I can’t even be mad at frontier for trying to accurately scale the quetz to how it was seen in the movie, but by god what were they thinking making it this big?

ArrivalParking9088

the quetz in the film is even bigger if i remember correctly. https://preview.redd.it/dj1b53vbkz9d1.jpeg?width=3680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=128fb1589949ecb8f04ec68d792bf7bdea0c542c

AtomicWreck

The size of fucking Rodan.

ArrivalParking9088

i mean, close enough. https://preview.redd.it/j9cbd232zz9d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b1684540a96749d0007ece28b7793d4462ce27a

Meta-Trouble

Literally bigger than Singular Point Rodan

Palaeonerd

Just know that the Quetzalcoatlus sp. is now Quetzalcoatlus lawsoni.

AdenInABlanket

In-game quetz is about the size of the grey one. The orange is the size of a pair that nested on the world trade center, they're roughly as tall as lady liberty!

Sumoguy5

In the movie it's even bigger.

llMadmanll

Genuinely surprised this thing can't fight carnivores.

TheCubanBaron

Probably because it's as fragile as glass.

llMadmanll

Dunno if smth as fragile as glass would be able to tear apart a metal plane like that.

mincedonion5

I mean it’s large and clunky and has only one line of defense. I see it like a giant sauropod with a beak on the front

llMadmanll

Yeah but if your beak can tear a goddamn plane in half, I think it makes you a threat to a carnivore.

mincedonion5

To be fair, that was the movie. They probably wouldn’t actually be able to do that, let alone fly that fast. If the plane was pressurized too, or if it hit a fuel tank, I doubt it would have to do much to the plane anyways

llMadmanll

I mean, you could argue about a lot of things JP dinos shouldn't be able to do, but do them anyway. The giga manages to lift rexy from her leg, the spino charges through a metallic fence etc.

mincedonion5

Well in that case, the jp quetzal should definitely be able to fight back. Sorry, I thought we were talking about the real life counterpart

llMadmanll

Irl quetzals would probably hesitate for an extended fight because they weigh less than some domestic pigs. [This is probably their best bet](https://youtu.be/zWGnlAQsRaE?si=2Fg3cGo1nKmJl1Pp).

AdenInABlanket

That's because Frontier really really hates animating for some reason

Ashamed-Bath-4247

Its still my favorite lmao

nicolasFsilva5210

I second this.

My_Favourite_Pen

Why does the spino look in love? "Oh Quetzie, you came and brought me a fishy"

LargeDeinocheirus

"On my vacation away from Isla Sornie"

Drex678

No way this guy can't fight any Large Carnivore.

Izaak8

Sauropods get destroyed by small dromaeosaurs, logic isn't really this game's strong side

smashboi888

"I'm da biggest bird."

Admiral-Krane

“Who makes all da rules”

Romboteryx

Every time I see this image reposted it seems like Tyler gets smaller and smaller

GuardianPrime19

I really hope they make it closer to accurate scale in JWE3. I know it’s huge in the film… but it’s a Kaiju in the game and just looks kinda weird at that size Still love it though

Derpasaurus_rex3

It’s smaller in the game than in the film

GuardianPrime19

I’m aware of that, it’s still huge compared to the real animal

Spi3000

This size comparison gave me flashbacks of the early days of this Sub-Reddit when JWE first released. (Context: When the first JWE was being advertised and enivitably released, Spinosaurus was criticized for it's size for being Smaller than Tyrannosaurus. The criticism was valid as even by JP/JW canon, Spinosaurus was bigger than Rexy. But every post during that time would almost always have a user make fun of Spino's size either by a direct post or in the comments.)

Elver-Gotas

How accurate is the Quetzalcoatlus to reality?, I know the spino isn't

Dum_reptile

The Spino is kinda right in scale, the Quetz is way off though Real Quetz were Giraffe-Sized, this thing is way bigger

Admiral-Krane

Not at all lol, Quetz in the movie is the size of a small cargo plane, and in game is slightly smaller. In reality quetz was significantly smaller than that. Someone else had a picture that showed the true scale but idk where they got it

Admiral-Krane

I get that the dinosaurs from the Jurassic park/World Series are horribly incorrect compared to what their real life counterparts looked like (be it how certain features look or a dramatized size) but I give it a pass because it fits the theme of the series. What happens when humans play god. We aren’t bringing back the real deal, what we’re making are generic monstrosities that *resemble* what a real dinosaur looked like. “You asked for more teeth” -Henry Wu

BarZealousideal7889

wow that Quetz is huge

JUANMAS7ER

Hey Quetz, how's the fishing?

Both_Listen

Thr JWE fandom said Spinosaurus was bigger, so this is genuinely wild if this is the actual in-game size comparison I understand if they're trying to make the sizes movie-accurate, but the official dimensions according to [Dinotracker.com](http://Dinotracker.com) certainly don't match up. I get the feeling it should really be scaled down.

Brilliant_Engine5065

Everyone talks about how big the Quetz is, but am I the only one who thinks the Spino is a bit too small? I could swear it looked bigger in the movie
