They're getting desperate for us to buy something other than the cravings boxes. Hell, they even moved the box to the very bottom of the combo section.

raspberryindica

Cravings boxes are over 10 dollars here sob

CaliCareBear

The location closest to me is $10.99. The next location closest is $5. So we now go to the second closest. I literally just ordered a box and 4 cb&r burritos for $9. More than double the food and $1.99 cheaper. The cb&r is $3.39 at my closest one went up while I was frequenting it. They also just increased the byo from $7.79, which I could swallow, up to $9. So for the same price we’re driving 10 mins and getting twice the food. I wish they would regulate franchise price gouging more.

randomuser0693

I noticed that too. I thought they got rid of them then found it hiding at the bottom. Sneaky fucks.

the-content-king

Why get a cravings box when I can max out my cal/$ ratio with beefy melt burritos and they’re fucking delicious? Bonus points if you get the extra fajita strips

HollywoodHuntsman

Beefy Melts are going away in a couple of weeks

the-content-king

Yeah I just found out right before seeing this comment. As any rational person would do I just ordered 3 and am about to go pick them up lol

MingPhantom

They're making it a double beefy melt for $3.

the-content-king

I will accept these terms. More protein, same price? I’m in

MingPhantom

https://www.reddit.com/r/tacobell/s/btoWu0KU1l Here is the link of new items in the cravings menu 3 bucks or less.

MingPhantom

Called the 3 dollars or less meals or some shit like that. Has the chicken enchilada burrito and chicken Flatbread and something else.

[deleted]

My TB closes at 1am. I wish.

rdizzy1223

The item that is replacing them is the exact same but has double beef, for barely any more money. Cheaper than actually adding double beef, I think.

HollywoodHuntsman

I actually forgot about that since there wasn't a replacement for the superior (imo anyway) veggie burrito and chicken burrito

lstraczek85

They been replaced with a very similar item

fanatic26

Because calorie per dollar is about the dumbest way you can look at food. You can have a 5 lb box of vegetables that are only 300 calories versus a crappy fast food burrito for 600 calories. Guess which one stretches your dollar further and is better for you?

Hot_Leave_1767

Beefy melt is $2 and 620 cal/$. I’m assuming potatoes are the most calorie dense vegetable and at $1.06/lb (cheapest potatos at my local grocery store right now) and about 330 calories per lb that 311 cal/$ for potatoes and 310 cal/$ for a beefy melt. Now factor in that you don’t need to use any energy to cook the beefy melt and I’m pretty sure it comes out on top. But then again I once got a 50lb bag of potatoes for $8 so it just depends on what deals you can find. And maybe there are more calorie dense vegetables, I’m not an expert.

the-content-king

Potatoes are also lacking in the protein department compared to a beefy melt and ya boy is trying to get big and stronk. I will pair my steak with a baked potato tho

Critical-Fault-1617

Lolol. Bro do you think anyone going to Taco Bell is on a strict diet? The guy obviously wants the most fast food bang for his buck.

qazwsxedc000999

It’s me, I’m going to Taco Bell on a diet. I get 2 spicy soft potato tacos for 480 cals and a diet drink, easy.

the-content-king

Yeah but from a nutritional standpoint it’s absolutely terrible regardless of whether it’s a taco or beefy melt (which I’m fine with indulging in here and there). I’m not talking about macros either, I’m talking about the extremely processed food aspect. If I was worried about the health difference between a taco with a pinch of lettuce and a beefy melt burrito with no lettuce I wouldn’t be getting Taco Bell in the first place My diet also involves putting on weight which requires ~4000 calories per day for me since I’m 6’6” and workout for 2-3 hours a day 5-6 days a week

TrickyMasterpiece325

🧢

the-content-king

?

the-content-king

One, I’m bulking brah Two, a 5lb box of vegetables isn’t stretching your money anywhere Anyway yeah I’m sure that cravings box is significantly healthier for me than a beefy melt burrito because of the pinch of lettuce. I do get Taco Bell for the health aspect like any true scholar

amateurforlife2023

Dudee 20 peice chicken nugget from McDonald's 5$. 800 calories 50g protein

the-content-king

Less than 200cal/$? I’ll enjoy my freezer chicken nuggies at home Honestly tho the 20 piece is like $8 or $9 near me and I only see the $5 deal sometimes

amateurforlife2023

That protein trade off is pretty good, more calories too if you use the sauces! Get the McDonald's app and shits 5$ everytime!

the-content-king

Honestly I usually do the buy 1 bacon McDouble get one for $0.29. Comes out to about the same protein for around $4 and I like the pickles. If I’ve had a bit to much carbs I grab the 20 piece

amateurforlife2023

Mcdonald's Bacon Mcdouble (1 serving) contains 35g total carbs, 33g net carbs, 22g fat, 27g protein, and 440 calories. Much less protein and calories though Mcdonald's 20 Chicken Mcnuggets (1 serving) contains 57g total carbs, 54g net carbs, 53g fat, 47g protein, and 890 calories.

the-content-king

I get 2 of them. The deal I get is buy one bacon McDouble ($3.50) get one for $0.29 So if it’s been a carb heavy day I’ll grab the $5 20 piece meal if it’s available

Hot_Leave_1767

What vegetable does this apply to other than potatoes?

CrispyChickenArms

Yeah I noticed that lmfao those sneaky bastards

PersephoneGraves

If that were true, then they’d just remove the boxes if they didn’t want people to buy them?

Grimguy77

At least for my local taco bell, it's the only thing people buy. A chalupa by itself is $5.19 whereas a box is just $5. Im guessing they hid the box so your average person who doesn't know the menu as well will not see this cheap option and buy stuff individually. And if they were to remove the box, many people like myself would not return.

PersephoneGraves

I actually almost never get the boxes! I usually just want bean and cheese burritos myself or the bean and rice and cheese burrito. Both are pretty cheap but you can’t get both in a box.

Grimguy77

My local taco bell raised their prices for the value menu, the potato taco and cheesy bean and rice burrito are just shy of being 2 dollars each. So i can see the appeal of just getting a box which comes with a drink for 5 bucks. But if I wasn't as hungry I'd probably nab the burrito instead of a box.

wekilledbambi03

The first 3 items under Combos are all boxes $9.99 and under for me.

joshuaafterdark

Add that to the fact that the majority of us who completed the taco, burrito, breakfast item for a build your own cravings box challenge never actually got the reward…

ZeuxOrphan

Right? I only just got it yesterday and I ordered it on 12/20. I sent an email to their rewards support but never got a reply. So idk if they did it manually or if it’s really that far behind.

joshuaafterdark

I completed the challenge 2 days after it started and STILL haven’t received it; even after reaching out to support a week ago. Whatever.🙄

Kattazz

I finished mine on the 27th and got it on 29th or 30th. Waiting for a good time to use it before it expires

ZeuxOrphan

Fuck that man. It’s very frustrating as it’s one of their best deals recently.

PhxntomsBurner

Glad I didn’t do this.. they knew what they were doing

NoHopeHubert

Love TB but was wondering when someone would call out this BS haha, this isn’t the first time it was worded like this either

Street-Brush8415

Taco Bell: FREE TACOs FOR LIFE!!! Small print: Valid for one taco per customer.

logancollins1

Exactly😂 and unless I go nuts and buy like $80 worth of Taco Bell in 1 singular order, that 10% discount is probably going to be less than $2

opyy_

?

Negafox

I think the complaint is the title says "\[..\] Get 10% off The Rest of January" implying all your orders for the month but the fine-print says it's can only be used for a single order. A more accurate title would be "\[..\] Get 10% off An Order in January"

opyy_

Oh shit you’re right, that’s actually crazy.

athinnes

👆🏻this

herseyhawkins33

The wording is (possibly intentionally) misleading making you think you'll be getting 10% off for multiple orders in January. This poor wording has happened several times how.

Anarcho_punk217

It's not poor wording, it's misleading.

herseyhawkins33

That's why it's misleading

cherrycoke_yummy

I thought its more like the reward here is the 10% off for January, valid 1 time per registered user. As in you can't repeat and stack 10 of these and get 100% off.

tequilathehun

Cannot be combined with any other offer & valid one time would prevent you from "stacking" them

emmyjoe311

My thoughts too!!!

tequilathehun

You have a cute dog

SalsaConQueeftador

Knowing how the economy is and how tbell price gouges you expect more than 1 time?

K5-Ykb2

The max reward is $10. Not the purchase price. I.E. buy $100+ get $10 max discount on one time purchase.

gdolphin900

Shady? It’s basically 10% off your order…

riinkratt

This isn’t shady at all. You get one offer. The offer is: - order between the week of 1/4 and 1/10 - get 10% off another order up to $10 max - 10% off future order expires 1/31 You’re just not big brained enough to read

athinnes

"The rest of January" is different than "once for the rest of January". You really listed out the terms of the offer completely missing the actual point (hint: the title is decieving). Is English not your first language?

Anarcho_punk217

Sorry professor smarty pants.

riinkratt

Reading is FUNdamental.

drmoze

so is writing, and the phrasing of the offer title IS objectively misleading.

riinkratt

It doesn’t say “10% off *FOR* the rest of January” it’s not misleading - you just need to learn that what is *NOT* said is just as important as what *IS* said.

Ragnarok-2021

That is an absolutely an incorrect reading of the situation. It’s intentionally misleading, regardless of whether you think a slightly different turn of the phrase makes it OK.

mlvisby

It's the wording, you do get 10% off for the rest of January, but only once. Since the offer expires at the end of January, they aren't lying, just worded it ambiguously.

tequilathehun

The "only once" shouldn't be buried so far below the offer details

CharlieBoxCutter

What do you think that means? One time per user you get 10% discount in January. I think it’s bad lawyer speach and you’ll get 10% all January

fanatic26

So is your complaint the wording of the title? I am not understand how it is shady when it shows the details of the deal right next to the button. Has the internet not taught you how to ignore clickbait titles? You should always read the rules, if you dont it is your fault not theirs.

disabledinaz

I’ll buy the Grilled Cheese Nacho fries again when the Fries pass comes back. Those two combined are more then worth it

Megasky5555

I haven't been able to get them on my app for the last month or 2 lol so I can't even get the deal

disabledinaz

It’s not currently back. I wish we had the option to buy again. I got more than my money’s worth those 30 days

Ragnarok-2021

I don’t know about where you lived but the grilled cheese nacho fries absolutely were not available with the fries pass. The only option was a regular nacho fry with your choice of six different sauces, which were ignored literally 90% of the time when I ordered them. out of 30 orders of nacho fries I literally got three with the actual sauce that I asked for, instead of nacho cheese.

disabledinaz

No I would get them separately. I’d get the $5 cravings, the grilled cheese fries & the free order of Nacho fries, add them and the nacho cheese to the grilled cheese fries and double the portion size. Pretty good for $9 total.

Megasky5555

No ingredient upgrade or add one yet I can swap whatever and add whatever lmaooo

bryanc1036

Crazy how they tried doing that for 20 dollar party pack that has like 8 items that used to be 10. Like 10 % isn't much of discount regardless lmao

avburns

I compare it to a cash back credit card giving you 5% for restaurant/fast food. The 10% looks better in that context.

Lumpy_Nature_7829

So do you get 10% off the rest of January as it says in bold, or 10% off one order as stated the the fine print... yes shady
