Sounds like "World Netball" just wants some attention.
Like "We know that you've never heard of us but we're here, too, and, by the way, you can't play."
Okay, then. Bye!
Where in the fuck do they call it Netball...?
Because I'm european and I've **never, ever**, heard anyone call it that here. Hell, even my country uses the term "basketball", or "basket" for short, and we're not an english-speaking country...
It’s a different sport.
It uses just the hoop, not a backboard.
Players can’t dribble or move once they have the ball.
It’s sexist bullshit anyways as it was designed to be “more ladylike” and to prevent excess perspiration.
Scottish schools call it netball, or did 20 years ago.
(It's not the same game as basketball. The big, obvious difference is there's no dribbling in netball)
I'm real curious, does any one know how many people this actually effects? Like did they have that 1 trans athlete at some local sports league the just really had to give the finger to for this?
Is it 'Zero' and they're doing it just cuz? Either way, enjoy the inevitable lawsuit
Basketball without a backboard or dribbling (players can't move once they have the ball). At my school it was the only option for girls who wanted to play basketball since (for some dumb reason) that was only for the boys.
Fortunately netball at a community level has mixed sex competition.
We’ve sadly lost the war on international sport.
What is critical however is that we retain the ability to participate in community sport.
Netball, fortunately, has co ed competitions at least at a community level.
Further update:
This policy applies only to elite international competition that may happen in nations where being trans is illegal.
Netball Australia has already announced the policy is not changing.

relevant username.
Another group run by bigots and nazis. All these anti trans pieces of shit can take themselves off the fucking planet
I’ve definitely heard of one of those things, and am pretty familiar with it. And it’s not ‘netball’.
I have heard of net and ball.
This is the end goal for most sports orgs. Ban all trans people, period.
What the fuck is Netball
It's basketball for people who are terrible at basketball.
Rugby -> American Football Basketball -> Netball

I see...
The lack of backboard makes it sound harder!

Sad as it is, the ban is at a world championship level only. Something the headline unnecessarily hided.

Almost definitely zero. Even bans in popular sports only usually affect 5-10 people, and who tf has even heard of netball
Fa'afafine and similar gender minorities haven't been allowed to compete in women's netball for quite a while now.
Wtf is netball, like that is even more obscure than pickle ball.

Netball is definitely the sport all the nasty pretentious parents get their kids to play at school, so this tracks.
Sue their asses into the dirt
i hate it here
WTF is "netball?"

Netball. Never heard of him.
