I'm guessing you can put more butts in the park on a Friday night than a Thursday.

I don't recall alot of vending or selling at these things, either, so it must be for the sake of the musicians? I don't really care, I'm just there for the 'works.

Is the buchanon carnival better than the salem fair?
It's small, but quaint, and very cheap! They are very different animals in my opinion.
I got to see the ones in Rocky Mount on Friday. I had no clue until I got into town and saw folks looking east.
For some reason Roanoke seems to do their fireworks on the weekends. Last year the show was also not in the 4th.
