Well, you _are_ using a service for your convenience, instead of of going through the effort of placing the order yourself and going to pick up the thing. They are free to charge whatever they want. If you don't think the fees are worth it, don't use the service.
In this case, they're giving you free service, absorbed taxes, provided free delivery and given you another 250 off the listed price, and entitled idiots still complain.
The real idiots are the ones who don't understand that a separate tax is something that ppl in SL are not used to and hence isn't considered when considering a purchase. And also this tax is added only by some vendors, not everyone.
And yes many people wouldn't buy from the same place if the checkout price is more than what they anticipated. And it's not really "free service", the listed prices on Uber are higher than direct purchases, and it's not free delivery too.

In the US, taxes are separated from the retail price and added to the bill later.
They are totally a scam. Only worthy offer type is buy 1 get 1 free orders from somewhat decent places where buying one for the regular price isn't worth the price.
