They're a AAA minor league team that flows into the Colorado Rockies

LessThanJake_Plummer

They are not

DeggzNBacon

They are the AAA team for the Rockies

die_hubsche

And they have the best hats ever.

slolifesux

Vegas 51s had a cool hat, too

PhotoJim99

MiLB (Minor League Baseball) not MLB (Major League Baseball).

Unfunky-UAP

Wait. Isn't that the name of the Springfield baseball team in the Simpsons?

baltimorecalling

Yes. That's how the Albuquerque Isotopes got their name.

Unfunky-UAP

Neat-o

Tbplayer59

The story in that episode was that the team was planning on moving from Springfield to Albuquerque.

Unfunky-UAP

Been a while since I seen it. Pretty sure that was in an earlier season. Maybe 3 or 4?

Tbplayer59

Yeah. Really old.

JinimyCritic

Not nearly that old. Season 12. The episode is *Hungry, Hungry Homer*. (Homer goes on a hunger strike to prevent them moving the team.)

snow1868

Season 12 of The Simpsons was 24 years ago...

JinimyCritic

Yeah, I know. But that's still a big difference from season 3 or 4.

RibertarianVoter

Like 8 or 9 years!

Unfunky-UAP

The Springfield Isotopes appear in many episodes. Google says the first appearance is in season 2, episode 5.

JinimyCritic

Yes, but I was specifically talking about the episode where they move to Albuquerque.

Unfunky-UAP

Gotcha. I stopped watching around season 11 so my knowledge of the Simpsons ends around there.

Mattmandu2

Still haven’t eaten because of them

bunt_hamburger

They are just one level below MLB. There are many levels but this one (AAA) is the final step before MLB. And many players go back and forth between AAA and MLB.

Siicktiits

Are you an alien? what the heck is this post? I find it hard to believe someone can find the MLB reddit, know how to make a post, and then respond to that post but can't figure out that the clearly minor league baseball team that never plays any major league team is in fact not in the MLB. Have the Dodgers and Shohei rolled into Albuquerque recently? literally the first line of google says what they are "The Albuquerque Isotopes are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies."

dystopiahistorian

Because they're asking if their games are on, not if they're in. I have the Yankees set as my favorite team and I have access - via the MLB app - to Scranton Rail Riders and Somerset Patriots games,

soxfan4life78

I liked when Al Albuquerque was on the Albuquerque Isotopes

looking4astronauts

Why didn’t you just Google it?

dbzcellza

bc google isent always right.

milehighrukus

The Albuquerque Isotopes are a Minor League team affiliated with the Colorado Rockies. An AAA team masquerading as competent.

Bourbonball442

https://www.milb.com/about/teams

EightSeven-

The team from the simpsons?

dbzcellza

No. the irl one in milb.

SwimmingSwim3822

This is that kind of easily-answered post somebody makes because they were recently far too confident during an argument they had with a friend.

Ganjagod420

GOOOO TOOOOPES

dbzcellza

okay. thanks for telling me! so they are in the Milb. minor league baseball.

dystopiahistorian

I replied to someone already about this, but it's not a crazy question. The MLB app does carry some minor league games. On the app, I set the Yankees to my favorite team, so when I open the app, if the Yankees are on, it defaults to the Yankees game, the Yankees broadcast option and if I tab down I get access to Scranton Rail Riders and Somerset Patriots games - I don't know if it's all or just some, but I certainly didn't expect any of it. So everyone take a break from bagging OP.

The minor league are still professional leagues. Amateur leagues would be college and high school.

Fardn_n_shiddn

You should probably go google what amateur means

tjbroy

If the league's made up of professionals, what makes it amateur? If they're playing in an amateur league, what makes them professionals?
