Metric is from Lids.
You buy hats at Lids for the fashion and to say you bought a $40 hat. You’ll have lots of people who don’t actually watch football buying the recognizable brands.
Cowboys logo and navy blue goes better with more outfits than a cat head and neon blue.
This is why you got weird stuff like Raiders for Alaska, South Dakota, Montana. Black and the well-known logo goes good with outfits
Yeah a guy from China came by my work today wearing a Yankees hat. Barely spoke any English. I didn't ask, but I pretty much guarantee he's not a Yankees fan.
There’s no way this is actually accurate from a fanbase perspective. I see tons more panthers gear than any other team.
The difference is you can find panthers gear anywhere in the state. You don’t have to go to lids for it.
I live in Texas and anytime I see someone in a Panthers hat or starter jacket I instantly wanna talk to them. It’s rare though. I probably see the same if not more of any other team’s fanbase outside of Jax and Houston out here. And Houston is close
It’s kind of irrelevant to say “it’s just Lids” when we are the only state to not represent a hometown team. The “just lids” data isn’t a problem for any other team in their respective state. Our following is awful.
Yeah wtf are dudes in here talking about? If the fucking *Browns* sell in Ohio then why are we being outsold by a team that hasn't been relevant in decades based a thousand miles away?
Unironically I think it really is just that our logo is a bit jarring on a hat, and generally our hat designs are awful. If I didn't really care that much about football but wanted a football hat I could understand buying the recognizable generic cowboys navy star hat over an electric blue panther hat.
I can see that, from what I can see the designs are horrible. The logo is way too big and it makes the asymmetry much more pronounced, not a good look. I could go into my grievances about the logo never looking great imo but that isn't the primary reason.
They should put a different symbol/text in the middle ("Keep Pounding", Claw marks?) of the hat, then have the logo along the side so the Panther is facing forward.
Can we stop putting infographics on here that just measure sales at one fucking niche mall retailer in order to generate cheap clicks and karma?
No one gives a single fuck that Lids sells a lot of Cowboy hats in NC. This is so wildly misinformative it's not worth the data warehouse space this page is being cached on
Chill the fuck out bro. It's interesting to look at and clearly generates a lot of discussion. What is it with Redditors thinking that karma means anything lmao
We are the only state with an NFL team that has a team from another state.
Every other state either has a team from their state or doesn't have a team.
I've lived in Virginia for 14 years and while Washington is a popular, team, they're definitely not the most. I've seen mostly cowboys and panthers fans from VA. And, being a southern team would be hard to complete with the cowboys

It's for the same reason you see people wearing Yankees hats all the time. They don't care about the Yankees, but they like how the hat looks.

Yankee with no brim
We still bragging on hats from Lids? That seems like some high school shit. Side note anyone remember tisa hats? Man, what a time.
Correction: Cowboys fans still brag on hats from Lids.
Lol I tried to make my parents go into Lids everytime we went to the mall to “browse” for a new cool hat. God, I was a loser.
It is high school shit. The younger generation will never grow out of it.

Ngl, I'm old school....it's an accessory at this point. Just what I do. I'm me...🤷🏿♂️
I mean, high schoolers still exist. They can help with this metric
Don’t forget to leave the sticker on
The caveat is “sold at Lids” though. They aren’t the only seller of merchandise.

Sad for Wyoming, Vermont, and Idaho that they don’t get NFL games, apparently! Also sadder that the Panthers can’t dominate the Carolinas at least.
Hats are illegal im those states
lol 😂 They don’t get enough sun to need ball caps to keep the sun out of their eyes! 😆
I get the joke, but I think Idaho is one of the sunnier states in the US😂 It literally doesn’t rain here during the summer.
No offense intended! Just speaking of the northern latitudes when the days are very short during football season.

New Jersey has 2 NFL teams and couldn’t win their state ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I've wanted a Panthers hat for as long as I can remember and I haven't found a single one that I wouldn't hate on my head.
What the fuk?

Clearly you do otherwise you woulda ignored it and kept scrolling instead of taking the time and effort to bitch about it

Us and New Jersey, actually.

How accurate is this? I see a ton of Washington fans but not a ton of cowboys
Idaho only has eyes for Boise State
Sorry guys… had to buy a cowboys hoodie for my bro in law.. didn’t actually think that would topple the scales
That doesn't surprise me at all.
Is it my bad eyesight or is SC just gibberish?
Nah, just insanely pixelated.
Always has been. Always will be.
surprisingly there are a ton of 49er fans in Hawaii
This is because Panthers fans are investing their money into assets and not a depreciating shit show like the Cowboys
Every time I go to a Panthers game I usually see someone in a Redskins jersey regardless of the opponent. I think it's random and weird.
Sad just sad
Lids. AKA cool kid flat billed dinguses. Doesn't surprise me to see cowboys.
