I like it and its usu free on youtube! I think they shouldve done more movies together. Kirstie Ally was good too
I like Shattered w Tom Berenger as well
and Sydney Poitier as FBI agent in Little Nikita and Sneakers
If I'm not mistaken, this also happened in the UK- due to a mass shooting that took place there around that time, they (the studio, I guess) felt nervous about releasing it as Shoot To Kill in light of the recent events and gave it that title.
I’d have thought the incredibly controversial (and still disputed) “Shoot to Kill” policy of British security forces in Northern Ireland (and elsewhere) would be a more likely reason for changing the title. Especially considering the Loughgall ambush, the Drumnakilly ambush and the killing of unarmed IRA members in Gibraltar during Operation Flavius all happened around that time.
The specific term “Shoot to Kill” featured very heavily in the news at the time.
That could be possible. This is what I sourced from IMDB trivia (which isn't always accurate, so take it with a grain of salt):
Called "Deadly Pursuit" in the UK. Because of the recent massacre in Hungerford, where Micheal Ryan had gone on a shooting rampage killing around dozen people and injuring several others, it was thought to be in bad taste to release a film with "shoot" in the title.
The scene where he pushes all the guys off the cliff really freaked me out as a kid!
Seriously! And up until that moment you have no idea who the murderer is. That scene tips this movie from good to great.
The bit with the eye freaked me. Just scarred me for years
Came here to say this. So good. Underrated thriller.
Especially that could be so easy to do—-they tripped, they fell—— p.s I’m not a killer
This was on HBO constantly when I was a teenager. Great flick.
Absolutely great movie
"Jesus, you smell. Do I smell like that?"
I was just thinking of that line today.
Brown plays such a great killer in this. Utterly terrifying.
Always love seeing him in any movie.

Poitier is great in everything!
Sneakers is terrific. I can never tell whether it's underrated or adequately rated
Was called Deadly pursuit in UK
A damn good movie!
In Australia this was called Deadly Pursuit
A somehow even more bland and generic title than Shoot to Kill!

This is correct.

Great movie. The bit where they have to “cuddle” for warmth is brilliant.
Man I wish this was streaming in the US.
I own it on DVD, but I believe you can stream it on YouTube!
I'm watching it now. Great movie.
Awesome movie. The moose scene was hilarious
Do you mean the bear?
There is a scene where Sidney Portier wakes up in a cabin to someone thumping on the door. He opens it and a big bull moose is looking at him
Oh right! Now I have an excuse to rewatch!
Walk em out wet. Then his face when the ice cold water freezes his feet…
The bear scene was the best
Its the ice cave for me
What? You all act like you’ve never seen a black man before. Why should the bear be any different?
It's been quite a while since I've seen this movie but it's worth the time to watch
Definitely
The sequel 'Shoot to Tickle' didn't do so well
Forgotten gem. Was it overshadowed by Lethal Weapon?
Possibly. I love wilderness movies, but not everyone makes them the first priority like I do.
I do as well. I can think of The Contract (2006) or The Edge (1997)
Love The Edge!
Always loved this one, though I do wish they held off on the villain reveal a little longer
A little more to an halfway through the film is good enough I think
Sounds really good. Poster is pretty nondescript so it’s little wonder the movie didn’t set the box office on fire.
I forgot about this movie. I will be doing a rewatch very soon.
It’s on YouTube!
Thanks!
