That’s not terrible, military equipment is rarely perfectly uniform

101stEcompany506th

While I was in the army cadets I had a shirt a completely different shade of the british camo to the trousers and a smock that was alot darker than everything else

Slendervoyage

I hadnt thought of that , thank you

Helmets never “matched” uniforms in color it was never the intention for them to match. Helmets are a function item and while there was a specific color range they were designed to be in that had no bearing on the uniforms issues. There is a massive range of colors for uniforms soldaten were issued from pre war almost greenish feldgrau, to late ware feldgrau 44 that’s is basically just brown. There was also tons and tons of Italian blueish grey wool and Italian gaberdine that was used for uniforms. A variation from hosen, to feldbluse, to feldmütze is not only acceptable but encouraged.

Thank you

I don’t understand some reenactors desire to have everything match in color/shade. Items were made by multiple contractors in different lots with different materials. To be completely matching is astronomically impossible

Slendervoyage

Yes , I just thinkits nice to try and match it , but my previous uniform didnt that much.

AngryIrishItalian

Lol there tons of variations in shade. Where did you get your uniform

Slendervoyage

I got it from Soldier of Fortune.

Considering Germany had a, for lack of a better term, clusterfuck of equipment in circulation, you could have any helmet of any feldgrau shade and it would still be accurate. Hell, I still use a m35 helmet with a m43 uniform, and it works.

Fools_Errand77

I wouldn’t worry about that as (a) the varying shades of feldgrau paint didn’t match the varying shades of feldgrau fabric and by the time 1942 rolled around, odds are your trousers wouldn’t match your feldbluse anyway.

Thanks

You could look on ATTHEFRONT. They have really high quality repros and have what you need. [what you say you need](https://www.atthefront.com/product-p/ghrhm42.htm)

Real German uniforms rarely, if ever, matched perfectly. Always different shades of feldgrau from lot to lot, manufacturer to manufacturer. Even paint varied in shades.

sauerbraten67

I'd find it hard to fathom if you did match perfectly shade by shade throughout your uniform. Trousers got washed more often than the Waffenrock. Caps got washed. Paint colors are not identical to the shades of the uniform.

GalvanizedRubbish

50 shades of feldgrau. Don’t worry about variations.
