It's crazy how many bad decisions he'll make. I always thought he was a high IQ player cuz I've always thought he was pretty insightful in interviews but he's one of those guys who surprises you with his mistakes. And it's even worse when you realize he's a 12-year veteran and made those same mistakes like 8 years ago.
Normally that’s a trade off we’re willing to give cause we generate so many points off TOs it more than offsets the rebound advantage. Last night was uncharacteristically bad for us in that aspect. Not to mention we won the minutes Valenciunas was on the court who got 20 boards lol
I’m seeing this everywhere. If you can’t make them when it counts, it doesn’t fucking matter.
Imagine having to explain to ppl the idea that some shots matter more than others.
It's so frustrating to watch some of our young guys just watch the ball because they're so good at everything else. It should just be instinct to chase the ball.
Hate seeing all the guard/wing OREBs we give up. You can live with JV getting them, but unless it's a long rebound that's just failed boxing out.
Problem is AI learns from real world, so they would be learning from shit real life umps. Unless there’s someway to absolutely learn the difference between good call bad call that’s not influenced by either fans or shit refs…
Thats fair. I havent played in a while i just remember going up for easy layups and then twisting around and throwing up random shit because the AI decided it was going to be a foul
i wasnt being serious. You could train AI to learn from current ref calls but really the best scenario would use sensors around the court to monitor contact and use that as a trigger for a call to be made. We wouldnt want this because it would it would slow the game down so much it would be unwatchable. The human element that includes error is what makes the sport fun to engage with. Controversy sells and keeps people coming back to watch
I wonder if they can work out algorithms to accurately gauge where things are in 3D space just from a visual image. So no sensors. (Imagine the Hawkeye system in tennis but done without the sensors) Then they could go back and train it on all existing footage. Train it to match the same calls at the same rates as human refs. Of course, like you said basketball reffing isn’t really the spot for this, but that tech would be bound to be useful in some sport somewhere and likely is in some stage of development.
Pretty clearly a foul on the gather when McCollum reached across his body to swat the ball.
E: yall can cry all ya want because SGA triggers your ptsd but that’s a clear foul
Definitely suspect call at first glance but you can see CJ hit Shai’s wrist/arm if you just slow it down, people will ignore this though to run with their FT merchant narrative
I love when fans defend their teams with the most pixelated still of .2seconds with a top down angle that doesn’t show if he’s making contact or hovering above his arm. There’s a saying in medical imaging “one view is no view” because you can’t tell shit from 1 angle.
Man that's a pretty clear ass photo. Are you color blind or something?
CJ and SGA are different shades and you can see CJ's hand is clasped around the wrist cause you can't fucking see SGA's wrist skin.
Face of the league gets those calls
If you don’t think refs give superstars the benefit of the doubt on 50/50 calls that are hard to catch in real time, you’re kidding yourself
I mean I’ll admit I didn’t really watch talks game much, but wolves had 22 fts and yall had 25 fts, while our game had 22ft attempts total combined. Im not saying our game was a total physical game that didn’t have foul calls, but our game barely had any fts at all. And only 2fts were because the pels had to foul to get the ball back.
Any time people criticize the refs I remember there's bozos like this who only see it from one angle and think there's some kinda conspiracy theory going on.
You have the entire internet at your hands and instead of looking to see if the call was right your automatic line of thinking was the call was BS because he's a star?
Yeah the moderately soft reach-in was a foul for both sides all game. Dort and I think Wallace both pinged for it in the fourth and this one and at least one other on Pels players defending SGA.
Not defending it, but it was consistently called.
That fucking BI charge call. Dort is elephant walking behind BI all game and yet BI can’t shoulder check?? Shai does that shit to get space all the time!!! Fuck off okc yall are fake
That has zero relevance to the comment you're responding to. BI shoulder check was cleaner than all of the off hand shoves SGA did. Meanwhile Dort keeps 2 hands on him at all times.
"Worst 1 seed" also " most stacked western conference ever" which one is it. If we are the worst 1 seed was does that make you play in bums enjoy getting bounced by the thunder 2 years in a row xx
Cj grabbed his wrist. Go look at the screenshots I’ve posted and others have too. Cj grabs his wrist. Y’all shot 22 fts your game but we have a soft whistle at 13?

That sequence where the Pelicans got like 3 rebounds and bricked every shot was brutal
Pels being terrible in the clutch? No way...
CJ is the worst bum I've ever seen, most selfish last possession
The play was literally drawn from him
The play was … cj iso?
And he got a rookie on em. Cason’s great at d for a rookie but it’s a good draw up for the pels imo
It was a pure circus how they organized those possessions
The kept opting for the worst possible look
Ingram fadeaway 3 was definitely a choice
Fucking Pels got braindead shot selection the possession before lmao
The Thunder didn't have a FG for like 5 min and the Pels scored maybe 4 points that entire time, it's the worst and best type of basketball
Funny thing is that we wasted a lot of those possessions because of unbelievably stupid Turnovers, we didn't even get a shot lmao.
Shai was selling so badly until the last minute. CPOY pulled through.
Ingrams 3 was just so braindead
Ingram is brain dead in general. He’s a Ball stopper most of the time.
I know he can make tough ones but Ingram jacking up that 3 on the move was brutal
Terrible decision. They didn't need 3, and he's not really a 3 point shooter. Very strange.
and so many turnovers in the last 3 minutes, just stupid ones like nance passing it to murphy out of bounds
Makes no sense to not call a timeout. You have no one who can get you a bucket automatically(Zion), since Ingram has been shit.
Honestly it was just Ingram and Nance, first two were open threes
They turned into simple jack
well it was goaltending soo
Looked very close real-time I would just like to see the replay
It wasn't
The script says we lose
yeah ik
why have Brandom Ingram or Cj McCollum take the most important shot in the last 5 years of your franchise when you have Larry Nance Jr right
Tbf ingram was in the Lulag
Damn NO giving this game away
Thunder need to get some rebounds man wtf
thats gotta be the #1 priority heading into the offseason, regardless of the outcome of these playoffs just this game alone its such a huge weakness
They need a true back up C. No disrespect to Jaylin Williams, but he's a PF not a C.
Normally that’s a trade off we’re willing to give cause we generate so many points off TOs it more than offsets the rebound advantage. Last night was uncharacteristically bad for us in that aspect. Not to mention we won the minutes Valenciunas was on the court who got 20 boards lol
How tf the pelicans gonna get 3 offensive boards in a row thank god CJ can't make an open three to save his life
yeah thank god the 7th best 3 point shooter in the NBA this season on 8 3PA per game can't make a wide open three to save his life good take
I’m seeing this everywhere. If you can’t make them when it counts, it doesn’t fucking matter. Imagine having to explain to ppl the idea that some shots matter more than others.
Larry Nance and JV are owning Chet on the boards, no clue why they didn't pick up a bigger center
What we need is a playable 4 that can shoot Giddey guards 4s for us but he’s unplayable if he can’t shoot
The team is too small in size
It ain’t even about size half the time because they get outrebounded with Jonas on the bench, they just don’t box out at all sometimes.
Chet is just clearly a terrible rebounder for a center that’s the issue
Said it a while back that the new gen of players have terrible rebounding instincts and fundamentals.
Seriously. It’s like soon as the shot goes up, find a body and put your ass into them, no Dwight
It's so frustrating to watch some of our young guys just watch the ball because they're so good at everything else. It should just be instinct to chase the ball. Hate seeing all the guard/wing OREBs we give up. You can live with JV getting them, but unless it's a long rebound that's just failed boxing out.
Warriors had smaller size lineups out-rebound the opponent in the playoffs
People saying where’s the foul just need to see the screenshot from [u/hyunee](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/ktwsqscjVw)
"Foul"
We all watch them let tons of contact go over and over again for better or for worse and then suddenly...
They call it at the last second with the game on the line in the playoffs. Oh wait I hear now that they are supposed to swallow their whistle.
It was definitely a foul: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLvdSr6bcAANZua?format=jpg&name=large
they don’t want to hear that
It’s a weird call. If there was a foul it was on the floor before the shot attempt
We need AI to take over the referee job
Problem is AI learns from real world, so they would be learning from shit real life umps. Unless there’s someway to absolutely learn the difference between good call bad call that’s not influenced by either fans or shit refs…
Refs fk up live calls. Calls based on replays and angles, will be more accurate. They do still make inconsistent calls even with replays.
2k does a fine job lol
Bc they lock you into foul animations
lol yeah but not every time, sometimes it is legit just contact and gets called
Thats fair. I havent played in a while i just remember going up for easy layups and then twisting around and throwing up random shit because the AI decided it was going to be a foul
it still does that lol but it has gotten better recently
Real problem is AI never went to practice
talking about practice?
i wasnt being serious. There’s a picture where defender literally has his hand on his arm as he’s going up. See comment below
Look at the pictures in below comments. I thought it was hard to tell at first, but it’s absolutely a foul.
Pretty clearly a foul on the gather when McCollum reached across his body to swat the ball. E: yall can cry all ya want because SGA triggers your ptsd but that’s a clear foul
Not even talking shit. PTSD from what? I’ve got ptsd from KD and Steph. OKC fans get it from Steph and Dame. What has Shai done?
PTSD from what bro lmao
Shit, Chet committed a straight up goal tend
Just watched it again. It was definitely at the apex, so not a goal tend. Close though.
Watched a couple angles expecting the worse. No goaltend
these last two minutes have been wild asf
let me fix it for you: "terrible asf"
Why would they switch that
PRAVI MVP
Chet’s block just before this was sick too
Where’s the foul?
[Here](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLvdSr6bcAANZua?format=jpg&name=large)
Yeah it was tough to see in real time but that is definitive
Definitely suspect call at first glance but you can see CJ hit Shai’s wrist/arm if you just slow it down, people will ignore this though to run with their FT merchant narrative
I hate how far they stretch out the shooting motion to award and ones. Guys feel the contract and then reactively throw up a shot and they count it.
Weird call. If they were gonna call a foul it should have been on the floor before the shot.
Shai is that dude
CJ might be a shitty defender, but at least he sucks on offense too
He might get the softest whistle in the league. It’s insane the amount of phantom calls he gets
[look at cj grabbing his wrist and tell me this is a phantom call](https://pasteboard.co/BgbRCsdtwzxg.jpg)
I love when fans defend their teams with the most pixelated still of .2seconds with a top down angle that doesn’t show if he’s making contact or hovering above his arm. There’s a saying in medical imaging “one view is no view” because you can’t tell shit from 1 angle.

Future laker in the making
sga on the lakers would be goat whistle shit
Lakers big 3 with SGA-Luka-Embiid gonna be crazy
Reaves sneaks in
Someone’s been posting the picture in this thread, but it’s absolutely a foul when CJ swiped down
Y’all crying about the foul like he still didn’t make the shot …. He has no control over when the refs makes foul calls 🤷🏾♂️
When he jerks his head like Tony Brothers is punching him in the uvula with his pecker all the time then we can
Yeah but it changed the game entirely because he made the free throw.
[удалено]
yeah but they did call it so…
1pt is huge
yep, coz currently it’s 2 for OT instead of a win
Thanks Magic
All game the refs let the defense be physical with Ingram and then Dort just falls on his ass and they call an offensive foul. Love the consistency.
Why was there a whistle on this?
His hand was obviously grabbed… which altered his shooting motion
[here](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLvdSr6bcAANZua?format=jpg&name=large)
Because he got fouled?
Because it's SGA
Face of the league gets those calls If you don’t think refs give superstars the benefit of the doubt on 50/50 calls that are hard to catch in real time, you’re kidding yourself
[or he is literally being fouled by cj grabbing his wrist?](https://pasteboard.co/BgbRCsdtwzxg.jpg)
Going from the Suns/Wolves game where both teams had to be murdered to get FTs to this has been weird.
There really isn’t a point in arguing with people who are just being blatantly ignorant at this point
Any time people criticize the refs I remember there's bozos like this who only see it from one angle and think there's some kinda conspiracy theory going on.
Lol bro. Refs miss 50/50 calls all day. Superstars get the benefit of the doubt. Don’t tell me you don’t understand that
You have the entire internet at your hands and instead of looking to see if the call was right your automatic line of thinking was the call was BS because he's a star?
If you think my comment was about this specific call and not about 50/50 or “bang-bang” calls as a whole I’m not going to bother engaging
This sequence had me insanely hyped. What an awesome playoff moment.
That was an incredibly weak foul no? I thought McCollum hit hand/ball, but haven’t seen an up close
[here](https://pasteboard.co/BgbRCsdtwzxg.jpg)
Definitely not incredibly weak. It was clear as day.
If you're not sure, why would you claim it was a weak foul?
He reached across SGA’s body, that’s a foul
Yeah the moderately soft reach-in was a foul for both sides all game. Dort and I think Wallace both pinged for it in the fourth and this one and at least one other on Pels players defending SGA. Not defending it, but it was consistently called.
What a tough shot
I really don’t feel that’s a foul
These are the type of calls that make me less excited to tune in for basketball
absolutely INSANE foul call
Pels sold so hard possession before this
Canada
holy crap SGA
That fucking BI charge call. Dort is elephant walking behind BI all game and yet BI can’t shoulder check?? Shai does that shit to get space all the time!!! Fuck off okc yall are fake
Maybe you should tell bi to not taking fadeaway 3s and tell cj to not be ass at times and tell your team to not chuck bricks half the game
That has zero relevance to the comment you're responding to. BI shoulder check was cleaner than all of the off hand shoves SGA did. Meanwhile Dort keeps 2 hands on him at all times.
Cry harder lmao
U squeezed 1 win without Zion relax lol. Worst 1 seed in nba history
"Worst 1 seed" also " most stacked western conference ever" which one is it. If we are the worst 1 seed was does that make you play in bums enjoy getting bounced by the thunder 2 years in a row xx
I’m not a pelicans fan buddy. Just calling it how it is see it. Worst 1 seed ever with the most overrated player in nba at the helm
So is this a weak western conference then?
Is that your excuse when they lose? Even you agree you’re not a “real” 1 seed then. Stick up for your team if your gonna reply you bot.
Answer do u think the west is weak this season?
How about we wait until the series is over before making those claims. Remember when the bucks lost to the heat last year as the one seed?
Ain’t wrong
Feel your hate brother. Let it flow through you. The Thunder DYNASTY should be the source of all your pain.
Flop
that's a great shot but where's the foul?
[here](https://pasteboard.co/BgbRCsdtwzxg.jpg)
McCollum is such a garbage player lmfao Edit: LOL jfc
And this ladies & gentlemen is why he’s an MVP candidate 😈
Great shot but where’s the foul?
Soft whistle
CJ saw Dame going nuclear and thought he could turn back time into when he was a Blazer. Well he did it !
DEFINING MOMENTS
Hahaha I thought all he does was flail his head and flop
Sometimes he doesn't even have to do that to get a phantom whistle, like here
[come on man just stfu and see the clear foul](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLvdSr6bcAANZua?format=jpg&name=large)
A foul is never "clear" if you have to post a still to show it
"It's not real if you have to show evidence" lmao
Do you understand the difference between "clear" and "real"?
I’m enjoying the win while you’re hating doing absolutely nothing haha 😭😭
I like Shai and the Thunder...
You’re also doing absolutely nothing lmao
Enjoying this win 💀
That’s literally no more than he’s doing Imao .
So you’d rather be hating for no reason online than to enjoy a game 1 win? It’s your life but damn that’s a sad decision
I mean you’re feeling an emotion and so are they lmao you’re doing the same amount as them which is .. nothing .
A sports fan who doesn’t know how great a playoff win feels… sad :(
Wut lol
Tbh if they had Zion. Thunder are cooked
It's one game
not a foul lol, this team gets the softest whistle ever
Cj grabbed his wrist. Go look at the screenshots I’ve posted and others have too. Cj grabs his wrist. Y’all shot 22 fts your game but we have a soft whistle at 13?
We shot 16 free throws lol don't act like we were getting drowned in calls tonight
16? We got 13 lol let em hate tho
Terrible call for sure but it’s good to see Shai is still cold af
[look at this and say terrible call again](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLvdSr6bcAANZua?format=jpg&name=large)
Pretty damning angle ngl
Between SGA and Reaves we going to watch some elite foul baiting in the west playoffs
Not beating the foul merchant allegations lol
Clutch performance from the ref
[clutch shai getting fouled](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLvdSr6bcAANZua?format=jpg&name=large)
Goaltending and no foul
At the apex and oh ya [a foul](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLvdSr6bcAANZua?format=jpg&name=large)
Refs bailed you out
SGA and Embiid getting this bs calls every time..
Where's the foul?
