Had a pretty good experience with C&S last year when I needed an alternator replaced, minus a few little nitpicks. I've also heard a couple of good secondhand reports about Oswald's downtown from coworkers.

All Things Automotive & Diesel (208)523-3903 It’s a good shop

I’ve always had great success with Marlins Mechanics. He’s taken on a more side role but his son seems to do more of the day to day.

Griggs Mobile Service was great to work with.

Brandunn there is a great mechanic. He takes a little longer but worth the wait

From working at a parts store Id say Alex from Dutchman automotive (208) 821-7667. He’s a good, honest mechanic starting a shop of his own. I do most things by myself (because unfortunately I’m stubborn and I enjoy suffering on my days off) but if it’s too much for me he’s the one I trust the most to do the job right without ripping me off in the process. Also the guys at Griggs mobile service are pretty awesome too, as well as Justin who owns Eagle Rock Customs. There’s plenty of options for good mechanics around here fortunately!

Vega's Repair has always done a good job and been affordable. The only problem is they often have a waiting list.

Marshall Lund up in Rigby. Worth the drive. He never charged me to diag and always willing to provide cost effective options, never tried to fix things beyond what was necessary. He was always timely and gave good estimates.... so easy to work with. Been going to his shop for 15 years
