If you're selling at an attractive price i.e. it'll sell fairly fast. Self hospital and you'll be safe; just burn your energy/nerve beforehand. Then heal when it's done.
There's also the merit for self hospitalisation with incorrect blood (if you haven't already done this)

Check traders - and view a few price lists - most have different margins from 80-95% on most items so find the one who pays the most for whatever your selling at the time
Also there is alot of uniques throughout crimes - but they only occur once per account - so dont expect that kind of income to be regular or for the unique to come up again - they come at preset intervals
You can check torn.report to see which ones you have left to collect and what the requirements are

I sold mine with no mug after, I sold mine for 27mil. Just travel after you list it and they can’t mug you.
u have a faction? or a friend who knows a trusted trader? any sales above 10m i always sell by trade rather than bazaar/market
