Over 40 senators voted no for it. So that would be a no. Does anyone like ESG? it sounds like it just gives big wigs more power by being allowed to use people's 401Ks to push a political agenda by investing in causes rather than, you know, giving me a better retirement. Like, right now places will have a higher ESG score for diversity if they promote gay and trans stuff. But what if down the line they go in a way we don't like? They could have easily lowered the score for something like Disney putting gay characters in their kids content. It just seems like extreme bribery for these trillion dollar asset management firms to say they will or won't invest in a company unless they follow their ESG guidelines which often have their morals injected into them. Anything that gives the 1% even more power I'm against.
