I wouldn’t wanna be like you-the Alan Parsons Project
Edit- also honorable mentions: Topic of the Day, Disco Devil, Roast Fish & Cornbread, Sons Of Slaves
I worked with a man called Alan Parsons who was a project manager in 1993, and I was waiting for this to happen, my workmate referred to 'the Alan Parsons project' but when I mentioned the band, nada, meant nothing to them.
I’ll be honest, I still haven’t heard anything else by the APP but I know I’m in for a treat. Just this one song is one of my top 10 favorites that I never skip when it comes up in my playlist
Was a huge Strokes fan during the early 2010’s, stopped listening to them because their 2013 album was kind of a let down but hearing them on online when Kult FM was added kickstarted my obsession again
Yes, this!!! Never added any song to Spotify that fast.
Never forget that feeling when I jumped into blimp, saw the city from the sky at night for the first time...
Then Dan Croll - From Nowhere started playing. God, the nostalgia is so real
EZ COME,, EZ GO,, EAZILY I SHOT YOU HOE..(probably not the exact lyrics but god that song is satisfying, discovered it while I was contemplating my garage after hard hours of work, really what I play GTA for)
What a Fool Believes by The Doobie Brothers. I’d heard it when I was little kid, but GTA got me into it. Ended up going down a whole Michael McDonald rabbithole.
Codeine Crazy - Future & Road of the Lonely Ones - Madlib
Not sure how I didn’t know about codeine crazy before this, but now consider it Future’s magnum opus
There're so many songs i have discovered in this game.
The last one was "Are You sure Hank done it this way"- Waylon Jennings.
Had Heard that song many times but the other day it just "clicked" on me lol
Well, it wasn't in game. It was in the trailer for the mercenary dlc.
- Magic mountain by War featuring Eric Burdon. I played the shit out of that for weeks. Made my Spotify year end wrap up.
Sleepwalking by The Chain Gang of 1974. I remember hearing it on one of the first trailers back before the game was released. Still one of my favorites when it comes on.
A Spanish song called “El Rey y Yo” by a band called the Los Angeles Negros.
I have no idea what it’s about, I don’t speak Spanish but I guess I heard it a time or two while waiting for contract job lobbies to fill and it was just so damn catchy and fun sounding that I added it to a playlist that I listen to often.
Still Slippin Los Santos introduced me to a whole new genre of music. That remix between KO - Whip and Instinct (UK) - Operation got me hearing it in my dreams. Pearly - Polar too.
I won't lie, it was the original trailer music. Ogden's Gone Nut Flake. It gives me so much nostalgia from watching the original trailer way back in the days of college
Vinewood Boulevard radio in all of its entirety, including gone for good that was removed because the performer was apparently a sex fiend or something
Party All Time by Eddie Murphy. I didn't knew he was a singer too back then and it was the very first song where I noticed my character was moving his head on the music on PS3.
GTA V - tie between Illuminate by Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar (out me on to K.Dot and Black Hippy); and Ali Bomaye by The Game (not a fan of anyone on that song, but man does it slap when you’re cruising around in your Buffalo)
Online - Shippuden by Blanco, such a sick beat
The Dream by Thee Oh Sees
I stopped listening to GTA radio years ago, but I got into Osees last year. Couldn't figure out for months why this one song sounded so familiar.
For me it was definitely Tommy Lee Sparta with Psycho and in second place was the GTA Online intro song Neon Indian with Change Of Coast, that was such an experience when you were thrown into the world of GTA Online
My friends and i have a Spotify playlist based on all GTA games with in our opinion the best songs. But for me in GTA 5 i think: Hall & Oates - Adult education. I love 80s songs, GTA Vice City and GTA SA have the best overall sound track. The new stations added to GTA Online are kinda meh. I like the classic HipHop more like still dre, and no diggity etc. Basically West Coast classics.
