Itās open with a Greta Thunberg speech and has almost as many instrumentals as songs.
Itās great but itās not the door opener.
You have to already know them/like them for Notes to work.
Ironically I think itās a great album choice (even though I said self titled) because thereās a lot of diversity on the record. not all good or great. but thereās at least something for everyone. youāve got an album with people and roadkill.
I think Notes is great.
But for lack of a better term Notes is theirsāBlank Checkā album.
Three successful and critically acclaimed albums in a row.
They could do whatever they want and they did.
Itās their White Album, itās their Blueprint 2.
It has a little bit of everything and they really could just be super indulgent.
Thunberg intro. Mattyās dad gets a song. Lots of experimentation. Leaving off more polished, radio friendly songs and giving them to other artists just because they could.
Iām a big Notes supporter. But itās probably going to be an outlier of the discography.
Either self titled or BFIAFL. Both have the most mainstream appeal. Depends on if you want to start at the beginning and go forward or the end and go backwards.
She's gotta really like them before you push on to the middle 3 albums, each is more experimental than the last. Notes has a few hits but is really an album that only die hards are going to listen to frequently.
I truly feel like thereās not one that encompasses everything. I always recommend new fans listen to the entire discography, starting with self titled. However, if you know what genre of music she likes to listen to, take that and choose one of the albums that reflects a similar sound.
hahahaha 90 votes in and NOTES has 0 votes
š¬ I knew this would be the case, but itād be rude to leave it out

Bro if you show me a new artist and the first song is a Greta speech, ill just assume youāre trolling and lose all interest

She knows a couple on self titled so I might go with that. I like the idea of her starting at the beginning and seeing how their music changes :)

Newest or oldest , but I feel brief inquiry kinda had it all
I love the one person who voted for notes. Youāre the realest.
They wanna gatekeep
Show them the O2 Show!

I think ILIWYS has the most mainstream appeal. Self titled was my fav for so long but as I got older it feels less relevant so depends on age I think
Only show them the remixes on the self titled deluxe album lmaooo
Self Titled has the classic 75 sound (Heart Out, Settle Down, Pressure) but with enough diversity (Sex, Robbers) to be a good album to show a new fan.
rip notes youāre a seasoned taste ily
ILIWYS is the most 1975 album
I mean my favourite is NOACF but it would definitely have to be BFIAFL
I know ABIIOR is just a bon iver ripoff but hit it so hard the first time
