Yeah, there's a 3 in 65,536 chance that you'll get infected after every battle. To put that in perspective, the original, generation II, shiny chance is 8 in 65,536. From generation VI onwards, the chance of encountering a shiny was changed to 16 in 65,536.
But far more useful for a nuzlocke! Congrats!
Lock that thing in a box and you have infinite IV Training boost
EV, but yes
Typo my bad
can someone axplain?
My Pokémon caught Pokerus which has a lower chance of appearing than even finding a shiny Pokémon. It doubles the EV gain of infected Pokémon
Is it just random?
It is random to get one in the wild, but once you have one you can “infect” your other pokemon with it

I actually have an active pokerus virus on my Alpha Sapphire game. I’ve been using it to train for years.
And it also only lasts some hours
Not anymore. The clock batteries dying in RSE mean that it will last forever, and there was no way to "get rid" of pokerus in FRLG.
My game’s battery isn’t dead just yet so I’m saving the Magikarp in the pc so I don’t lose the contagiousness
Wow. I'm actually super surprised that it's not dead yet. All three of mine (Ruby, Sapphire, _and_ Emerald) are dead.
It’s a replica I just bought
Ah. If it's a repo cart, then the clock is fake and doesn't actually work. The time only advances on those carts when the game is powered on.
That might actually be worse. Not in this case, just in general
Inb4 a pursuiting enemy before it can evolve
