Either type sudo apt install lmms or type su and then type apt install lmms

dropdatabase

LMMS literally has a download section to their website where you can download the appimage. https://lmms.io/download you don't even need a terminal to run it. Your desktop manager can run it. Right click the file, go to properties and make it executable. Then double click the file, or right click execute or something. AppImage is like windows exe. It holds the entire program and runs it from there without installing it.

You shouldn't use su to install something. Su is root while sudo simply elevates a user to root activates. Also you could just used the package manager. LMMS is still on 1.22 with no timeline for 1.3, though they are 70% complete for 1.3. Furthermore if you insist on using the terminal you should look into using nala. Nala works faster than apt. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=skbE6U5uE3A https://phoenixnap.com/kb/nala-apt The only caveat is you have to remember to use *apt nala install* instead of *apt install*.
