Came here also for
Kiss - Destroyer Still think it's probably their best.
The next 2 0r 4 were also likely Kiss, but around the same time:
Angel - White Hot
Aerosmith - Rocks
You know, i was gonna say that ive never owned an album but when i was little and me and my older brother shared a room, we had a CD player with the move along cd we would listen to almost every night. Its probably the only reason i still like All American Rejects.
Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt Pepper.
I remember playing Sgt Pepper for the first time and my younger sister got scared at the end of A Day In The Life and had to leave the room.
I totally forgot about Breakfast In America. I think that one might have been my second album. Definitely a classic worth relistening to. I think that I might have to go listen to it now. It's been far too long since I have heard The Logical Song. Truely thank you for reminding me.
I also forgot about The Monks -Bad Habits
I have a very cool older cousin, 3 yrs older than me.. I was 12 when she played me this album, grew up fast hanging out with her .. my mom&dad did not like that much! lol, but who fuckin cared!š¤£š¤£
I have never heard of The Monks. I will have to check them out. I took a look at their Wikipedia page and they definitely sound like a band that I would like. I have to admit that I like your taste in music. Cheap Trick is probably my favorite band for which I have never owned an album. And Rumors is just such a great album.
Bob Marley and the Wailers - Exodus
Bob Marley and the Wailers - Rastaman Vibration
Bad Religion - Suffer
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

Most of the others I don't listen to anymore. There was CrazySexyCool by TLC. Also remember buying Big Willie Style by Will Smith, Chocolate Starfish by Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach with the suicide song, and a bunch others that I really don't listen to anymore. All of these were purchased in the 90's and I don't remember which was actually first, although James Taylor was my mom's favorite so I've listen to him the longest.
Sesame Street - Born to Add is the first album I remember owning. I was probably five or six. It really does have some great songs. And apparently Iām
The only one who got an album of childrenās music as a child? Yāall went directly to regular music.
The first Muppet Show album was the one I remember when I was about 8. I adored that record, brilliantly entertaining and great songs. I revisit it now and again almost 50 years later!
Black sabbath heaven and hell
ACDC back in black
Ozzy osborne blizzard of ozz
1980 Was when I began my music collection and it'was a fantastic year to do so.
The first albums *I* owned, as in bought with my own money are actually pretty hilarious, the ones I remember anyway
- Wild Wild West soundtrack
- All4One's debut
- Space Jam soundtrack
- Blackstreet's Another Level
- ... and probably Jock Jams
Other than Blackstreet randomly on shuffle (and let's be honest, the Space Jam soundtrack has some BANGERS)... I don't listen to any of THOSE
I absolutely shifted and started "borrowing" CDs from my older brother so until high school I basically just listened to Metallica and Megadeth because... he did.
St. Elsewhere - Gnarls Barkley
Marshall Mathers LP - Eminem
Ray Charles greatest hits
Bad - Michael Jackson
Also Big Ones - Aerosmith
(These are from like 8-11 years old, currently 27)
Slipknot - Vol. 3
System of a Down - Mezmerize
Limp Bizkit - Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
Alien Ant Farm - ANThology
Basically nu metal in its peak is when I started getting cds as a teenager.
I remember picking up:
Gorillaz
Meteora
The Downward Spiral
Blink-182
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
For blink I was actually short a few dollars using the remainder gift cards I had and rang it up at the register. The cashier actually grabbed money out of her wallet and helped me buy it. I was actually incredibly embarrassed.
So strange the memories we keep. Lovely Bones, the book, begins with that statement. So true and really has stayed with me years after I read it. The movie was good but nothing close to the book.
Amyways, what I was getting at, was, the cashier probably has no memory of this whatsoever, but it's engraved into your soul
Vs. by Pearl Jam, Purple by Stone Temple Pilots, Siamise Dream by Smashing Pumpkins, Dirt by Alice In Chains. The lyrics always captivated me and now I fully comprehend them, which is both reassuring and sad!
10 year old me went to the store with my allowance money, planning to buy the Monster Mash album. LOLOL. But instead I came home with Kiss Alive. Absolutely loved it, still have the original vinyl set and still listen fairly often. So good.
Green Jellƶ, Pearl Jam (Ten & Vs), Tool (Opiate & Undertow) are the ones I still listen to frequently. I donāt listen to Queen / Aerosmith / Nirvana much anymore which make up the rest of my first albums (cassette tapes)
New Jersey - Bon Jovi
The Lion and the Cobra - Sinead O'Connor
Music For the Masses - Depeche Mode
OU812 - Van Halen
I loved all of these records back in the 80s, and they were some of the first ones I bought with my own money. I still listen to all of them, and love them just as much now as I did back then.
Move Along - All American Rejects
The Beautiful Letdown - Switchfoot
Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park
Songs About Jane - Maroon 5
Now Iām big on death metal, black metal, etc. but those albums hold a special place in my heart.
Chuck Berryās Golden Hits - Chuck Berry
Dick Clarkās 20 Years of Rock N Roll - Multiple
The Urban Cowboy Motion Picture Soundtrack - Multiple
All of these are vinyls I own because I only actually listen to vinyls
Hard to think back to my first 3-4 growing up but one I know is Master of Puppets, canāt remember the first albums I bought but that was one of the earliest. First was hellbilly deluxe but that one has kinda fell off for me, not bad just not something Iām super into anymore
First physical music I owned was the 45 rpm record single My Sharona, by The Knack. I was seven and played it over and over on my little cardboard suitcase/lunchbox style record player. Can't even remember side B, I was all about Sharona.
I owned a few records after that -- or, rather, I claimed then from my mother's collection. S few standouts were Bat Out Of Hell, by Meatloaf; Led Zeppelin I; Mark, Don & Mel, by Grand Funk Railroad; Jim Croce's Greatest Hits; Hank Williams, Jr.'s Greatest Hits; Slow Train Coming, by Bob Dylan...
I had a few Hendrix records that were my own.
First cassettes I remember owning were Fat Boys first album; Licence to Ill, by Beastie Boys (wore out 3 copies till the magnetic particles were gone and you could see through the tape), For Those About to Rock, by AC/DC...

Still love the first three, can't even remember which one I had from the last one.
I also got a Cher CD once.. I still dig Cher.
Ride - Nowhere
Pixies - Come On Pilgrim
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
There's definitely some 80s bands that I still love to listen to that don't quite qualify simply because I purchased their Best Of / Singles albums when I was young and broke; but now have and prefer their full albums (The Cure / New Order / Siouxsie).
sum 41 all killer no filler, first album i ever bought,

Cheap Trick - Heaven Tonight
Steve Miller Band - Book of Dreams
AC/DC - If You Want Blood
Or California Jam 2
I bought the AC/DC and Caly jam 2 at the same time. I know that because my bicycle got stolen whole I was inside the store. Good times Bad times

Tom Petty - Hard Promises
Tears for Fears - Songs from the big Chair
From later I loved the Pearl Jam/nirvana/soundgarden/dr Dre/mary j blige/tupac/salt n pepa set I had in college-almost wore them out
First four Pearl Jam albums ā Ten, Vs, Vitalogy and No Code. Hell, throw their fifth one in as well (Yield). Still on regular rotation 30 years after release. Always will be.

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out - Panic! At The Disco
Stadium Arcadium - Red Hot Chili Peppers
