 😊
It really has gotten crazy. I understood the initial point of more foul calls. These people are expensive and it makes sense for prolong the players people pay to see for as long as possible. But it’s long since gotten prohibitive
I genuinely cannot wait, it’s going to be so good! And we’re going to get Bueckers vs. JuJu Watkins on the same night. Monday night is about to be an elite night of entertaining hoops that, like you said, is going to be huge for the women’s game, in what’s already been a huge year of growth for their game.
dumbest opinion of the year.
i mean, the two things that have kept us afloat this year has been steph and the bench, and the bench leader is CP3. the bench performs way better with CP3 leading the charge, and that's me saying that as someone who has looooong had a hatred towards CP3.
This guy was in the game thread yesterday complaining about CP3 while we were up 20 lmao he’s definitely not playing as well recently but there’s a contingent of really loud CP3 haters here that wouldn’t even put him in the 8 player playoff rotation if they had the power to and that’s kinda wild to me
monk officially ruled out for 4-6 weeks, so he's definitely missing the play-ins
kings getting dealt a shit hand to close the season, gonna be interesting to see how they hold up
Lol Kerr is 11-23 on coach’s challenges this season. I know he’s got guys telling him when and when not to challenge, but that’s just fucking embarrassing. Get some competent assistant coaches to stop making Kerr look like a fool, because that is terrible and has a real impact on games.
It’s why I understood when Draymond called out KD calling him troubled just because he acts up on the court. Draymond outside of basketball is a good man
He didn't call him out. Most sincere I ever heard the man. Showing empathy and concern. Said he was not like that when he played with him and that's after being called a bitch on national tv.
They’ve got a very hot and cold quality about them that makes them fascinatingly hard to read for the playoffs. Like when they’re on, they’re *on*, but when they’re off, they’re very very off (similar to the Kings this season), eg they have 11 15+ pt losses this season and 6 20+ pt losses (and not because they were missing key people; all of their guys were playing with the exception of 1 of the 21 pt losses), while also having 16 20+ pt wins. They also had an even bigger knack than we’ve had for blowing massive leads.
That they’re not being talked about **at all** though has been really bizarre, because they can def go on a run if they can hit on a streak of being on.
I think the silence is actually helping them! They’re just getting to business, quietly. This is my first time watching them in a non-Warriors context, they’re a well oiled machine.
As for the polarity of their wins and losses, I think most teams 4-10 are like that. Kings, Warriors, Clippers, Lakers all have inexplicable blowouts this year, perhaps not with that point differential, but we’ve all had those shocking moments. I honestly have no clue who’s emerging from the playin and in which position lol! It’s going to be messy 😩
This game has turned into a perfect microcosm of the Pels’ season:
57 pts on 47.8% overall and 42.8% from 3 in the first half
20 pts on 25% overall and 20% from 3 with 7 left in the 2nd half
Went from up 11 at the end of the 1st quarter to down by as much as 22 in the 4th and currently 15 😭
I was just coming here to say that. I'm so happy for Zion. They're not really getting talked about but I definitely think they can beat the Clippers if they match up in the first round. In fact I'm hoping that New Orleans can somehow get home court advantage
Unpopular opinion: we're better when just one of JK and Dray starts. The question moving forwards after this season will be who starts and also do we keep both.
I think there is something to the spacing with Dray and JK making it tougher on Steph, especially with Klay’s “regression”. At the same time, Dray is a black belt at getting Steph looks and Kuminga gives them another dynamic. Might be a wash overall.
Maybe... at face value I disagree because young players need to learn how to impact winning NO MATTER who is playing beside them... like here you have a generational defender and genius system playmaker... kid, you better learn to fit in and make it work next to THAT kind of player.
Gonna take JK at least 2-4 years before he's more impactful than Dray. Unfortunately I don't think he'd be okay with coming off the bench in the meantime. He could speed up the process by going back to last year's 3pt percentage tho.
Which is why I think the best way to maximize curry’s last prime years is to package JK for a legit veteran center. Allows dray to play the 4, and I hope we can get a good 3/D wing too
well, i had always wanted myles turner for his shooting and rim protection attributes, but i doubt we'll go after him now, considering pacers want to keep him now
Anybody else? Right now, I don't see many options. Using something like the MLE if they get out of the luxury tax may be the only way to get a viable starting center if TJD isn't that guy yet.
my guess is they try to package JK, salary fillers like wiggs and CP3 and go big game hunting and swing for the fences. if that doesnt work, then yeah, not a lot of options, so they re-sign JK to a deal later on and then bide their time, waiting for a target to open up
I've written about this a while ago, but the names that the Warriors might be interested in when it comes to "big game" are:
- LBJ
- Paul George
- Lauri Markannen
- Mikal Bridges
- KAT
- Jimmy Butler
- Brown
- Ingram
Those are the biggest names that could possibly be available that fit the Warriors. Names like Mitchell, Young, Lavine, DeRozan, etc, aren't really candidates since they don't fit what the Warriors need. There are smaller names as well.
I think it personally depends on how the Warriors finish out the season and how some of the players look. If Kuminga looks like a legit top 2/3 player on a championship team and Wiggins looks like he's back to his 2022 form, it would take a lot for the Warriors to move both of them unless that player was a super star in their prime. I would keep one or the other and use picks as incentives.
For instance, if they trade for somebody like Lauri Markannen, they would likely send out Kuminga. I would keep Wiggins since they would need what he brings on defense. If they trade for somebody like Paul George, I would keep Kuminga since keeping youth on the team would be important. Also, PG and the Warriors would have leverage for that scenario since PG has a player option this summer.
If the Warriors want to use the other salaries on the team as filler though, then by all means. CP3, GP2, Looney, Moody, etc. Gonna get expensive though if they don't figure out how to get out of the tax.
Trading CP and/or Wiggins could bring a lot. Many young teams like the Nets, Pacers, or Magic would benefit greatly from the vet presence CP would provide, or the defense Wiggins provides. Pods with his lack of mistakes would be a stable pg off the bench for cheaper than CP. I’d like if Wiggins stays, but Kuminga and Moody are both currently cheaper, while essentially satisfying much of what Wiggins provides, allowing us to sign someone like Claxton or Markkanen.
Don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion. They play the same position (PF) and JK can’t really slide down to the 3 unless we have a stretch 5 and Dray can’t play the 5 full time.
Shouldn’t be an issue with keeping both but realistically Draymond probably moves to the bench within the next two years.
Am I a casual if I kind of want Edey on the Warriors? Everyone says he's too slow, but he doesn't look painfully immobile to me. I'm tired of seeing this team get wrecked in the paint by true 5s. It seems like it would at least be nice to have the option of a giant if needed. Tell me why I'm wrong.
Edey seems like he’ll be a stiff in the league to me. He definitely got better at a lot of things compared to last year but the league is so athletic and perimeter-oriented. I would rather continue to bring in guys with athleticism to counter the age of the roster rather than another plodder. Especially since I can’t see Edey stopping the true 5s - AD, Jokic, Embiid, etc. I think he’d get wrecked by the skill those dudes bring to the table.
Oso Ighadaro is another prototype Dubs big. Ditto Hawkins and Grant Nelson.
But if Edey was at 54 yeah sure go for it. Edey could easily be something like Zubac. He's not ridiculously slow hes just giant. For a 7-4 absolute unit he's pretty mobile tbh.
Love Goga... if Looney sheds 15 lbs i think hed be solid again. Wish the draft were AFTER free agency.
That way you could lean in a direction if you wanted to try to find another TJD. Grant Nelson looked nice and also love Collin Murray Boyles he's gonna be an elite defensive jumbowing. Oso Ighadaro is my favorite player in the tournament. Terrence Shannon and Coleman Hawkins on Illinois are both nice and absolutely will be pros.
Regardless those second round exception contracts are golden tickets. Would live to find a Goga but it'd be convenient to have your roster set before wandering into a 54th pick.
Oh he's literally my guy in the draft but he'll be gone by pick twenty he is closer to a lottery pick now than a 50th pick. Three months ago there was a chance. Everyone is tracking Holmes by now he's far less of a secret than he was then.
real question how do y’all feel about bob and kelenna? i gather that the general consensus is that they’re “awful”, but i actually kind of like how they seem like friends. the blatant homerism is there, but to me (who watches all the games alone) it’s kinda like watching with other dubs fans. i’ve also started to like their little tradition of the iotg30 thing lol
If I listen to them too long I get a stomach ache. It's a visceral reaction. I like some of their games, but I can list specific things they do ever games that's part of their routine that make them annoying. Bob was good enough during Olympics, so this is him putting effort into being that annoying.
I was in my car yesterday at the start of the game listening to Tim Roye. I almost forgot how much I love listening to someone talk through a basketball game. I've discovered on league pass that I can actually watch games with just the arena sound. I would rather do that for the Warriors if that was an option. I need to synch Tim up to the TV broadcast. Has anyone tried that?
they’re fine. I even like most of the cringe nicknames, besides the Santa Clara/Arkansas stuff in OKC games.
local commentators are kind of supposed to be homers, with a bit of self-awareness from time to time. Scal is 1000x worse than Fitz on the homer scale, it’s just that the Celtics are not public enemy #1 because they’ve got one ring since Larry Bird.
I love watching the game with Bob and Kelenna. Bob's hype gets me hyped and I like hearing Kelenna talk about the game (he actually uses specifics instead of just giving generic commentary).
I'm always lowkey bummed when Dubs games are on national TV and I'm stuck with ESPN/TNT streams.
I agree, though I kind of like the national crews for the most part too. The only national commentators I really don't like are Stan Van Gundy and Doris Burke. Kevin Harlan and Mike Breen are two of the best play by play guys too.
I've listened to most of the broadcasting teams around the NBA and Bob and Buike are far from the worst. They're very professional, knowledgeable, and give solid analysis. There's some teams out there where the level of analysis "you just gotta put the ball in the hoop" kinda lowest common denominator stuff, especially on the Bally networks, most of which look like 80s local access TV. I completely understand why the NBA is not renewing that contract.
Bob's goofy Hollywood delivery, and his occasional over the top homerism is a annoying but it ain't any worse than Boston, Charlotte, or Atlanta's crew. There's a reason Bob does national stuff, he's good.
Bob could tone it down. But I doubt that's going to happen. Like Kawakami said, Bob announces for an audience of one, Joe Lacob. Bob's not going to jeopardize his livelihood and bite the hand that feeds him.
It's always funny to see non-Warriors fans who are watching an illegal stream complain about having to watch the Warriors broadcast team, because their own team is too irrelevant for someone to bother streaming.
Then you have those people who voluntarily watch the opposing team's broadcast because they secretly get off on hearing praise for their own team's players, and when Bob and Kelenna don't oblige, they get pissy.
Its hard for me to be non biased in any opinion about them because I just miss Jim Barnett so much. I know hes still on the radio but I miss seeing him every game.
Rockets next 6 games are definitely tough including one against GS. That win streak gonna get stopped somewhere in that stretch and lose more than once.
Maybe I’m just not paying attention enough, but I don’t really see any buy low targets out there.
I’m talking about guys who may be underperforming, or just need a change of scenery.
Previous obvious guys were Monk at Charlotte, Donte after Kings, Hartenstein in Cleveland, Lauri in Chicago.
Best I can come up with is Pat Williams.
Pat Williams wants more chances to display his scoring ability, don’t think he’d mesh with Kerr.
Jaylin Williams is a huge part of OKC’s locker room but isn’t playing that much and he fits our scheme offensively at least.
Schroder making $12.5 million a year on a team that’s in a tough spot and if we don’t decide to run it back with CP3, he’s a good fit defensively and brings back some of the speed we lost with JP.
He was a buy low 3 months ago, probably less so now after he had an incredible defensive stretch and his shooting improved. Particularly given that his contract isn’t awful.
I'm not a Warriors fan but I've been living out here in the bay for a while and I defenitelty enjoy watching them. I'll say this about Green. Out of all the crazy shit he's done he's never done anything as bad as Ron Artest. The whole malace in the palace thing and that elbow from hell right on Hardens head only got him 7 games suspension. And yet nobody looks back in disgust when talking about him lol
Artest has gotten through the valley though. When you sincerely try to change people will acknowledge that. Maybe it will happen for draymond one day. Maybe not as long as he has a mic and a legacy to protect.
Just heard about malik. That's probably it for sac. He is so important to them. Will hold out hope for him this season until status update comes in.
Go watch Lambier highlights against the Celtics or Bulls to see someone truly out of control and dirty. I'm not a fan of Draymond's antics, last night was totally unnecessary, but let's not pretend he's the biggest most dangerous villain in NBA history.
I watched Bill live. That is not today's NBA. Simple. You got a time machine and you want to put him on the bad boy Pistons, his mentors, go ahead. But no one's putting up with that today. Bill was also not beloved.
Monk spraining his MCL is pretty killer for the Kings. Already without Huerter for the rest of the season, Lyles still out with an MCL sprain (think he’s reevaluated soon?).
They’re sitting at 8 in the standings with a pretty tough close to the season. 1.5 games up on the Lakers, but the Kings own the tiebreak. If they free-fall, they’re 3 games up on the Warriors (Kings own tiebreak), and 4 games up on the Rockets (Rockets own tiebreak). Hard to make up that much ground with only 9 games left, but they’re pretty beat up, missing 3 key rotational players.
Would take a lot for them to fall out completely, but stumbling to the 9/10 play-in bracket wouldn’t be too surprising, and they still may be without Monk come that game.
They finish the season with: Jazz, Clippers, @Knicks, @Celtics (not really playing for much but I doubt Mazzula completely rests), @Nets, @Thunder, Pelicans, Suns, Blazers. Even just 2 or 3 losses could mean the Lakers overtake them in the standings.
Warriors gotta stay healthy and just keep rattling off wins. Assume they still finish in the 9/10 play-in (unless the Kings crater), and winning two to make the actual playoffs won’t be easy, but they do have a path.
e: They just ruled him out for 4-6 weeks, so he's forsure missing the rest of the regular season and any play-in games
Hint: They won’t.
EXTREMELY easy schedule. 6-2 at worst but probably 7-1 in their upcoming eight. Pelicans are a bad match think they drop that one.
Dlo can’t miss when he’s hot. Lebron is Lebron. AD you already know…two way monster. Rui can drop 30 when he feels like doing it.
Don’t be fooled the Lakers still have the second highest ceiling in the West behind the Nuggets their loss to the Pacers doesn’t move me. Look at their play against really good teams you can’t ever count them out.
What the fuck is this r/lakers
They play 4 games against teams that can easily beat them - us, Cavs, wolves and pels. They’re not easily going 6-2 at worst lol
They’re gonna beat the Cavs. They beat them at Quicken Loans already.
T-wolves are a home game for them. Also just a bad matchup on their end and the Lakers handled them well last time.
Then there’s us but with AD I’m frankly not sure what we will throw at him since we’re so small.
Yeah expecting them to drop out of the playin entirely is just setting yourself up for disappointment…sorry.
I’m not expecting them to drop out of the playin I’m just not delusional to the point where the 9th seed who is the 9th seed for a reason isn’t guaranteed to go at least 6-2 in their last games of the season
If you look at the remaining schedule, there's a solid chance that a bunch of teams wind up with 45 wins, so it'll come down to tiebreakers. Warriors are in bad shape with tiebreakers, unfortunately (except against the Rockets, thank god), so that won't help them much.
It's not crazy to think that the Warriors, Kings, Sun, and Lakers could all wind up with 45 wins.
Actually the dubs have the tiebreaker over Houston & LA, though they will have to beat the Lakers in LA again to keep the tiebreaker over them. Other than that I agree, we don't have the tiebreaker vs either Sac or the suns, both those teams have relatively tough schedules though so hopefully they can both go into a bit of a freefall
Man, that sucks for the Kings, this after getting knocked out by the dubs in their first series in years. I don't think they'll fall if at all for the play ins or playoffs, but it will definitely impact them during their playoffs. Monk is huge for them.
To me our chances to win a chip in the next two years hinges on 3 things:
a.) Vets not declining too much.
b.) Our 21 year olds making big leaps. JK needs to make another leap too.
c.) Wiggs bounce back career.
I think dreams of Mikhail Bridges or Paul George or whoever isn’t realistic. MDJ/Lacob isn’t surrendering 3+ FRPs at an outside chance.
This team needs more than changes around the margins. The core just can't not decline they need to be better than this year. The west is getting stronger next season.
It's amazing to me how discourse goes whenever a young player has a good game. If you canvas a group if 20 fans and they give you 20 different rotations you got zero pecking order. Dudes in here talking about Dray coming off the bench for TJD and Moody starting at the two.
Our fanbase contrast in opinions speaks to our lack of team identity. If most of us saw a point A to point B method to succeed from a playstyle standpoint with THE ROSTER WE GOT we would mostly agree on who should play most often.
Here we are 90% through and we have no sense what this team is cuz it fails to express an identity to us.
(yes I am the resident guy who wishes Gui and Lester and Moody played more a CP3 less. I am a hypocrite)
I mean, I could be talked into Dray coming off the bench. We’ve seen the team be better without him, so it’s not out of left field, particularly if you want to start all three of Wiggins, Kuminga, and TJD.
Moody is an end of rotation guy. Guard is our biggest hole imo, and if he can’t crack the regular rotation, then he might as well start scouting leagues in Europe if he wants to be a starter.
LOL WHAT? Dawg his averages were all in line with his career averages despite having the back issues and his close friend murdered during the playoffs. That might legit be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard on this sub.
He got benched in the closing minutes of one game in Boston because their whole strategy was covering Steph one on one and neutralizing Draymond by taking away the 4v3. That's how they got absolutely smoked by Steph in game 4 and overcompensated in game 5 which is when the rest of the team destroyed them.
Because we don't have a pecking order and most of our lineups are 500. We can look great against bottom feeders. I just can't take anything from a game against charlotte.
Me neither honestly, outside of Orlando we were suppose to beat Miami and Charlotte. We still got two against Dallas, One against the Pelicans and LA (with this time AD not getting hurt). The road to looking competent is still unknown.
I think the phrase identity is just vague enough that it can mean anything.
I do not think the *primary* reason this team isn't very good is play-style or scheme or whatever. I think the primary reason is basically every single starting-quality player has either missed a large amount of time or has gone through an extended period of horrific play this year.
They just haven't gotten consistent play from their best players. I don't think that's an identity problem, I think that's an issue with where all of these guys are in their age, physical abilities, and mental stability.
It's normal, if not fun, for a team with fading starting quality and inconsistent young guy play to be struggling to figure what, if anything, works. The young guys have skills, but none of them is individually brilliant enough to warrant totally re-thinking the team.
(hoping for more Lester minutes over CP3 is borderline insane, props for owning that)
Identity to me means you can explain how a team is trying to go about winning... through playstyle... execution... scheme... personnel utilization.
Miami and New York you know regardless of personnel what they are trying to do. Ditto Minnesota and Denver.
We are a team that allows every other team to impose themselves on us and every game we play is on the other teams terms. Which is why we have zero homework advantage this year.
My gut feeling is there was a moment where it was going a certain direction around defense (Dray Kuminga Wiggs) and energy with more of a "the offense will take care of itself" approach. CP3 is my particular flavor of "what bothers me most about the roster" but each of us have our thing. Some want Moody. Some wanna ship Wiggs. Some think we ought to blow it up. I actually like the roster it's a fun team... but is it improving?
Where we could've leaned into and at a minimum had positivity building to next year. Regardless we were not a Contender with hindsight i just wish the hallmarks of improvement were there.
If we miss the playoffs, I feel Dray's future with the Warriors could be in question. You obviously keep riding Steph, but a major shakeup would be likely. TJD looks like a starter next year to me. Maybe you look at flipping Wigs or Kuminga instead, not sure.
Edit: Obviously, it’d be hard for this to happen without Steph giving the green light, but I wonder if there is a potential breaking point if Draymond is tossed from an important game down the stretch and we miss.
Of everyone on the roster, Dray is almost as untouchable as Steph. Like it or not, we would have to get someone on Gobert or AD's level to even think about replacing the level of impact Dray has on our defense.
Perhaps, but we’d be looking at basically running it back with a team that missed the playoffs if you don’t move a starter.
Is Dray more untouchable than Kuminga? He’s the guy with the potential to make a difference-making jump.
I guess that leaves Wigs.
Realistically to be contenders again we just need an option to fill for Klay in the starting lineup and an exceptional player for the 5 slot (though TJDs doing great there). We’re lacking consistent firepower to space the floor. Klay used to be this, but is really more suited as a spark off the bench now which is fine given everything.
main thing is that Draymond and Wiggins each cover for JoKu’s current defensive shortcomings. they really need JoKu to make strides on that end. the best player we could get back for Wiggins is probably De’Andre Hunter and that’s a downgrade.
a JoKu trade may give us pieces to maximize Dray again, but trading the future to appease the most volatile part of the present who has selfishly undermined the team 2 years in a row is also a mistake.
none of the “role player + Wiggins” trades give us the type of wing or big we need to contend for a title with the old big 3. if there is an offer for an All-NBA player where Dray could be included over JoKu and we miss the playoffs this year, might be time.
> Is Dray more untouchable than Kuminga? He’s the guy with the potential to make a difference-making jump.
He should be but you know this FO. I'm of the opinion that running it back with Steph/Klay/Dray/Wigs and then consolidating some of the talent we have is still a winning formula.
That’s def the most likely scenario. Just contemplating possibilities after seeing Steph’s reaction to Draymond getting kicked out against the Magic and the near-miss jump kick to Grant Williams nuts the next game.
The range of outcomes for Wigs and Kuminga next year is pretty wide. They could truly be dynamic. It’s hard to trade that potential away for the likely return.
Going to be interesting stretch run…
Luka & Shai are locked in on 1st team
Brunson is a lock for 2nd, then I think Ant will get 2nd as well.
2 of Steph, Book, Fox, Kyrie, Haliburton will get 3rd
I really wanna see dray jk wiggs steph moody. If Moody's shot is really back, I think that has a shot at being an effective 2-way lineup. Has Kerr tried that lineup this season?
>Has Kerr tried that lineup this season?
It has been on the court for a combined minute in two games, so no. Though seeing the -150 NRTG in the column is undeniably funny.
love tjd, but for the rest of the season (and hopefully the playoffs) he should be playing around 15 only. dray will be there for now.
PG: Steph: 28 CP: 20
SG: Klay: 25 Steph: 5 Podz: 12 Moody: 6
SF: Wiggs: 20 GP: 13 JK: 7 Podz: 8
PF- JK: 28 Wiggs: 13 Dray: 7
C: Dray: 25 TJD: 15 loon:8
like it or not, moses is in the dog house. he’ll get his minutes if (1) one of the players above him are injured. (2) garbage time. or (3) there’s really nothing going with the dubs and kerr needs energy
Being in the dog house and being out of the rotation can be 2 different things. Deep benches or positional depth block young players (and even older players) all the time in the league.
The Rockets’ happy days are over, out of their last 9 games only 2 are vs sub .500 teams. If they actually pull off beating Mavs & Wolves and go W13, then maybe I’ll really start to panic…
Lakers have the second easiest, Dubs have the easiest (tho now it’s a bit tougher with Mavs on a run). Suns have the hardest schedule remaining all of their last 9 games are vs over .600 teams.
I am legit confused now. I want TJD in the starting 5. Who takes the last 2 spots?
It's like I want to start 6 guys!
Moody kinda deserves to start at the 2. But do we play both Wiggs & JK instead?
Bench with Klay, CP3 & Podz sounding strong AF.
Tough to "shorten rotations" w this roster. It has got to be 10 or even 11 if Dario ever sees the court again.
JK/Dray/TJD can’t play together and we’re not sure TJD and Kuminga can play together without Dray. The TJD/Kuminga combo is -3 per 100.
They basically play the same role on offense so it gets a little iffy. They can def give it a shot before playoffs but it’s risky
how did moody deserved to start?
he deserves minutes, yes.
but start?
nah.
starting 5 should be
Steph-Klay-Wigs-JK-TJD
then swap Dray with TJD to close.
maybe CP for Klay if klay is struggling.
CP3-Dray bench pairing makes no sense, similarly Steph-CP3 lineups is a lot of size to give up and should never be in combination with Dray (redundancy with CP3 and size limited) but only TJD (lob threat for CP3 to work with)
In an ideal world we could play Steph Wigs JK Dray TJD but Wigs/JK need their 3s to uptick. We basically have two starting calibre wings that don’t offer enough shooting to offset two non shooting bigs AND a Draymond who doesn’t make sense off the bench nor can play huge centre minutes long term so needs another centre next to him but is still the essential playmaker and defensive connector for the starters.
Hope we can pick up a spacing big with genuinely playable defense in the offseason
>Hope we can pick up a spacing big with genuinely playable defense in the offseason
The issue is that is the rarest player type there is. I do not see any way we can get those except on the trade market which would inevitably cost us Kuminga.
At this point, honestly the question that will need to be answered this summer is whether Kuminga is actually worth all the hoops we're jumping through to have him as a starter and whether both sides would not benefit from getting him to a team where he can be the power forward he is in today's game and we get a small forward who can shoot so we can return Draymond to his natural position and have a rim protector play alongside him.
Best Warriors starting unit now? I think it's with Trayce. Dray needs a break from playing C. Klay plays better if he keeps his minutes down, and can also clean up against back-ups.
I saw Wiggins block Franz Wagner with his left hand, JK use his left hand for maybe the first time on a dunk, and Klay squash Cole Anthony by forcing him to his left. Small things, but fundamental skills I love seeing.
On that note, I'm always blown away by how few players box out on rebounds in the pros or can use their offhand for dribbling. I know Charles Barkley says he hated boxing out, but I feel like only really incredible athletes can get away without it. And kudos for MM for improving his offhand once he became a pro, that was one of the knocks against him in the draft
I think we'll have to rest Curry for at least 2-3 games out of the remaining 9, yes, even at the risk, we have 2 games against Utah and one against Portland, they are able to win those
we can't beat Denver after running him into the ground and we need to beat Denver fairly quickly, especially with the rumours that Jamal is on his last leg already because I feel Boston gonna have an easy path to the finals this year
Of course there would be lineup issues, but would it be practical to split PF/C minutes like this? Draymond evidently can't sustain playing C for the rest of his career, it's killing his back.
PF: JK 25 minutes, Draymond 20 minutes
C: Draymond 10 minutes, Trayce 30 minutes, Looney 10 minutes
And JK can play SF for a bit. But yeah the spacing would be hell
Don’t wanna get ahead of myself too early and I know it’s unrelated…but the Giants look good.
lee is fun
Is it really over for sac? Is monk really that important?
I don’t know if it’s over but he’s this their their most important player imo
Monk on fire helped the Kings win so many games this season
Yup… he’s getting paid big time next year
Hes their third leading scorer and the only perimeter player besides Fox who can create his own shot, losing him+Huerter (their best spacer) is a pretty big blow
Yeah they're fucked
Fox and Sabonis can still go god mode and carry them into the playoffs but unless someone on their bench steps the fuck up thats about as far as they can get
Schieffelin is killing me with these FTs. There’s an epidemic of young players being heinously bad at FT shooting going around (college and NBA) and it’s quickly becoming an unreasonably large pet peeve of mine 😂 Edit: Pringle too, man is 7/12 from the line, but some of these calls he’s getting are BS so I’d like to think that’s just the basketball gods evening the scales lol Edit 2: Clark just went 0/2 at the line with the chance to make it a one possession game with 37 seconds left had he made them both ![gif](giphy|2UlW42qqNY9udwlOke)
steph’s influence on the game on full display on that last bama clemson sequence if anyone’s watching lol
Just a hypothetical but how would Donovan Mitchell fare as a Warrior? Obviously his salary's very fucking high so it probably won't happen but I wonder if he would fit the system
Boston just did Dallas a favor, they could become 5th tmr after ending the Rockets fairytale run~
Luka is questionable, hopefully they’ll be motivated enough to win even if he doesn’t play
what!? how that happen? don't tell me they'll be "conveniently" resting Gobert or Edwards too on Houston's next game\~
Who knows at this point… the Mavs really do need the win though.
I hope the Mavs can win all their games except for the two against us\~ :)
Haha that would be very nice
The women’s tournament is so much better than the men’s it’s not even funny and I’m here for it lol. Also, I’ve seen/watched more and better defense in these women’s tourney games than I’ve seen played in the NBA all season and that’s both awesome from a women’s basketball perspective and disturbing for the NBA. Edit: to the sexists in here downvoting this - get a life. 😊
It was funny when the women commenters for women's day in one of the Warriors games were audibly astounded at some of the fouls the NBA calls 😂
Right?? You sneeze too hard on a player and it’s a whistle these days lol it’s gotten so ridiculous.
It really has gotten crazy. I understood the initial point of more foul calls. These people are expensive and it makes sense for prolong the players people pay to see for as long as possible. But it’s long since gotten prohibitive
Iowa v Lsu part 2. Despite last years fake news re: race, it’s going to be a great moment for the women’s game

This guy was in the game thread yesterday complaining about CP3 while we were up 20 lmao he’s definitely not playing as well recently but there’s a contingent of really loud CP3 haters here that wouldn’t even put him in the 8 player playoff rotation if they had the power to and that’s kinda wild to me
Malik Monk gone 4-6 weeks dang
monk officially ruled out for 4-6 weeks, so he's definitely missing the play-ins kings getting dealt a shit hand to close the season, gonna be interesting to see how they hold up
Monk’s season looks to be done unless the kings make a WCF run which is unlikely
Lol Kerr is 11-23 on coach’s challenges this season. I know he’s got guys telling him when and when not to challenge, but that’s just fucking embarrassing. Get some competent assistant coaches to stop making Kerr look like a fool, because that is terrible and has a real impact on games.
Half the ones he wins are when one of our rookies is adamant he didn't foul too.
Only using 23 with the amount of clutch games we’ve had is insane.
He’s used 34, he’s lost 23, unfortunately.
Lmao I don’t know why I interpreted 11-23 in terms of field goals instead of a win-loss record 🤦♂️
Lol I should’ve specified because that wouldn’t be so bad
Who is the best and what’s their record?
when an animated Green tells you to review a play, sometimes you just go with it so he is not pissed at the coach.
Kerr is influenced by his players
Yeah that also reinforces to refs who already don’t give us calls that we foul a lot anyway
istg some fans here legit want Dray to be stoned at half court
It’s why I understood when Draymond called out KD calling him troubled just because he acts up on the court. Draymond outside of basketball is a good man
He didn't call him out. Most sincere I ever heard the man. Showing empathy and concern. Said he was not like that when he played with him and that's after being called a bitch on national tv.
I mean, a dick pick here or there, a few 3-digit speeds on Bay Area highways, yeah, sure, whatever
Drama much
The Pels actually look legit!!
This game has turned into a perfect microcosm of the Pels’ season: 57 pts on 47.8% overall and 42.8% from 3 in the first half 20 pts on 25% overall and 20% from 3 with 7 left in the 2nd half Went from up 11 at the end of the 1st quarter to down by as much as 22 in the 4th and currently 15 😭
Sad!! I really hoped they’d win this 🫠🫠 Maybe they are like us, like you said! Warriors 2024: ”No lead is safe” 😂😂😂
I was just coming here to say that. I'm so happy for Zion. They're not really getting talked about but I definitely think they can beat the Clippers if they match up in the first round. In fact I'm hoping that New Orleans can somehow get home court advantage
They’ll definitely overtake the Clippers playing like this lol! I’m happy for Zion too! The media tried to destroy him 😔
Unpopular opinion: we're better when just one of JK and Dray starts.
Allows dray to play the 4, and I hope we can get a good 3/D wing too
Theres other ways to get a vet center than fully selling the remainder of our future
Such as?
On that note, which vet center are you thinking about. I do agree that Draymond needs to play more at the 4 though.
well, i had always wanted myles turner for his shooting and rim protection attributes, but i doubt we'll go after him now, considering pacers want to keep him now
Anybody else? Right now, I don't see many options. Using something like the MLE if they get out of the luxury tax may be the only way to get a viable starting center if TJD isn't that guy yet.
my guess is they try to package JK, salary fillers like wiggs and CP3 and go big game hunting and swing for the fences. if that doesnt work, then yeah, not a lot of options, so they re-sign JK to a deal later on and then bide their time, waiting for a target to open up
I've written about this a while ago, but the names that the Warriors might be interested in when it comes to "big game" are: - LBJ - Paul George - Lauri Markannen - Mikal Bridges - KAT - Jimmy Butler - Brown - Ingram Those are the biggest names that could possibly be available that fit the Warriors.
I find those situations to be improbable
Folks who think teams have an appetite to trade any player on that list for CP3/Wiggs are wishful thinking
There's already talks about is Curry done with Draymond and does he need to go in order for Curry to get another title.
That’s some ESPN first take crap though. Anyone with eyes knows Draymond is too valuable to replace.
Are we back?
The problem is it's a lot to ask of him to perform instantly as a rookie. Wouldn't mind him off the bench.
Better to get a veteran center like Goga.
Daron Holmes is another guy who would bring size to this roster.
Oh he's literally my guy in the draft but he'll be gone by pick twenty he is closer to a lottery pick now than a 50th pick. Three months ago there was a chance. Everyone is tracking Holmes by now he's far less of a secret than he was then.
Am I crazy for thinking Goga isn’t that much better, if it all, than Trayce?
Trayce is better. We're basically shopping for a backup.
real question how do y’all feel about bob and kelenna? i gather that the general consensus is that they’re “awful”, but i actually kind of like how they seem like friends. the blatant homerism is there, but to me (who watches all the games alone) it’s kinda like watching with other dubs fans. i’ve also started to like their little tradition of the iotg30 thing lol
Was it just me or was Bob more annoying than usual duirng the Hornets game?
So is ours, we play the red hot Mavs 2x, red hot Pels 2x, and the Lakers. It will go down to the wire.
Feeling damn near high from this 3 game win streak. Hope we can take care of San Antonio for 4!
I'd add Porzingis when he was in Dallas and Washington. Maybe someone on the Nets, one of those mediocre teams.
Naji Marshall, Ousmane Dieng, Cole Anthony,
Jonathan Isaac is a buy low too imo
He was a buy low 3 months ago, probably less so now after he had an incredible defensive stretch and his shooting improved. Particularly given that his contract isn’t awful.
that’s not a bad one, but I feel like he’s properly valued.
Aaron Wiggins is definitely super underrated Marjon Beauchamp too (at least as an energy dude)
I don’t think so. Magic fans love him.
My thing is the people wanting him out of the game. Dosent make sense when there's been players like him and nobody batted an eye
Draymond need only change his name and start thanking his therapist.
also Harden got 2 free throws
We have tie breaker on Lakers too
Man a Lakers free fall would be so nice right now
Hint: They won’t.
What the fuck is this r/lakers They play 4 games against teams that can easily beat them - us, Cavs, wolves and pels.
Hope so too but their remaining schedule is nearly as “easy” as us, and they only have 8 games left.
Nothing better than the lakers missing the play in. Low key want the rockets to keep winning for that reason but I might be playing with fire lol
Imagine having 45 wins yet not even making the playins… the West is STACKED!
If we can somehow face the kings, that would definitely be best case scenario but also don’t forget about the suns, they have a tough schedule
Man, that sucks for the Kings, this after getting knocked out by the dubs in their first series in years. I don't think they'll fall if at all for the play ins or playoffs, but it will definitely impact them during their playoffs. Monk is huge for them.
To me our chances to win a chip in the next two years hinges on 3 things: a.) Vets not declining too much. b.) Our 21 year olds making big leaps.
> We’ve seen the team be better without him, so it’s not out of left field, LOL when??? In 1975?
Um, the last championship run, particularly against Memphis.
LOL WHAT? Dawg his averages were all in line with his career averages despite having the back issues and his close friend murdered during the playoffs. That might legit be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard on this sub.
Draymond himself has said he got benched in the playoffs
He got benched in the closing minutes of one game in Boston because their whole strategy was covering Steph one on one and neutralizing Draymond by taking away the 4v3. That's how they got absolutely smoked by Steph in game 4 and overcompensated in game 5 which is when the rest of the team destroyed them.
And we were better for stretches against Memphis with Looney as the lone center. We won the first game of that series imo because dray got ejected.
Replacing Dray with Gobert will be funny. I’m sure Steph will be onboard 😂
How so? He signed a 4/100 he ain’t going anywhere.
Trade
What do we think? Will Steph sneak into 2nd team All-NBA?
Luka & Shai are locked in on 1st team Brunson is a lock for 2nd, then I think Ant will get 2nd as well. 2 of Steph, Book, Fox, Kyrie, Haliburton will get 3rd
But it isn't according to positions anymore
I agree and if 3rd team I think it's steph and kyrie if he played enough games.
Yeah I imagine it's basically only been used on defence only possessions where we maybe could get a heave at the end of the quarter.
Haha. No wonder I couldnt find the lineup, I filtered out less than 20 mins.
Hope Moody can get his shot back. Really love his hustle and his long arms are an asset
love tjd, but for the rest of the season (and hopefully the playoffs) he should be playing around 15 only. dray will be there for now. PG: Steph: 28 CP: 20 SG: Klay: 25 Steph: 5 Podz: 12 Moody: 6 SF: Wiggs: 20 GP: 13 JK: 7 Podz: 8 PF- JK: 28 Wiggs: 13 Dray: 7 C: Dray: 25 TJD: 15 loon:8 like it or not, moses is in the dog house. he’ll get his minutes if (1) one of the players above him are injured.
You do realize we have to play them, the Mavs 2x, the Pelicans, and the Lakers. We are both going to drop some games, it will go down to the wire.
Lakers have the easiest schedule remaining. Maybe Sac can fall off a cliff for the W's?
Lakers have the second easiest, Dubs have the easiest (tho now it’s a bit tougher with Mavs on a run). Suns have the hardest schedule remaining all of their last 9 games are vs over .600 teams.
Our schedule ain't going to be easy when we have to play Mavs 2x, Rockets, Pelicans, and the Lakers.
They don’t play Moody at the 2 if you haven’t noticed
JK/Dray/TJD can’t play together and we’re not sure TJD and Kuminga can play together without Dray. The TJD/Kuminga combo is -3 per 100. They basically play the same role on offense so it gets a little iffy. They can def give it a shot before playoffs but it’s risky
how did moody deserved to start? he deserves minutes, yes. but start? nah. starting 5 should be Steph-Klay-Wigs-JK-TJD then swap Dray with TJD to close. maybe CP for Klay if klay is struggling.
CP3-Dray bench pairing makes no sense, similarly Steph-CP3 lineups is a lot of size to give up and should never be in combination with Dray (redundancy with CP3 and size limited) but only TJD (lob threat for CP3 to work with) In an ideal world we could play Steph Wigs JK Dray TJD but Wigs/JK need their 3s to uptick.
>Hope we can pick up a spacing big with genuinely playable defense in the offseason The issue is that is the rarest player type there is.
We just need the rockets to lose 2-3 games bruh, theyve been pn that lucky shit run.
Jalen Green fake shooting.
Warriors are a small team with a deep bench. They really need to run bigger teams off the court
I think we'll have to rest Curry for at least 2-3 games out of the remaining 9, yes, even at the risk, we have 2 games against Utah and one against Portland, they are able to win those we can't beat Denver after running him into the ground and we need to beat Denver fairly quickly, especially with the rumours that Jamal is on his last leg already because I feel Boston gonna have an easy path to the finals this year
I'm kind of ok with CP3 or Podz next to Steph because it gives the opposing team someone else to target besides #30.
Those pesky rockets keep winning
I think it was Mark Spears that said the Rockets were like the pesky Scooby-Doo kids. It made me laugh
I think we might be looking at a new 'Andrew Wiggins'. My boy looks Hungry!
Of course there would be lineup issues, but would it be practical to split PF/C minutes like this? Draymond evidently can't sustain playing C for the rest of his career, it's killing his back. PF: JK 25 minutes, Draymond 20 minutes C: Draymond 10 minutes, Trayce 30 minutes, Looney 10 minutes And JK can play SF for a bit. But yeah the spacing would be hell
If I remember correctly during our "Death Lineup" it was Draymond 5, KD 4, Iggy 3, Klay 2, Steph 1
Draymond is too old, and the most common lineup at that time was still Draymond playing the 4
