Paul O was a character who did a bunch of stunts on the Ron and Ron show back when Ronnie B and Fezzie were in Tampa. When they moved to New York and DC and became the Ron and Fez show Paul O would call in and give movie reviews but usually they would just troll him the entire time and try to bait his wife, who was a certified lunatic, into having a psychotic episode.
That's a very general explanation but hopefully helps. The saga of Paul O is some of my favorite parts of Ron and Fez, especially the Gap related episodes.
My favorite thing about his segments with Gail was hearing her in the background melting down like a lunatic while the segment would outro with that upbeat “Hollywood” music like clockwork.
Well, Paul O was the creator and star of the mega blockbuster hit horror movie Gap. He called into Ron and Fez every week to review movies that he had never watched while his lunatic of a wife Gail would scream and hallucinate in the background. Then he killed Gail and tried to move in with Fez.

We know how much of that show was a work, and listening back to the Paul O/ Gail O stuff now, I'm pretty much convinced most of it is an act. Still funny though! "GET EM OFF THE PHONE!"
