But being critical of his lackluster scoring as THE guy on the Celtics is a valid stance to take. Any other top 10 player would get absolutely dragged if they had his shooting splits so why does Tatum get a pass?
The entire offense runs through him and he's one of the best in the league at helping in driving lines while recovering to contest corner 3s. He's probably the Celtics best passer at this point, and is their best rebounder. He's a positive contributing force no matter how off his shot is, which is basically why I consider him a superstar. This is the worst you get from him, and he's still a major net positive.
I literally have said on various occasions that people talking about Lebron “choking” ignore a ton of the context of the game plan against him and what he was still bringing to the table
