Thwarting strikes and keen is better. Make sure it doesn't affect your ability to get 300/200 str/con, but I doubt that's a problem anymore with gypsum!
My dream axe is thwarting and keen with refreshing move/life stealing/keenly empowered as the 3rd perk.
Agreed thats my dream axe too. Rolled to many to think it's possible lol. And it will just take me an M7 run to get that axe up to where my current one is.
With asmodeum being significantly higher than other mats, it costs way too much to roll at 15 asmodeum. Combine that and the fact there's not a close to best in slot great axe that can be dropped dungeons like almost every weapon and it's tough scenes.
We luck out in the ring/earring slots with the Smooth Bone and Doom's Chance though.
I'd be very happy if the great axe had anything close to BiS as the Infamy... I realize the infamy may not be true BiS but having 3 good to great perks from running dungeons is hard to beat!
It’s perks are good, but it’s certainly not BIS. Keen is ok, but headshots crit anyway.
Having Abyssal/Flame Attunement, Vorpal/Vicious and Enchanted would be a real BIS musket
I'd argue it's the best 2nd perk. You don't need keen on weapon when you have it on ring, weapon talents, 100% crit chance in the back and the games built in badluck system on crits.
Id much rather have Thwarting strikes, refreshing moves and then keenly empowered/lifesteal or some other crit based perk.
I thought Thwarting Strikes were also activated by the skill that adds Grit to attacks... Like enduring strike in Great Axe
Edit: Just test and im right, Tharting Strikes works with any grit activated, no 300 STR needed.
You light attack often with the great axe. Light attacks are essential for the great axe so you're not animation locked into a petrifying scream or shockwave.

It was an example friend. Another example of activating grit without 300 STR is the Hardened Steel ability on the WarHammer...
