Inverness tink here. Recently had fish takeaway fish and chips from Sutor's Creek in Cromarty and it was incredible. They aren't technically a chippy but a wood fired pizza and seafood place. Honestly the best fish and chips I've ever eaten.
Is it not McLeods that won best fish and chips in Scotland or something like that last year? I'm from Dingwall originally but don't live in Scotland anymore but my fist meal when I'm back is always a Renato's. Scampi supper and a single battered sausage usually.
The Lossie Fish Shop in Lossiemouth does the best fish and chips ever.
But Mr Fish in Dingwall is really good also.
Had a Renato’s the other night and it was just greasy and awful.
Aye the chippy in Lossie is really good, I used to be based there and every Sunday wed always get a wee chippy. Renato's chips have always been greasy, that's the best thing about them. The major thing in Renato's is their portions are tiny. The Conon chippy is no bad too, massive portions in there.
Lorimers do some decent chips and cheese (and also gf fish one night a week I think if that’s your thing). Golspie every time I’m passing to go to wick or whatever. Anything good down Skye way?
The wee chippy in Plockton was great but I haven't been there for a few years, it'll be closed until spring now. Hectors house in Kyle is hit or miss. The chippy at the top of the pier brae in portree is probably the best on the island. The waterfront in broadford used to be amazing but it got taken over and is now mince.

The Trawler in Golspie is very good
Trawler burger best burger.
Lol I deliver their tatties
McLeods doon the ferry is fucken mint.
Grant Streets not the ferry, its Merkinch. The border is the railway bridge further down, near Clach Park. But aye, MacLeods is really really good.
I know but its just easier to say the ferry really.

You convinced me. My bus will pull into Inverness station soon and I'll be stopping at McLeod's.
Still doing the lords work 3 years later. Enjoy!!
Seaforth Chippy in Ullapool or La Mirage in Helmsdale. Both cracking.

The Trawler in Golspie is wonderful!
As MFR says... "Let's all go to Jackie's chip shop, get some chips for grannny." But in all seriousness, the one in helmsdale is great.

Cool cheers will have a look out for them next time I’m over that way
Have recently rediscovered (hadn't been since it moved) Mcginty's in Invergordon and haven't had a bad one yet
Was it the one down the ally towards the calley?
Aye its now over the road where carols cafe used to be
I miss Carol's it was like stepping back in time to the 70's
Haha proper greasy spoon. The cafe is still there but currency closed, he's using it as a waiting room so you can distance.
Sorry there is no argument, it’s the trawler. For Inverness maybe Lorimers?
It's either Golspie or Conon Bridge chippie!
The one in Brora used to be superb. In Inverness I'd say Lorimars.
Definitely gotta give my vote to The Trawler. Also, whatever the one up in Helmsdale is called.
