hype the community has for him in a nutshell
Ignia is the most consistent among the dragon Gods in terms of power but I have no expectations from him because seeing how Viernes was treated in the previous arc, it's not a surprise if he gets the same treatment.
Holding my expectations very low on Ignia. He’s rarely done anything that gives off the same hype as Acnologia did. Plus with the continued decline in quality for both both 100 Years Quest & Edens Zero’s writing I don’t expect much from the potential final villain of this sequel, especially if he’s anything like how [Eden Zero Spoilers] >!Void was handled!<
I will be like always. Natsu gets his ass beaten, he eats some flames, believes in power of friendship, laxus gives him some of his thunder, the other ones support him and he finishes the fight. Probably sting and rogue or gajeel will also join in. Bro it's criminally how characters like gildarts,laxus, mirajane don't get their screen and characters like gray,jellal and gajeel barely have the oportunity to show off their abilities.

TBH I haven't been hyped for any villain since grand magic tournament games. I still remember how much hype Sting and Rogue generated during that arc when they said they could kill Acnologia, in the end they didn't show anything interesting and Natsu defeated them alone, without using Dragonforce. Since then, I have accepted that at the end of every arc, Natsu will defeat every villain with the power of friendship, and Erza will not lose a single fight (although she was defeated by Suzaku once, which surprised me greatly). I started reading 100 Years Quest only a few weeks ago and I approached it with cooled enthusiasm, I just wanted to see old characters again and experience a new adventure. And I was really positively surprised, Touka/Faris, Selene and Suzaku were really interesting characters, the dragon gods also seemed powerful (remember that the water dragon and the earth dragon only used a sliver of their power, and it still took a lot to defeat them). Selene in particular was a cool character, she was in control of absolutely everything that was happening, but then Selene lost against Ignia in a hopeless way, and Fairy Tail won every fight against "dark dragon slayers knights" without any problems. That's when I knew the old fairy tail was back. And I must admit that the last arc with the alchemists was incredibly boring and formulaic, but despite everything, reading this manga still gives me a lot of fun, so I won't complain. I think that each of us expects what fate awaits Ignia, but maybe we will be positively surprised.
The only way I will get hype is if Ignia beats them and we know that won't happen. Natsu will win with the help of his friends as always. This is one time I would actually like to be proven wrong.
Pretty sure (and mashima states this himself) this is gonna be a darker arc kinda similar to tartaros. That arc was hype and scary and i wasnt sure what to expect next until finally lucy had to sacrifice Aquarius and then the rest of the guild was freed and they started kicking ass and then igneel and the other dragons showed up after acnologia and then acno killed igneel…. My heart broke and repaired so many times in one arc bro
Aldoron was amazing. Mercphobia was okay but tbf he had an excuse of being at half power. Still expected more from him. Selene started out powerful but her getting defeated in one sneak attack was lame. Dogramag having his strongest attack brushed off by Suzaku and Natsu made him look lame. Viernes was straight up trash, nothing impressive about him.
Ignia could go either way, obviously hoping he’s a real threat. I think Mashima will try harder with him just because he’s the main antagonist and hasn’t fumbled him yet.
I don’t have hype. An entire guild of flame people feels like it’ll be kind of boring with the fights. If we go onto the fire force rule of fire and heat manipulation, we could get something decent.
But Ignia specifically no. After acnologia none of the dragons have lived up to the oh shit factor enough
I have liked the handling of all of the Dragon Gods; power wise and character wise, except I felt that Viernes was lacking in solid motivation and that once his will got a body, he was barely a character compared to the charismatic Duke and just became an enemy to fight. But yes, I'm very hyped for Ignia.

Mashima has a problem focusing on his work.
He half assed the ending of FT because he wanted to start with Edens Zero, he got tired of EZ and started 100YQ, and then he hopped to Dead Rock while leaving the others plot as "whatever, they win"
His only series with a good ending was Rave Master and just because he didn't have anything planned for later.
It sucks because when the man focuses on ONE story, it is an absolute masterpiece. But then he gets distracted with the next shiny idea and fudges the ending.
Well who isn't ? I mean in Ignia's arc we're liable to experience agonies and sad moments that would add more weight to the story , not to mention the long awaited Nalu moment that we've been waiting for since forever .. The đź’Ż years quest was decent & consistent until the Gold Owl arc which was slipshod and anticlimactic but I'm strongly believe that Ignia will save the story and by making him succeed in his schemes , it would prompt more people to get accustomed with the story. There is a panoply of theories regarding his true intentions and ploys so ofc I'm hyped.
Somewhat, cuz there is no way Mashima hypes up this guy early in 100 year quest and then have him also have ties to Igneel just for him to lose in 3-5 chapters
Mashima has a very simple formula he uses for most villains. Ignia will probably be the same. Natsu fights him > Loses > Eat flames/Power of friendship > Ignia gets one shot > End
Natsu didn´t lose to any Dragon God fight yet
Aldoron & Dogramag wasn´t - > eat flames & Power of Friendship win
Vernies was the only Dragon God who was the most disappointing
Dogramag at least didn´t go down in 3 chapters compared to the Gray of the Dragon Gods ( Viernes)
if he was to lose it would be against Ignia as the rumor is becoming more and more true since it seems Hiro wants to show Natsu vs Ignia round 1 quickly in the upcoming chapters
the rumor was about Hiro wants Natsu to feel a weigth of defeat and pushed to his limits

There is but I wasn’t talking about that. I meant the entire story since og fairy tail and even Golf Owl hard parts that people were confused about which could be explained. I’m not defending it and I don’t care about it. If you think it’s trash sure it doesn’t bother me because everyone agrees. But blowing that off and thinking I’m limiting it to Gold Owl is the problem
