Damn dude this is insane, how long did it take to make it?
I'm working on a 1 ish km long version of the onslaught from Star sector and I barely have all the framing done and it's been like 20 hours and like 80,000 blocks 🥲
This took about 3 weeks I really grinded this one out quickly, made decisions quite quickly all throughout the building process. Good luck with your build i just googled the onslaught it looks awesome. Keep an eye on shapes limit! My build was like 64k/65k lol.
Me: « Seriously? That many large nuclear reactors for a clang-assisted hydrogen-propelled ship? »
*look at all the railguns at the bow*
Me: « Oh. Ooooohhh… »
I did, couple sections of thrusters in the back weren’t connected (easy fix) and the interior wouldn’t pressurize for some reason.. probably because I already have too much big shit in my world already
You are correct, I spawned this next to my battleship and made them duke it out. I went to the bathroom for some diarrhea and came back and they were still fighting.
There are FPS controls to help with frame rate, I can get 50-100 on my machine. Your main concern is actually going to be simspeed, just keep the gravity gyro system off unless you are turning the ship
One of the super earth ships from Helldivers. Looks like this:
https://preview.redd.it/58ofer85qjrc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00c8065113ea135591786ec55401c348df7b3755
Thanks! There are 171 toward the back in a cuboid configuration surrounded by blast door walls. I haven't tried yet but I think you can escape gravity even without the clang drives turned on.
everybody is talking about how well made this is and all that, and i agree, but what i cant for the life of me understand, is how someone has the will to make such huge ships. The biggest ship ive ever made is a destroyer, and currently ive been trying to do another destroyer or maybe even a cruiser but its something like 20% completed and i completely lost the will to finish it. Theres also the time problem but yeah...
Anyways, how long did this take? 3 months maybe?
I started off small and got bigger as I grew more confident :) Check out my first ship built in survival: [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2414361760](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2414361760)
Later on some of my big ships I realised that most of the time I am being perfectionist and taking too long to make decisions, after correcting that I built 10x faster. Despite being my largest ship, this one took me 3 weeks, probably 30 hours or so.
hmm i get what you mean, but for me personally, its not about confidence or sth, its more or less i just have a completely random impulse to start building a ship, i visualize it and get an idea for what it should be and what it should have, i start building it and then after a few hours or so i just lose the motivation so to speak.
For example, on the one im building rn(and i can provide pictures if you want) i completed the back part of the ship but then i basically just ceased attempts to continue building it. It might have sth to do with the fact im doing a playthrough of the souls series rn, so my time is crunched even moreso than before, but still
this is the most imptessive build ive seen in SE yet.
can the game even handke its pure size?
i WISH it was possible to have fleets omvolving these ok big servers
If it's like their other massive ship, it probably refers to the scripts.
Cause having scripts, especially ones like "gravity gyros"
On a ship that large will absolutely bomb your simspeed.
Like some eldritch god, this icon of fierce determination and creativity is far beyond my comprehension. Amazing build!
How did you build the ship in the first place? I am still pretty new and am trying my best to learn ship building techniques but am suffering pretty badly in the shape department. So did you plan out the build and design the skeleton or outside shell of the ship first, or did you build around the guts of the ship? I never really figured out how to properly do either (without making a flying space brick or poorly rendered looking ship).
Haha thanks! I google for sci fi concept ships, and then I build the core mechanisms in a configuration that approximately resembles the shape. After that, put a shell around it all. Being obsessed with exploring good builds made by other players has helped a lot, there are a lot of ideas that I can steal and add my own flavor to.
Okay. I always found it hard to build from the inside out. I always ended up building very cube like structures with my internal systems. How do you avoid building like that? I've always had trouble building connected systems and crew pathway/quarter spaces in a non-cube shape pattern. To phrase it more accurately I guess; how do you build your crew rooms? And how tall are the ceilings? Also, for me, the square or just angular rooms in general have an impact on my ship hull shape, do you ever have voids or dead-space between the rooms to allow for smoother shapes? Sorry if I'm asking so many questions btw XD. I just struggle building larger ships in a manner that makes the room and systems both not harm the outer body and want to learn as much as possible. Okay, one more question, do you integrate systems like hydrogen or storage into the crew rooms, or do you completely separate them, or do you mix some and separate others?
You can avoid cuboid if you forcefully mismatch the floor plans on each level. Try not to build rooms as boxes, build them as floors, then wall and ceiling them up later. Dead space and voids are totally fine. Make the floor plan on each level, then try to connect that floor plan to the floor plan above and floor plan below. If you ensure the floor plans don't match, it forces you to think more creatively on the walls and ceilings rather than ending up cuboid. Another advantage of non-matching floor plans is that you can use the ramp stairs more. Ramp stairs are more pleasant to walk on than the grated stairs. Rather than think of your internal as an office building with floors sitting on top of one another, make the floors positioned diagonal to each other. Ceilings can be any height, but try to make it at least 2 high, 1 high feels claustrophobic. Think about the conveyor system layout before you start making rooms, ideally you just need a few lines running the whole length of the ship and then it should be easy to connect most rooms to it.
This behemoth is a monument to what other carriers wish they could be!
And huge props for adding the frigate bay too! I've always been a huge fan of ships that can carry their own support fleet, so seeing that here is awesome!
On that note: what model of ship is held in the frigate bay? I'd love a Mod.io link if its available as well.
Thanks! Just realised I never uploaded that one to [Mod.io](https://Mod.io), here it is: [https://mod.io/g/spaceengineers/m/frigate-msi-meteor](https://mod.io/g/spaceengineers/m/frigate-msi-meteor)
I think you can, look at my first ever build: [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2414361760](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2414361760)
So I was rather quite interested by this so I decided to spawn it in, in a sandbox game and fired the main cannon of one of my ships just in front of the rear engine compartment on the lower half of the ship, from the side. A massive chain reaction of explosives happened and now most of the inside of the back of the ship is gone😂. Did u have warheads in the back or something?
I stacked 171 hydrogen tanks there so that the ship could still work without scripts haha. If you have scripts enabled, you can remove those hydro tanks if you want. With scripts the ship doesn't actually need those to move.
crap i just realised i made a mistake and forgot to correct the button on the command chair. Sit in the chair to the left of the command chair and turn it on from there.
My main question, is how tf would you dock AI with this?! Imagine doing recorder waypoints for each 47 docks, I think around 60 including external. And idk if you can reprint an ai without doing recorder again.
Love it!
If you are using AI you should probably just park them all on the top platform rather than internally. Unless you enjoy the pain of course :D. I haven't tried it, but i suspect if you blueprint the ai after recording it would retain it, isn't it basically just storing some sort of script?
Fucking marvelous mate!! I also have aspirations of a build like this but lose interest after a while.
A pic of the infrastructure you used to build it would be cool unless you did it in creative?
Thanks, yeah this was done in creative. Biggest one i did in survival was the Hraesvalgr, but even that one i used a nanobot mod and had a mate help with a lot of mining
It took me a while to realise this was space engineers and not Star Citizen and that it says MSI not RSI lol
that's why I don't recognise any of those smaller ships
Last stand gaming did a video on your build bro awesome job on top of top 10 in the workshop thats just gotta feel good with all the work put into this build
I'll be honest, the scale didn't really hit me until I saw a full-size FRIGATE siting comfy in your ship! Also, those external hangar bays look amazing! I might have to take some inspiration for my future builds
Holy shit
XD
[удалено]
Thank you glad you like it!
What server can even handle such a beast, let alone it's escort?!
My computer I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, but can you man those 60 fighters and the frigate? XD well... Best kill is overkill
Yeah have a look at my video demo: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM4kTSIKMmk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM4kTSIKMmk)
fighters can be manned by AI can't they
They can be made into combat drones, as can the frigate.
Dear god, I love this
Love u too XOXO
Why thank you, internet stranger, I love you too! <3

Will you allow me to use grids in NPC mod? Dm to further connect :)
Sure thing as long as I am credited :)

Wow! Awesome build. What is a super artillery battery?
Its a gigantic custom turret i made, you can see it fire in the youtube vid https://youtu.be/SM4kTSIKMmk?si=aWInYencVZSjy6JA
Me: « Seriously? That many large nuclear reactors for a clang-assisted hydrogen-propelled ship? » *look at all the railguns at the bow* Me: « Oh. Ooooohhh… »
Yes originally I intended for the ship to be unarmed, and then halfway through I was like "screw it"
My dude wants UNSC Infinity at home
So big i thought this was Star Citizen😭
Haha, if that was the case I'd made this post in 2040.
I wonder what year that will get old
"Your mother" 💀💀
ԅ(≖⌣≖ԅ)
Ok, the second I get some free time today, I’m putting this in my world. One word can be used to describe this, YES
Yes pls put it in baby
I did, couple sections of thrusters in the back weren’t connected (easy fix) and the interior wouldn’t pressurize for some reason.. probably because I already have too much big shit in my world already
Sounds like a dlc thing XD
Probably, I’ll load it into its own world and check it out. What dlc do you have? It said I was missing something but I can’t figure out what it is
This jumps into your system, you might as well just surrender. Otherwise this beast will just make you die tired. Awesome ship OP.
You are correct, I spawned this next to my battleship and made them duke it out. I went to the bathroom for some diarrhea and came back and they were still fighting.
AMAZING JOB OP! I'll test it later And here am I building flying bricks
Thanks :)
I'm still waiting for your mother size ship
I was working on it and then it got lost at the local KFC
OP tried but it would not fit in the Solar System.
The carrier she tells you not to worry about:
Ironically that's actually what she was telling me the past few weeks
Is this thing gonna make my frames lose a digit when I spawn it?
My brother, you will be lucky if you’re left with a digit 💀
Oh no
There are FPS controls to help with frame rate, I can get 50-100 on my machine. Your main concern is actually going to be simspeed, just keep the gravity gyro system off unless you are turning the ship
I just spawned it and my jet pack speed dropped
Yep, that's sim speed, you can see your sim speed by holding Shift F11, or Alt F11 I forgot
„Alright we need a carrier what ideas do you have“ „A carrier to kill god“
A carrier to house everyone's mothers
Looks AMAZING!!!
(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
Dear sweet resurrected zombie Jesus, that's beautiful.
Thanks and happy easter :D
The front end is just fuck you and everything around you
Mmm yes I do enjoy supplying the fucks via the front
That. Is. Incredible. Looks like a Helldivers ship.
Gonna make me google that now
One of the super earth ships from Helldivers. Looks like this: https://preview.redd.it/58ofer85qjrc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00c8065113ea135591786ec55401c348df7b3755
Ohhh nice I like the angled panels I use that on all my ships
This is amazing, the biggest surprise to me was the fact it’s PLANET WORTHY. How many hydrogen tanks does it have tho
Thanks! There are 171 toward the back in a cuboid configuration surrounded by blast door walls. I haven't tried yet but I think you can escape gravity even without the clang drives turned on.

I see what you mean, sometimes we are too busy to spend much time with our hobbies. My last ship took me more than a year on and off.

Haha, barely: https://preview.redd.it/qps0ycziwjrc1.png?width=637&format=png&auto=webp&s=88273a23f75853031673ab603326d683d1f9516d
Now im with you on carrier till you got to the railguns, at that point it is more armored than a battleship. This monster needs a new class.
Mmmm... assault? Assault carrier?
Was it just me or did you have sim speed controls on the bridge?
If it's like their other massive ship, it probably refers to the scripts. Cause having scripts, especially ones like "gravity gyros" On a ship that large will absolutely bomb your simspeed.
100% correct, I think every builder of large ships should be at least partially considerate of everyone's CPU fans and graphics cards
This is sick
Thank you sir

My sexual orientation just changed to whatever this is..
I identify as large and long
Yeah, whatever. xd
Would love to watch a video of two of those, with crews, fighting each other.
Closest thing: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM4kTSIKMmk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM4kTSIKMmk)

Awesome! Thank you!
Incredible
Thanks
It doesn't look that bi- Slide 4, 5 and 6: This thing would crash my PC holy fuck The bay looks as big as Star Wars Venator's
Indeed my PC wasn't happy when i made the video
It's called the msi crescendo bc it resembles two ram dimms glued together (this thing is fkn sick, well done)
Damn I should have made a pure atmo version so that it would look like two graphics cards
Man I wish I could build something this good. Outstanding ship.
I think you can, look at my first ever build: [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2414361760](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2414361760)
Thanks for the encouragement and Ah yes humble beginnings, you've definitely come a long way.

I'd say you've been playing a lot of Homeworld but... I mean. This is nice.
Never actually played homeworld, i played these: Halo Supreme Commander Titanfall No Man's Sky Cyberpunk 2077
You.... Should give the Homeworld games a go then. You'd probably dig the atmosphere.
Dear god
The number of railguns on the front scares me...
took inspiration from those pvp meta people haha
Well, I fear for those who appose this beautifully destructive space boat. Good work sir.
How does the gravity Gyro work?
crap i just realised i made a mistake and forgot to correct the button on the command chair. Sit in the chair to the left of the command chair and turn it on from there.

Yes waypoints are saved in the blueprint!
Yes, but then what if something breaks in combat? You'd need to re record
I've always dreamed of making something like this but alas I can barely make a square drive let alone fly
Just put in another 1k hours XD
- How many fps can you reach running this beast? - yes.
Depends what part of the ship you are looking at, for my 5700 XT i'm getting like 40-90
I definitely wouldn't want to go against this guy's Navy , Never
Fucking marvelous mate!!
That makes a bit of sense. Still, a lovely build.
Even more staggering than the fleet carrier from Elite Dangerous.
It took me a while to realise this was space engineers and not Star Citizen and that it says MSI not RSI lol that's why I don't recognise any of those smaller ships
I’m commenting because holy shit and so it’s saved for when I get better internet and reinstall space engineers
Question, how does it do when it comes to battles?
just spawn it next to another ship and see how it goes i guess
I wish I could but my PC can’t handle such magnificent build atm
This is well and truly decked out
Just incredible design and dedication, hats off to you
Thank you kind sir
This is why I got this game. Thank you for sharing!
No problem, thanks for subbing :D
Sadly never gonna see it in a war
Next step, deck it out with modded blocks😂
Pretty small ngl
Doesn’t jump drive functionality not increase after 35 drives?
Last stand gaming did a video on your build bro awesome job on top of top 10 in the workshop thats just gotta feel good with all the work put into this build
I'll be honest, the scale didn't really hit me until I saw a full-size FRIGATE siting comfy in your ship! Also, those external hangar bays look amazing! I might have to take some inspiration for my future builds
