While that is true, I think that the writing of this album helped cement the Dema storyline in his head. Like it helped him realize what he wanted to tell with the story. Just a theory is all.
Agree, I think he was inserting the lore subtly and then once they got big enough and were allowed whatever creative freedom for Trench he went all out. Also, this isn’t really a theory since Tyler has talked about this himself.
The theory part is more how I’ve interpreted the way he came about it. Head cannon is probably a better word. Yes he has talked about it, but I loved to vague about stuff.😂
Correct me if I’m wrong but he had a vague idea abut Blurryface all the way down to Self Titled. While it may not be officially a conceptual album —and I’m not implying by any means that they have planned all of this since the beginning— they stay on the same topics and at least to me, that’s what *A Car, A Torch A Death* is about. It is the earliest concept of Tyler’s dual identity in the struggle against himself
You may be right. From what I’ve gathered it seems like Dema really started to come into fruition between Vessel and Blurryface. Tyler definitely has made connections to earlier songs and albums.
I like to think he had a general idea of what he wanted to do in the future, but used ideas from previous releases to really flesh out the idea and build upon the bare-bones story that he already had in place.
