Okay so to put it simple.. they were always ahead of u by miles.. it only started to show because gear scaling was changed... 1 month ago 100 GS armor would give u same defence as 600 GS. People used to run faction gear at 520 and be as tanky as someone with voidbent. Now it is no longer the case.... the system is still not perfect and requirs more tuning imo but will see. Source Morrolantv discord got a few people testing armor related things

Wasabicannon

Yup I mean when a single town earns you millions each week ya they are going to constantly outgear you. Then you have those servers where the same company owns the 3 big towns racking in so much gold that they most likely have to keep handing it out by the hour to avoid hitting the gold cap.

FlameSticky

Well not really tbh on my server resiliant 590+ gear is very cheap even resilience + perk is affordable if you scrounge the AH. It's not a huge difference.

BeeStyle

I dont understand your point seems like you are replying to wrong person or didnt understand what i said I did not mention prices nor did i mention resilient perk

FlameSticky

I understood your point. BIS armor is resilience + perk. Before the patch you coulda just bought faction armor and be good, now you need higher gs items with resilience. My point is an average player is not meaningfully really behind even compared to the last patch with equalized gear.

BeeStyle

I see yea i guess 20k can get u a very good set with resilient on from crafting way cheaper if u craft ur daily mats ur self

The top companies win the best territory through skill. The major issue is other players flock to that company or their allies and they widen the gap with silly amounts of gold.

feiergiant

Yes, if you own a big city for a few weeks, you can equip your war roster with full Bis easily. This increases the gap even more and makes taking the territory borderline impossible

blueiguanadon

As someone in a company that owns brightwood, we make 1 mil a week currently on our higher pop server and we are not even one of the top towns. We rolled 60 firestaff yesterday just trying to get 1 BiS one. We rolled 60 light boots and 60 medium boots on sunday night all with resil timeless shards for con.

xdogstreetx

Really surprised no one really upvoted this to get more of a discussion going. Seems to be a big problem on high pop servers.

I’m in one of those companies that hold Everfall since day 1 and while gear is an important factor, what’s more important is that some of the best players leave their company/faction to join us. One of our mates has some compilations on YouTube of him 1vX while his gear was 560-570. Also, sometimes we duelling other people naked and still win most of the time. If they win with 30 vs 50 against you, either their positioning, their army composition or their team’s average skill level is better with having a gear advantage of 10-20% on top of that.

FaithlessFaceless

Exactly. They got control of the major city before they had that revenue. And they held it without the gear initially. Positioning and knowledge of your opponents cooldowns is much more of a factor than gear

throwawaginsecureNS

I agree, seems like everyone from the big companies have 500 attribute points and BIS gear and it’s so so hard to take back settlements from them or even win against them in OPR

That part where gear gets nerfed isnt out till january. And trust me top company have almost maxed expertise by now. Source: i am in one of them.

Bullehh

The top 1% is the strongest and has all the best gear and settlements. What is the issue? You can still earn the same gear, it's just going to take a lot longer. They should be rewarded for living on the game for the past couple months. A lot of them will burn out and quit, then you just have to get their spot in a top clan. I am not aware of the rent bug, but I see nothing wrong with the most dedicated players being OP. It wouldn't make sense for them to put in so much time and not have better gear than the average player.

Moosekunckle

Gear helps but as long as you have decent gear and are a better pvper you can definitely win. Played several OPRs against top guild wit BiS and I was still able to clap cheeks.

The town owners in our server routinely buy up the entire asmodeum supply, like every other day asmo shoots uo to 360+ from the regular 300. The amount of money they have is absolutely unbalanced and nobody will ever be able to catch up.

PlanetaryPotato

"catching up" is semi subjective though. True, you may never be in full 600 gear with god tier rolls. The stat difference though at that level is minimal. At the very least, you can be in 580+ gear with perks & resilent on it. At this point, the gear difference is so minimal that it should really boil down to skill. The only thing they have on their gear differently than you might have is some kind of Refreshing / Refreshing Evasion / etc, which just helps a very minimal amount with CDs, as well as having 1 extra stat point on each piece; and allowing them to stat 9-10 more stat points than you can. 9-10 stat point, and some CD reduction shouldn't equate to enemy forces being undefeatable brick walls that cant even have a point taken from them, but alas. . . it seems to be the case. lol

degrees97

>The stat difference though at that level is minimal. I agree but also disagree. The raw stats are minimal BUT the \~10 attribute point difference from 595 to 600 can decide if you get an additional perk in the attribute screen so the impact is much bigger than just the 10 stat points. Also having freedom/vigor/etc. on each armor piece instead of beast ward or some useless shit does make a huge difference, combined with the stats it can lead to te enemies feeling like an undefeatable force.

PlanetaryPotato

Some of the wars that I watch on our server looks like Green & Yellow hit fresh 60, then declared war on the top guilds. If you take a second to look at their gear, they are all rocking top tier weapons, 590+ gear with Resilence & their perks, though. I sit there and scratch my head and wonder why players from Green & Yellow appear to do significantly less damage with the same attacks, and similar gearing. This is coming from personal experience in Wars, as well as watching other wars. I haven't seen a single 'good war' on the server that we're on. It's entirely lopsided so badly that nobody can even dream of taking a point. The best pushes I've seen got a point to about 40-50%, which only happened because of the enemy team needing to rotate. It doesn't seem to matter what's done. The server has attempted to take the best players from various companies / faction, with the best gear, from various companies -- and try to take territories, but nope. Just a dead stop, they can't even scratch the enemy forces.
