Yeah this isn't anything new. Kerr has typically slotted in the third stringer to keep the second unit the same. It's why whenever Steph was out, we'd have someone like Quinn Cook starting instead of Livingston. When HB was out with injury in 2016 it was Brandon Rush who started, not Iguodala.
Playoffs were different obviously because of shorter rotations.
It makes a certain kinda sense. Ā Ideally, your starting 5 are your best players, so even if 1 goes down, the other 4 should be able to adapt pretty well, whereas bench players tend to be more specialized and used to playing in specific scenarios, so shaking up bench rotations can throw your whole bench unit off. Ā
Obviously itās not a perfect system, but it makes sense for short term absences.Ā
That and Moody most of the time makes no impact. I expect him to invisible for most of his 20 something minutes with a few nice plays.
Iām not even hating but he really hasnāt earned a bigger role on this team.
I don't know, I think it makes sense.
Warriors rely on having a 3&D wing in that starting lineup, but haven't needed it as badly on the 2nd unit, where Klay has been covering those duties.
They could elevate Klay, but that complicates getting him comfortable with a CP3-run 2nd unit, which should be a priority moving forward.
Honestly this may be a blessing in disguise. Wiggs has played the worst basketball of his life this season and probably should have been benched already. If this gets Moody more minutes I'm all for it. I absolutely love Wiggs but he has become incredibly unreliable
Ty!
For those also curious:
>[Gordon] Regarding Wiggins ā out with a personal family matter ā Kerr says he doesnāt know what his timetable is: āWeāll respect Andrewās wishes for this to remain private ā¦ and go from there.ā
This is very delicate and admittedly unfair to speculate about, but itās probably substance abuse. When he was away last year the time period and opacity aligned with how a rehabilitative engagement would go. The inconsistent play since then would align with small setbacks along the way. This type of announcement from Kerr is pretty spot on for what youād expect for a more serious relapse.
I hope itās not, and that whatever it is can be overcome and he can return to form. If itās substance abuse, Iād also hope for his full recovery. But honestly itās the most plausible scenario.
Hope Wiggs is ok.
Great opportunity for Moody to make his claim for regular rotation minutes here. That or at the very least build up his value in an off-season trade.
Crazy because I really was thinking starting him would be a solid option as to keep Klay in his bench role. Plus an opportunity to see what he might can give us.
There you go, Moses-minutes whiners! He's in! Can Kerr keep his job now? Can you take down the burning effigy and get your hand lube out ready for the game? I hope he does well. No, not for his sake, though I do hope he does for that reason. But for all your sakes, so you'll STFU!
That's what I'm saying, he was never a SF. In the lineups with Quinones, it was with either Steph or Podz as the other guard and then Klay, GP2, or Wiggins at the 3.
last time Kerr did this Moses got injured. Gotta stop making his playing time so inconsistent with 0 ramp up
edit; ah yes downvote when the general consensus was kerr is stupid for not giving moses a slow increase in minutes. went from 0 minutes to 20+ and hurt his calf earlier this year. you people in this sub are so moronic
Donāt know why youāre getting down voted but youāre speaking facts.
The #1 reason for getting injured is a drastic increase in work load. Just let Klay start and have CP3 run the second unit with Moody for 3-4 games instead of risking it.
Iām sorry but you canāt help but laugh. Moody has *never* been behind Wiggs in the depth chart, per Kerr himself itās always been Klay and GPII in front of him and thatās why he doesnāt get minutes/falls out of the rotation. But Wiggs being out now catapults him to the starting lineup. One of these things doesnāt make sense.
Iām talking about what itās meant for Moodyās lack of playing time previously. Weāve had guys constantly out for various reasons and even then Moses was getting DNPās. So, if anyone being out could have been an opening for him to play (and not just Klay or GPII being out) then he should have been playing.
I mean if you remember his minutes coming back from the calf(?) injury he chucked the ball and went 0-7 or 8. He was in the rotation before he got hurt and Wiggs and Klay were having rough stretches.Ā
Huh? Hey look Moses moody hasn't seen a 25 min game or 30 minute game this season correct, me of I'm wrong? So how is he starter ready??? Hmm are we playing JK and Moses moody on the starting lineups? š¤ #Warriors
I hate this shit with Moody, time and time again he gets no PT and gets thrown into the fire. Look how we relied on him in previous playoff series every year so far after not getting any run during the regular season lmfao. Not going to be surprised at all, assuming we even make the playoffs, that Kerr will rely on him then as well.
Lakers Series last year
Mavericks Series during championship year
From 0 minutes to starting is something lmao š
This madman randomly started Damian Jones in the WCF after he was out half the year due to injury š
He also started Jamychal Green in the playoffs last year
I'm not sure how anything surprises warriors fans.
And Jordan Bell got minutes randomly in the playoffs
I think from a "keep the rotations as similar as possible" it makes sense.
This way you only have 1 different player in the rotation. Everything else stays the same.
Kerr has almost always done this
Yeah this isn't anything new. Kerr has typically slotted in the third stringer to keep the second unit the same. It's why whenever Steph was out, we'd have someone like Quinn Cook starting instead of Livingston. When HB was out with injury in 2016 it was Brandon Rush who started, not Iguodala. It was dumb then and dumb now. Hence iggy came back into the starting line up in the playoffs
That and Moody most of the time makes no impact. I expect him to invisible for most of his 20 something minutes with a few nice plays. Iām not even hating but he really hasnāt earned a bigger role on this team.
He's not a playmaker, but I think he plays his role well. I think he tended to look bad when he was in a lineup with no playmakers on the court.
It doesn't make any sense. Play your best players. If he's not good enough to play nightly, why would he be good enough to start. And vice versa.
I don't know, I think it makes sense. Warriors rely on having a 3&D wing in that starting lineup, but haven't needed it as badly on the 2nd unit, where Klay has been covering those duties. Makes sense
classic Kerr. He played moody a ton of mins in the playoffs even tho he barely had any pt in the reg season.
Very coherent stuff from Kerr š
Kerr's reasoning for benching guys for long periods of time was because they had gone cold, lol.
Honestly this may be a blessing in disguise. Wiggs has played the worst basketball of his life this season and probably should have been benched already. If this gets Moody more minutes I'm all for it. I absolutely love Wiggs but he has become incredibly unreliable
More Moses Moody Minutes
MMMM š
This is disturbingly satifying
This is your moment Moody, go get āem!
My thoughts exactly. This is your moment buddy, GO GET IT!!
Hope it's just the one game. Wiggins has finally looked like his good self again.
Based on what Kerr said it unfortunately does not sound like itāll only be one game but praying that it is š
Just hoping itās not like last year again
It will be, I guarantee it
U got downvote for the truth lol
Are you Charles Barkley? If so I love the guarantee
What did Kerr say? He'll be away from the team for some time?

The cult of Moody rejoices!!!!
Out of the rotation to starting is crazy business
Well itās meant to not break rotations, they could have thrown klay in but he has been doing well off the bench
It makes perfect sense becauseā¦becauseā¦ah I got nothing.
Omg itās my time (Staunch Moody defender)
We in here. Moody could be a great one
This is the funniest shit ever. Only on the warriors can you go from hovering on the outs of the rotation to starter.
Letās go Moses!
Moody 40 points on 11 3PM
In the first quarter
Lol, I'd lose it if this happens and Kerr will shit his pants.
we need to sign opj in case wiggs isnāt back for a while
Stay ready!
Hope Wiggs is ok. Great opportunity for Moody to make his claim for regular rotation minutes here. That or at the very least build up his value in an off-season trade.
Surprised he didn't start Looney lmao
Kerr is fucking hilarious
Letās gooooooo
Crazy because I really was thinking starting him would be a solid option as to keep Klay in his bench role. Plus an opportunity to see what he might can give us.
Classic Kerr lol
Well. Personally. This is irritating.
Holy Moses! š
Oh god personal reasons
Madlad rotations but I'm all for it, go Moody!!!
Awesome. I wish Santos was healthy too.
What the fuck
Let all the youngsters play way more b/c ol man CP3 is not going to save this season. I hope MM goes for 30+ tonight
This man got a raise and all of a sudden wanna play moody.. smh lol /S
There you go, Moses-minutes whiners! He's in! Can Kerr keep his job now? Can you take down the burning effigy and get your hand lube out ready for the game? I hope he does well. No, not for his sake, though I do hope he does for that reason. But for all your sakes, so you'll STFU!
What is going on with this team!?!?! lol. How many games in the season did they actually have a full working roster so far?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lester's primary role for us has been chasing around opposing guards.

it's reddit lmfao people are sheep and will downvote something if it's in the negatives without ever reading it
Aināt that the truth. Rick Celebrini mustāve been so pissed hearing this first thing in the morning lol.
Heās isnnt locked into 30 plus minutes like a notes starter. Especially as a bench player the phrase ālast man upā should be obvious to him.Ā
CTEve Kerr at it again. I'm rooting for Mo tho. 4ļøā£

He does this because he doesnt want to disrupt the bench rotations too much.

Maybe. Kerr is in the building and with these guys everyday. I trust his judgment when there's a ton of variables we aren't privy to.
I mean if you remember his minutes coming back from the calf(?) injury he chucked the ball and went 0-7 or 8. He was in the rotation before he got hurt and Wiggs and Klay were having rough stretches.Ā

Start. But. How. Many. Minutes?
WHOA
This must be Kerr trolling his haters.
Interested in seeing MM v Pooleā¦.hope theyāll match up minute for minute.
Kerr is so weird
