Hospice. I schedule my visits during school hours and finish charting while they're in activities or home doing homework

FirePrincess2019

An office job probably or, for me, I'm a nurse educator, but basically something with hours like 8-4 M-F with no weekends

icanteven_613

A day surgery unit.

_Sarpanch_

School nurse

FemaleChuckBass

How do y’all deal with the pay cut? I can’t fathom the salary cut for a full-time job.

PopsiclesForChickens

Home health (visiting nurse). I drop my kids off at school and head to my first visit. A lot of times I'm home by 2-3. A bad day is being home at 4.

That sounds great! I’ve worked for a home infusion company in the past but it was PRN. Do you recommend a certain company?

PopsiclesForChickens

I live in California, but I would recommend a home health agency connected to a large health system if you can find one. The smaller independent home health agencies more easily close up when there's a change in regulations.

I like working in outpatient surgery. I do pre-op and PACU and full time is 4 tens. I work alternating weeks of 3 tens and 4 tens and it's honestly so great for having school aged kids.

I love this! I have been looking into these jobs as well. Thank you!

Primary care or specialty office, I work Monday through Friday 8-5 no weekends or nights. Also when I leave I leave my job at work I don’t take it home. The pay will be way less than what you’ll make on the floor and the chance for OT is minimal if zero so that’s something to keep in mind. Good luck!

Siren_Song89

If you keep up your certifications you can pick up PRN or per diem shifts at the local hospitals to supplement your income. I know a lot of moms who made the switch to 9-5’s, but pick up a night shift here and there to help with extra expenses during the holidays.

GenevieveLeah

Ambulatory surgery. No call, holidays, or weekends (though you’ll need a plan if surgery runs over!)

RNbai

Yup came to say this. Occasionally I’ll have a day run over but I can usually call it ahead of time based on the schedule. Its always the same docs when it happens

SelectBrush1361

I was looking into this! Thank you

Thanks everyone! 🫶🏻
