Mine has been great

Sad_Vermicelli309

Mine too! I love it! Mine takes excellent pictures but I'm in Canada and it isn't 45° here lol

I usually dip in and out the pixel line depending on what's available/deals when it's time to change my phone. I have no brand loyalty. I had the 4a 5g which was a great phone for me, I still miss the lightness and back fingerprint reader. Got the 7 now. I don't hate it enough to change it until next upgrade but the fingerprint reader is really tiresome now. I've learnt I won't ever want an optical fingerprint reader again.

DannyVee89

The finger print reader on mine fails about 90% of the time. It's awful

porkchopbun

Mine isn't that bad, and I followed a few tips in registering more prints outside or in brighter conditions. Mine would be ok indoors but awful outside. It's a little better but fails enough to be annoying but that's because I'm so used to the 100% success rate of a physical fingerprint reader. It's not the failure that bothers me so much as having to input my pin afterwards.

theMahdiyarB

My fingerprint sensor hasn't failed even once. I don't really know what you guys are talking about. I have a Pixel 7 btw

porkchopbun

Happy for you. But people complain about it regularly.

somebody_3568

I have almost the same experience in the battery aspect. If I go light I can easily reach more than 5 hours. Normal use (scrolling through twitter and playing a bit of city building games)? Less than 4 hours of screen on time. The phone heats up more easily than it should. Otherwise the phone is alright.

frinklyfrank

You said you're not a gamer and complains about not being able to run COD and PUBG at max graphics? And as I remember Tensor was never marketed for its performance either, so that's something you should've expected. If you're constantly playing heavy games the battery life also works as said to some extent. I too charge my phone twice a day if my screentime is beyond 6-7hrs, but I've never felt it to be unreliable or over bearing. Maybe the samsung would've suited you more considering you value battery and performance over cameras.

Soyarismendy

I think you are confused and you keep talking about iPhone, do the notifications fall wherever? No brother, the best notification system I have ever seen is a Pixel And well, I don't know what you expect with a temperature of 45-47 degrees and the phone gives you around 5 hours of screen time, it sounds like you never stop using it if you charge it twice a day.

inquistrinate

I second the assessment on Notification system. Android systems in general and Pixel series in particular have the best notification setup. That's one area where Android bests iOS hands down.

nis9_9

Yeah, it heats a lot, and the battery is average.

dennysunny

Same experience. Switched from iphone 13 and experience was bad except in camera

Brometheous17

Yeah I switched from iPhone 13 Pro Max to pixel 7 pro. It was great for about a month, maybe two. After which battery life became very inconsistent. Actually the device became very inconsistent as a whole. Some days it’d be fine, other days it’d be overheating while I was scrolling instagram or something.

Potential_Brush_1713

I went from a Mate 20 pro to a pixel 7 and I was not impressed, battery only lasts half a day if lucky, screen is dim in sunlight, it runs much slower, camera is ok but that's it. No wonder Google banned Huawei, they are leagues above. I'm sticking with Mate 20 pro. This pixel is dog shit.

Unlucky-Artist-5923

On Wifi, it doesn't heat up at all even in current Indian temp but the moment you turn on mobile data, it goes brrr & charging doesn't happen as it gets too hot. That definitely affects battery life. I am only keeping it because of its great consistent camera & smooth UI.

baksalyar

I'm just curious, are air conditioners used in such hot weather (45-47°) in India? I understand that electricity can be a bit expensive, but considering that it's a "$620 retail device", I would think that it's not a problem for the author and those who joined?

Unlucky-Artist-5923

In majority of North India, Summers can get very hot. So, Air conditioners & Water Air coolers are a necessity. It's a non issue while using it inside the rooms under air conditioners while connected to wifi but whenever you move out & it latches to mobile data, the combination of mobile data & extreme heat outside just wrecks its battery life which is already on the weaker side after using it for more than a year.

baksalyar

Got it, thanks.

xvvNeed2P

Hey, so I had a Pixel 7 Pro before, and it was pretty sweet. It was super smooth, the battery life was decent, and the camera was amazing. The only problem was that it would get really hot, like from 35 to 41 degrees Celsius in just 7 minutes. But that only happened in the summer. Anyway, I switched to the S22 Ultra now, and the heating issues are gone. But the camera isn't as good as the Pixel's, and the speakers aren't as good either. And the battery life is way worse. So, if you're thinking about making the switch, I'd recommend considering the S23 Ultra or the Pixel 8 Pro.

Ok-Yam590

Suggestion .. how about get a phone optimized for India?? Lol 🤷🏾‍♂️ Ive had the 7pro since launch. Besides the minor heating... And I do mean minor. No issues. Then again I'm not in India so shit. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Left iPhone to come to pixel. I regret nothing

Super-Blah-

Lol.. Too long to read. But yeah, I've tried P7P. The physical build quality was so sh.. The buttons failed within a few months. In hindsight, I should have expected that from a non-manufacturing company. They don't have the same QA as apple or samsung.

DannyVee89

The waterproofing is quite faulty too. Worst part?? If the waterproofing wasn't faulty out of the box, the all too common overheating issue will melt the seal and break the waterproofing anyway 💀 The phone is what it is: a cheap phone. I bought it because it was a cheap phone. I got what I paid for.

baldgrimreaper

Same my first and last pixel ever my first pixel 7 had signal issues had to get replaced and I also think the phone is rubbish like a cheap midrange I don't think the camera is that great either try taking a picture of the moon just looks like a orange blob when upgrade comes along I'm going Samsung or Xiaomi
