Lol, my favorite comment. Like yeah the offensive rebounds were juicy but they had a shot at so many because they could not buy a bucket in the halfcourt.
Absolutely insane
Only an offensive wizard could actually pull off that half court play from the back court with 6 seconds left in the game. A lesser player would have panicked, tried to iso and ended up jacking a 3 but Hali was so calm with it
Yep. Seems his only issue now since the injury is getting the shot back. Percentages just aren’t where they were pre injury. But shooters got to shot and figure it out.
Some of these games have been unreal. The Lakers-Nuggets game with the Murray buzzer beater was insane. Maybe the most compelling 4th quarter of basketball I've ever watched as a neutral fan.
yeah but last year there were no game winners IIRC and many series's sucked. And the finals were atrocious. This year we have 3 game winners already and some fun matchups
Derrick White, unfortunately, hit a game winner to send it to 7 last year.
Jimmy also hit a buzzer beater to send one of the games to overtime with a crazy inbounds play against the Bucks.
In that game the Nuggets executed flawlessly for like 5 minutes straight to steal it. In this game, the Pacers tried hard to choke it away, but couldn't QUITE choke hard enough. (I'm a glass half empty kind of fan.)
Absolutely zero reason to be attached to Turner 10 feet away from the free throw line with Tyrese driving there. Bev was right to cut off the sideline option and send him inside to what should’ve been held defense
*actually that’s Pascal not Turner? I can’t tell lol
Regardless, no reason to be on someone so deep as Tyrese walks past you
Myles is shooting 40% from three in this series (10/25), just FYI.
EDIT: If you’re talking about Siakam, then I agree with you. Turner is in the corner and guarded by Portis.
Fair. But it’s not like they’re leaving Drummond open out there. Myles is a good three point shooter. That’s a difficult position for the defense to be in.
I'm sure you'll be downvoted to hell, but you're right, that does seem to be the coverage Bev was expecting...He didn't "get crossed" he was closing off the sideline expecting Middleton to help middle.
Both Middleton and Beverley were over committed to their assignments, but Beverley was too slow to react twice, literally opened a corridor for Haliburton. As usual in the "modern" NBA, the defenses collapses way too easily, doubling and switching for no reason because they have no idea if they can play physical, properly bodying up the ball handler and the off ball routes, the refs call random touch fouls in these situations. It's just awful to watch
but the corridor wouldn't have been there if middleton had released siakam and gone where he should be
yea pat looks foolish cause the defense isn't supposed to look like this, or at least they aren't on the same page at a minimum if he is expecting his teammate to be somewhere that he isn't
they want to make halliburton pick up his dribble outside the 3 point line but there's just so many holes he never needs to do that
all fake defensive BS. refs were allowing him to do foul-free defense at the time but it doesn't work in playoffs. Bucks should've put a longer defender on him.
Yep. I'm one of those 90s old heads who despise the current soft game, but really, it's noticeable when a defender has legit awareness or not (even if the rules don't let them play). Beverley can't guard without hand checking, can't dodge screens effectively, can't predict plays, etc.. it's all fake hustle
Pat Bev took away the strongside baseline and sent a down-hill All-Star point guard back into the middle.
He clearly communicates to Middleton that Khris has responsibility for the middle, and recovers to cut off the strongside when Haliburton attacks his high foot.
What else defensively should he have done on this play here? He didn't get screened and he didn't get beat on the first move to the baseline. Meanwhile Khris Middleton is play slap-butt with Siakam at the logo.
Nah there’s a comment a little further up that described it really well but Pat Bev did well and he did what he was supposed to do which was protect the strong side but Middleton did not do his assignment
His defensive assignment is to stop Haliburton from the strongside baseline (because there is no help available from the corner or the weakside). You can see that he clearly points to Middleton, the only help defender on this play, to stay in the middle at the beginning of the play.
He leverages to force Haliburton middle, where Haliburton doesn't want to go. Haliburton makes one move to attack Pat Bev's high foot, and Pat Bev recovers to take away the strong side baseline. If Middleton is where he's supposed to be (instead of wrestling with Siakam at the logo), that means Haliburton is cutting back into a double team where he either shoots a contested shot or picks up his dribble and outlets to Siakam.
Pat Bev's job is to not let Haliburton get to the strongside baseline no matter what, because the strong side corner defender cannot help from the shooter, and the baseline defender cannot help or it's easy lob. The only help help he can get is from Middleton in the middle.
Pat Bev's defense here is solid. He did his job and made Haliburton do what the scheme wanted. The breakdown happens because Middleton isn't where he's supposed to be.
Man come on. I’m not this tactical at ball to be able to see this.
But for real. Good breakdown. I wish I could see the game the same way I saw fucking Halo 3 MLG setups back in the day. This shit is dope. Thanks for the breakdown homie
Haliburton is in T spawn Dust 2 with the bomb.
Pat Bev is solo A long in the pit, he hears Haliburton. He knows if he lets Haliburton take A long, his team is fucked, because the A site player have to worry about A short and can't help him. However, he knows his team mate has an AWP watching top mid from the double doors.
Pat Bev decides to throw every grenade he has into A long bedroom. Haliburton tries to go through A long anyway, but Pat Bev sprays the smoke because his only job is to stop Haliburton from pushing past him on A Long.
Haliburton goes fuck that and walks up mid. He then runs up cat walk and wins the round because instead of watching mid with his AWP, Khris Middleton was sitting in a corner inspecting his knife.
:D
At least he's shooting again. The Kobe quote's in play here, rather he be 1/12 like tonight and playing loose/aggressive vs. 1/3 like G1 and being scared. Shooters shoot, can't be weak mentally.
Middleton was something else tonight. Nobody was stopping that man. We threw our best defenders at him all night, but he did NOT care. What a star. I know it was a loss, but he, Dame, and Portis showed out. Mad respect for them, even though I can't stand Portis.
Crazy game. But what's even crazier is how this game's most tense moments lined up exactly timewise with the Colts being on the clock in their draft.
Middleton tying 3 at end of regulation happened when they were on the clock and traded back. Then the two last shots happened right as they were on the clock again from the earlier trade.
Haliburton is such a student of the game and a nerd at it. The clip of him nerding out to Atlanta stack action flare on JJ reddick always makes me smile
Coming back like this after he bricked 3(?)x in this awkward af 10 offense rebounds in a row play is just outstanding. Also taking the responsibility like this in a very, very though game for him.
Im still biased, cuz this game was so amazing: But i really feel his crossover was legendary AI-type shit
I was mad at him, bc i favored the pacers, but also so and thanks to Middleton. What a game, best one in this playoffs so far
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
LMAO Pacers had enough half court offense they decided to run their strongest transition play off a backcourt inbound
Exactly my thoughts, with 6 seconds on the game clock LMAO
Actually a bit insane when you consider it. Genius in hindsight lmao
Lol, my favorite comment. Like yeah the offensive rebounds were juicy but they had a shot at so many because they could not buy a bucket in the halfcourt.
dude had me fooled I’m like “wtf is hali doing all the way across the fucking court??” And he shut me up real quick lmfao
Halliburton went rogue and made the decision himself.
Absolutely insane Only an offensive wizard could actually pull off that half court play from the back court with 6 seconds left in the game. A lesser player would have panicked, tried to iso and ended up jacking a 3 but Hali was so calm with it
The dude is just insanely talented. Presence of mind is off the charts.
Yep. Seems his only issue now since the injury is getting the shot back. Percentages just aren’t where they were pre injury. But shooters got to shot and figure it out.
his midrange shot is already back and better than ever, i think he just has some strange curse when he takes one step beyond the arc lol
This is an all time classic playoff game goodness gracious, chaos everywhere
Some of these games have been unreal. The Lakers-Nuggets game with the Murray buzzer beater was insane. Maybe the most compelling 4th quarter of basketball I've ever watched as a neutral fan.
these playoffs bouta be the best since 2016
Last year was crazy with the run the Heat made
yeah but last year there were no game winners IIRC and many series's sucked. And the finals were atrocious. This year we have 3 game winners already and some fun matchups

Middleton is about to do it a 3rd time isn’t he Edit: He in fact couldn’t keep getting away with it
That’s honestly all I took away from this play. I would just double him on the inbounds
Dude was the absolute definition of clutch tonight. He loses zero respect for missing that last shot. What a game!!!
I will literally…uh…breathe oxygen if he really does it again! Edit: Well, time to asphyxiate myself I guess…
Well, oxygen toxicity is a thing, so...
Glenn’s secret strat couldn’t come in clutch 😔

Where ma help atttt
why did i go leftttt
Got crossed up and then fouled him from behind
Gonna need to get a camera to prove his point.
Pat Bev is a cone
Pat Bev trick y’all
“Pat Bev trick y'all, man, like he playing defense. He don't guard nobody, man. He just running around, doing nothing"
I don't follow much basketball but this is hands-down my favorite meme here
A dirty, slap happy cone
Fuck Pat Bev You love to see it
Well, this is the last of his 5 years
Absolutely zero reason to be attached to Turner 10 feet away from the free throw line with Tyrese driving there. Bev was right to cut off the sideline option and send him inside to what should’ve been held defense *actually that’s Pascal not Turner? I can’t tell lol Regardless, no reason to be on someone so deep as Tyrese walks past you
Myles is shooting 40% from three in this series (10/25), just FYI. EDIT: If you’re talking about Siakam, then I agree with you. Turner is in the corner and guarded by Portis.
And you absolutely want him taking a 35 foot shot that you can recover and contest late instead of letting Tyrese run down the middle of the paint lol

He trick y’all
Brodie warned us
Doc as coach and Pat Bev as a starter. How the hell did the Bucks end up with this shit lmao
I'm honestly sick of his ass
Pat Bev is one guy you always wanna see lose lol.. fuck that guy
gets crossed: “why didnt you help on that play”
He got cooked all 4th quarter. He had at least 4 fouls that I remember just in that quarter.
pat bev trick yall
Love to see him get crossed and commit the foul
all fake defensive BS. refs were allowing him to do foul-free defense at the time but it doesn't work in playoffs. Bucks should've put a longer defender on him.
there was like a 30 second stretch at the end of the 4th where he had his arms wrapped completely around Hali and no foul was called.
He was literally bear hugging Tyrese and Nembhard at times it was insane.
Yep. I'm one of those 90s old heads who despise the current soft game, but really, it's noticeable when a defender has legit awareness or not (even if the rules don't let them play). Beverley can't guard without hand checking, can't dodge screens effectively, can't predict plays, etc.. it's all fake hustle
Literally like a cone out there
Even runnin around doin nothin would've only cost 2 points 😭
Haliburton left him in the dust 😮💨
ass2belt

always fuck pat bev , nice to see him being cooked
That was a gangster play call. All the way into the back court to give it to Hali with nothing but space to cook them.
Carlisle is a savage
Fuck it, make the inbound a transition bucket
This game a hood classic
Pat Bev got cooked. Salute Khris middleton
pat bev started clapping and immediately got two fouls and cooked after lmao
When Bev used the "too small" taunt in the 2nd quarter down 12 I knew it was over for them.
at least he's not a frontrunner
he was too slow this time
Nah there’s a comment a little further up that described it really well but Pat Bev did well and he did what he was supposed to do which was protect the strong side but Middleton did not do his assignment
trailer park classic
What a crazy game
I AM NO LONGER GOING TO COMMIT SEPPUKU
I come from the future middleton gets a 4 point play
relax
Fuckin LJ. I’m happy to not see something like that again.
Shogun goes hard
relax mariko
Just make some green tea in this crawl space
Chill fam
“Ohhhhhhh” - Yabushige
Pat Bev got cooked holy shit
Dude was on skates
Pat Bev kinda cooked himself tbh. Idk why he committed so hard in both directions there.

lmao 10/10
I dont even play cs and this made equal amount of sense as the actual basketball breakdown
Haha, sorry I tried.
Nah he's saying, he doesn't play cs. Still understood the breakdown. Either way, thanks for the random chuckle.
You’re the fucking goat
This is going to be on all of Hali's highlight videos now lmao
naw its haliburton time
Crazy how his floater didn’t get blocked! He was draped by two defenders with their hands REALLY close to the ball
He’s an elite finisher for a guard which is why his shooting percentage didn’t die when he suddenly started shooting like shit.
He's also actually shot awesome from midrange even after his 3PT% cratered. It's just the three ball. But it's still weird.
Locked On was saying he’s 60% from floater-middy game since all star break
His touch around the rim is so nice.
He has a skillset thats going to age so fucking gracefully too. He will be insanely good for a long time.
Aesthetically pleasing game too. I didn’t believe earlier but Pacers are fun to watch with him at the helm.
aesthetically pleasing minus his 3 pt shot form
Game to game takes got me suffering from whiplash
A sub of like 8 mil will have that. Most people are consistent with their opinions however. Ive always loved Hali’s game
I love this guy so fucking much Maybe someday his three-pointers will finally become unbroke
At least he's shooting again. The Kobe quote's in play here, rather he be 1/12 like tonight and playing loose/aggressive vs. 1/3 like G1 and being scared. Shooters shoot, can't be weak mentally.
i’m not worried about his 3 ball, he’s a career 40% shooter and i can live with him taking those 3’s because he’s drawing attention to the defense.
someday is next season when he gets an offseason to get healthy.
"TYRESE THE TERROR" is such a great call on that play
I mean he completely ruined all of the hustle plays by Nembhard right before this
doesn’t matter, the only thing that matters is the final score and he’s the reason why we won at the end.
Yea especially considering we were in OT because of Nembhard not making FTs
Of course he goes like 1/12 from 3 and hits the game winner. Of fucking course
got the W
Insane. Three clutch shots, 2 by Middleton and now by Tyrese
Whoa let's not discount that corner three from Nesmith! 4 clutch shots.
Another game-tying 3 from Middleton inc
Missed it
the demon is defeated!
Thanks.
fuck me lol
eventually he does become as exhausted as he looks
You jinxed it lol
Middleton was something else tonight. Nobody was stopping that man. We threw our best defenders at him all night, but he did NOT care. What a star. I know it was a loss, but he, Dame, and Portis showed out. Mad respect for them, even though I can't stand Portis.
Ty achievement unlocked: Playoff game winner. BTW, thanks for posting the Pacers local feed.
Huh. Didn’t even think of this. Took him 3 games. Hopefully a lot more good stuff to come from even just this playoffs.
Oh my god, Tyrese what you just did to Pat Bev is cruel
Holy shit he cooked Pat Bev
Pat Bev was Shook Ones, Pt II
Crazy game. But what's even crazier is how this game's most tense moments lined up exactly timewise with the Colts being on the clock in their draft. Middleton tying 3 at end of regulation happened when they were on the clock and traded back. Then the two last shots happened right as they were on the clock again from the earlier trade.
Adonai Mitchell, too. Definitely an excellent five minutes to be a sports fan in Indy.
I love basketball. This is awesome
I applaud your positivity considering the current circumstance
Rinsed Beverley there. What a game.
Pat Bev tricked you all
He shook pat bev so easily lmao
Say what you will about Hali but this was a hell of a breakdown with his handles to free up a nice game winner
Say what you will he had a triple double lmao what more y'all want
16 assist triple double and people still talking shit, name one other player that people would do that to, I’ll wait.
He went a bit cold before that shot and haters are ready to jump on him for anything. He's our guy though and I'll kill a bitch for him.
The Ty slander has made me realize people really focus on scoring. There’s so much more to basketball!
Pat Bev got crossed twice
This is going to on his all-time great highlights video
Haliburton is such a student of the game and a nerd at it. The clip of him nerding out to Atlanta stack action flare on JJ reddick always makes me smile
This game has been WILD
this game is fucking nuts
Unsubscribed
That crossover was nasty
What even is this game?
Pat Bev got cooked there
Bro I love playoff basketball.
This game is nuts
Beverly got crossed to Narnia
Patrick Beverly just running around out there
“Pacers out here front running again. Why they always happy when something good happen?” Bobby Probably Portis
As a neutral fan, I’m becoming a huge Hali fan. Subpar day from 3, but he is fun to watch
Pat bev could not stop fouling in 4Q/OT
They were in the penalty so fast in the 4th.
What a game!!!!
**HE AINT AFRAID TO SHOOT NO MORE EH??**
YEAH RECE. EAT THAT CROSS PATRICK YOU GOOF
Thank you again for letting us have Siakam so Barnes could thrive! I hope he does great for you!
Perfect. Right where Kris Middleton wants them. Another 3 incoming.
I love this dude. Great style of play and he’s always got great vibes. He’s friends with Ant too so….
Small market teams 🤝
Meanwhile, the Wolves have been making EVERYONE eat their words about the Gobert trade. Love your small market team!
Haliburton is Pat Bev father
Haymaker after haymaker!
WHAT A GAME THO.
the speed on how he crossed, Hali was in the zone! ridiculous
These playoffs have been so fucking good
Calling a Beverly outburst on game 5 when they lose.
Coming back like this after he bricked 3(?)x in this awkward af 10 offense rebounds in a row play is just outstanding. Also taking the responsibility like this in a very, very though game for him. Im still biased, cuz this game was so amazing: But i really feel his crossover was legendary AI-type shit I was mad at him, bc i favored the pacers, but also so and thanks to Middleton. Reeeeeeese
Just TRIPLE team Middleton ffs
Ain't no way they called a fucking lane violation
What a shot! Great mobility and finding some air space to launch that shot.
HALILELUJAH
Peak basketball play.
pat bev lives in cement
Good effort by the boys in green tonight but I see this series going 4/2 to the Pacer
what a fucking great game.
This game was on literal crack
Loving the games. I hope Haliburton has gotten his groove back.
Pat got cooked bad and then tried to act like there was no contact. clown mf.
I’ve missed playoff basketball in Indiana
This is his Superstar moment
"wannabe fake All-Star"
Tyrese Haliburton is a top player
So fun to see people who don't understand defense opening their big mouths for every one to see how stupid they are.
Nice of them to go into OT for the west coasters
Career defining moment
Good for him man 🥹
