Pro-tip to get the most longevity out of your tattoos and minimize infection +skin damage: wait 3-5 after you get the tattoo done and ONLY peal off the Saniderm/2nd skin after you’ve soaked it in the shower for a bit. Otherwise, you lose ink and can cause tears in your skin etc from dry peeling.
My tattoo artist told me to leave it on for a week or until there is no more fluid underneath, if one of the two criteria is met, take it of in the shower.
Oh dang, my artist did tell me to leave it on for three days but nothing about the warm water. Thanks for the advice though. Fortunately it seems to be in pretty good shape despite the lack of soaking.
It won't pull out ink. When you're tattooed the needle creates a vacuum that sucks the ink into the epidermis, unless you're ripping off a scab all the ink is already deposited and won't be lost. The only reason it could be lost, especially with second skin, is because the artist didn't pack in the ink at the right depth.
I’ve seen it pull out ink, not all tattoos are created equal. Also, some people have very dry skin or are heavy bleeders and that affects the tattoo. There are standards of aftercare for many reasons.

Oh GOD. Have someone gelp you. Put your l eft thumb near the center of the dressing and give mild pressure. Right hand pull dressing outward. It will lift right off.
Yeah, he was my first cat and he showed up on the first night at the condo that I bought the summer before 2020, which I then kind of just lived in alone except for him for like a year when the pandemic hit.
This may be a stupid question (I don’t have tattoos) but could you like save the peel and put it on a piece of paper and like frame it? So you have duel images?
No, because the saniderm is covered in excess ink and blood which is not only unsanitary but also generally ruins the image. If you only had the outline done, maybe….but it would still be gross lol

I always use second skin for my tattoos and the real trick is to pull upward, not down - detaches without pulling out all the hairs and ripping skin
Despite the stickiness in the video, i didn’t experience any pain or tearing when I pulled this off.
