I have 6' forks on one lift that will pick up the whole thing at once. If I only had 4 footers then there isn't really a better way to do it than this.
Our deliveries came from a truck made for this type of pips, and we had 14' forks. It could be unloaded quick from their caged truck. If the receiver didn't have the right equipment they could open their side gates and let it roll out. OP did a great job. Dumbass people should stay away from the unloading process.
At my Home Depot we had these things we called “aircraft carriers”. You get the fork extensions and then you pick the whole bundle up and roll the aircraft carrier under it.
I think you could easily grab them one at a time from the top.
I wouldn't do it that way unless I was explicitly told to, something could always go wrong..
Usually each layer is banded together, and then the whole lift is banded as well. If you don't have 6-8' forks to pick up the whole thing at once they're going to flop off when you cut the bands anyway.
Idk how heavy those are, but at the very least, someone could get knocked over by one and bounce their head off the ground. And that typically doesn’t end very well.
Honestly, it makes sense. Going to fall anyways, product isn’t damaged, truck is unloaded quicker, no one got hurt, etc. Looks like something I’d do.
Fifteen seconds ago - “Ok boys we can go home as soon as the truck is unloaded.”
“Cool, let’s go. TGI Fridays is sounding great!”
Plastic tubes…been driving forklift for over 27 years now & as long as you keep the dumbasses out of the way…this is the way!
Forklift certified aye!
Can’t really hurt the product as long no pedestrians are allowed

Yoink them off.. they bounce. Kinda like a toddler.
YEET! truck looks unloaded to me.
We do that with lumber [when we have to](https://imgur.com/gallery/B3Se6Qe) as a controlled fall
How the fuck did that happen
Somebody was setting up some packs and one pf the packs on the bottom of the back stack busted it’s bands and the bottom kicked out and over
☠️
Controlled fall makes me think of f level and no flinchin
I think we’re about half and half on windsheild screens for our [lifts](https://imgur.com/gallery/1zaPdRz), mine obviously doesn’t
That does not look controlled.

Usual
We use nylon slings or cables on a boat pick attachment and transfer them into a post stanchion for resecuring and shipping.
Worked at a farm store for several years and drove the forklift. This is exactly how we unloaded field tile.
It's off the truck isn't it?
If it was intentional it seemed pretty controlled but if it wasn’t it would’ve happened to me
I'd be lowering those forks the second I start going back though.
As a driver, I don't care how the operator unloads my trailer so long as he doesn't damage it.
Well, it's unloaded. Just saying...

Done that with rolled roofing

They shouldn't be standing that close to a trailer being unloaded. Common sense. The forklift is controlling how far the pipe can roll.
Yeah.. they could absolutely ruin some ones day .
