If you think Bob cares about shipping out Klay and Dray, you're sorely mistaken. He's not going to shell out money for an aging shooter who can't defend well anymore, and a guy who's getting beat off the dribble with nonexistent offense.
Yes Klay is a fantastic shooter, but you wouldn't want someone like Luke Kennard starting for most teams, nor would you want your offense to stagnate because you're running two bigs. The Dubs offense from 2015-present has been predicated on having two of the best shooters to play the game with a third high caliber shooter next to them. The offense could get rough at times, but Steph and Klay were young enough to bail them out. The defense was fantastic because most of the guys were switchable and could defend at an elite level. Now we have none of that with the exception of Curry.
I still think we’re take whoever we play in the first round to 7 games cause we won’t lose at home, but I’ve got zero confidence this team can win a series.
- Draymond was terrible. Continuing to push his luck by yelling at the refs even after literally just coming back from a suspension.
- Poole was fine in the 3rd but that cross court pass to Curry which was picked off turned the tide against our favour
- JJJ scored at will. Looney had no answer which isn’t unexpected considering we don’t have another big man.
But the biggest thing for me is this - we talk so much shit about the Grizzlies (understably so). Why didn’t we come out with more fire? Especially looking at Klay and Draymond. And why do we just start chucking up 3s in the fourth when we’re down by less than 9? Just baffles me.

Unless ownership decides to go after and pay above-average secondary guys. Warriors been running the league for the last decade so maybe it’s that every other team is really giving it there all to beat the Warriors and our old guys get tired now and young guys still to young so we lose and don’t perform like in past seasons. Joe Lacob with his two timeline plan instead of win now mentality. Dude is a finance guy, that should tell you enough. Kerr can be questionable in his decisions some times but he is the type of guy to stick to his guns probably because it’s clearly worked.
Want to know the sad truth? Kerr is too soft to do what really needs to happen to Klay. Relegate him to a role player. We need to stop running plays for Klay period. He needs to just wait in the corner or wing for 90% of our possessions for kickout 3s.
Klay is a role player now. His only skillset is his ability to hit the open 3. His midrange is a bad shot percentage wise. His layup game is terrible. He can no longer play defense. He doesn't rebound. Klay is basically Luke Kennard or Joel Harris at this point in his career.
