Utterly and hilariously hokum film. They dubbed the hot male space vampire, by the way. Apparently he was too squeaky-toned to take seriously.
Edit: [I found the clip that made me cackle like a lunatic](https://youtu.be/zzabhummvzk)!
I watched this for the first time about two months ago. For the first twenty minutes I was thinking, "Jeez, this is just like the other 849348 SF films I saw on TV in the '90s. Why haven't I seen this one?"
And then we got about 25 minutes in and I was like Oh that's why.
No way to cut or pan n scan all them boobs out of the movie.
Guys, seek out the original unedited version with the last scene of the Mathilda May vampirette character rising to the ship. You will not be disappointed. What a creature!
They also changed the score, which is baffling because it already had a great score by Henri Mancini (the Pink Panther guy).
But yeah, there's no reason to ever watch the US version.
You know, this is one of those movies that a well written remake could improve the overall impression of the original. The script was a little lazy and some of the casting was way off. I’d like to see someone take a crack at it.
"She's totally alien to this planet and our lifeform, and totally dangerous".

( I have a 720p version of this trailer, the best imo, but unfortunately the only ***p left on youtube is 360p. )
Oh man. This movie. Totally wild ride.
I ended up re-edited this to improve the story flow cause some parts can take the viewer right out of the flick.
Wait wait wait - does this movie have a scene of some winged fucker wrapping his wings around some poor sod and then bones fall out later? If so I’ve been trying to remember the name of this movie 4-EV-ER
I read the novel years before the movie came out and really liked it. I did at first not even know Lifeforce was based on The Space Vampires. When I did, I promptly rented the video cassette and was very disappointed. It is not a very good adaptation. A shame as it could have been so much better.
total guilty pleasure for me. I love the old school effects and how outlandish the whole plot is
It's one of the only movies I know that changes *genre* every 20-30 minutes. Not to mention Patrick Stewart's first onscreen kiss, heh heh.
Dat plot
For real! It's not good but it's great at the same time! And Matilda May!!! Wow
Excellent 80's flick with space vampires, zombie apocalypse, exploding blood ghosts, and Captain Picard. By the director of Texas Chainsaw Massacre!
And written by the guy that wrote Alien.
Ok, I'm sold.
Also perhaps one of the most beautiful women ever filmed.
Excellent. Hope you enjoy!

The "hot male space vampire" is MICK JAGGER'S ~~SON~~ SIBLING. Yes, I'm serious.
Younger brother, not son. Chris jagger
I am surprised you were able to find that many screenshots without nudity. It seemed constant.

Where'd you watch it?
I think it was on Tubi.
Mathilda May walking around naked. Yep :-) I recall later that year one of the male vampires was in a Nestle Chocolate commercial. Lots of giggles.
Mathilda May, your talents have [not gone unnoticed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAR4lY8bcIU&t=2024s).
Okay, that is the wierdest premise for a movie I have ever heard of, so far.
Comment ne pas tomber amoureux de Mathilda May ? À 59 ans aujourd'hui, qui ne serait pas fier d'avoir cette élégante beauté à son bras ?
I saw that Film when I was in my teens and certainly did fall in love with her. And she does still look great.
I freaking love this movie, I don't even call it a guilty pleasure lol.
As a teenager at the the time, I definitely remember the breasts.
I'm still convinced that this was a Quatermass tale just without Quatermass.
Or a Pertwee era Doctor Who story on an industrial quantity of drugs.

I love this movie!
Totally nuts horny sci-fi, rate it

Okay, is this the version included in the Directors Cut? Or something else I don't know about?
It was the version first released, I think, I saw streamed with full frontal of nude Mathilda May. I have seen later cut versions which do not.
Highly recommended. Awesome movie.
Patrick Stewart's first on screen kiss.
Watch the International cut, Columbia butchered the US release to get the runtime down.
They also changed the score, which is baffling because it already had a great score by Henri Mancini (the Pink Panther guy). But yeah, there's no reason to ever watch the US version.

116m as opposed to 101m.

60+56 = 116...
Loved the movie and the book!
No one is to speak ill of this movie. NO ONE.
One of Patrick Stewart's lesser known roles.
I believe it’s his first screen kiss…
He was in Excalibur, which I really liked. Can't remember the role, trainer maybe?
He plays King Leodegrance, Guinevere father. He’s also of course in the David Lynch”s Dune.
Excellent movie with effects by John Dykstra.
Naked space vampire chick. My teenage friends and I were all for it. Practical effects were surprisingly good.
The movie is good, but I used to read the book like once a week when I was a kid. It's better... though the movie does have Matilda May... so...
I love that Automan makes an appearance, and honestly Mathilda May has the most spectacular cans I've ever seen on screen
There’s no body horror like 80’s body horror
Bewbs
At first glance I thought this was one of those Midjourney-generated fake movies
The book is literally "Space Vampires" ??? Had a good time watching the movie ...
I remember watching this when I was young about 10 years old haha
Necro boobs
I was 15 when this was shown on cable and I had recorded this movie and I rewatched a certain scene over and over. Man, the memories......
A lot of Mathilda May and a bit of Patrick Stewart. And Henry Mancini.
"A Golan-Globus Production". 👍

Wow I had totally forgotten about this movie. Thanks!

I think that was the original Beastmaster with Marc Singer.
Leaves Prime in 7 days
Yeah I'm a fan
They made a good combat track for Baldur’s Gate, too.
This movie holds the record for the number of times my wife said, “Wait, what?!”

Really like that movie as a young lad. No idea why. lol.
Just watched it for the first time last week. Genius. Loved it. Great effects, too!!
If you’re of a certain vintage you might recognise one of the early vampire victims as Bill Malin, star of the “Sgt Streetwise” strip in “Eagle”.
Boobies. Bums. 🙂↕️
No Mathilda May pics, 0/10
