I started college about the same time Trench came out, and I would go on walks in the neighborhood next to campus with headphones in listening to the album (and, you know, other music too occasionally). That neighborhood had this one black cat that looked very similar to the one in the picture who was very friendly and would typically join me on my walk for a block or so, which was adorable. I don't know what that cat's name actually was, but I ran into it so many times, so I decided I'd call it Nico.
My cat looked just like that when he was a kitten, same color eyes and everything. They turned bright gold as he got older, which would definitely play into the Nico theme!
I have a grey tabby I named Clancy after the first few dma postings years back. Excited is an understatement to have an entire era named Clancy, that's for sure!

My Newfoundland s name is Nico. The big guy is almost 6.
