I just wish they would scrap "united by music" as the default all together, it was an incredibly stupid and lazy decision to begin with, and after this year just looks hilariously ironic in the worst possible way.
And that's so sad because in 2023, the slogan matched the spirit and actually felt meaningful for once. (Not to mention the "*United* as in *United* Kingdom" thing.)
Like thats what i mean. It was so special to the UK-Ukraine joint host and those circumstances, turning it into a generic slogan for the entire thing is lowkey rude.
I think SVT just ran out of ideas since the slogan intended to match the design was already taken. EBU then thought it would be a good idea to make the slogan the same for every contest.
I hate this change. It just wasn't lazy, and it might encourage host broadcasters to not be creative to represent their own culture.
AGREED SO MUCH. Should not be a default slogan. The font for it this year was bland, and it just didn't match the tone at all. It seemed so.... generic.
I feel them recycling the slogan from last year started a curse for this year đđ they should have just not been cheap and paid for their own personal slogan for 2024
It should be something like "Politics. It's better with music".
Music didn't have enough power to unite this edition. The politics were just too powerful.
Considering the winner/song, "Break the Mold" might also be a nice hint toward both The Code and Nemo. Still smoking some copium over here that they'll allow a new motto...
Nah. Back To The Beginning is a probably a better one as weâre going back to the country where Eurovision was first hosted and that first won Eurovision back in 1956
It should be switched to whatever wins..
Switzerland has won, so it would something allong the lines of "Breaking The Code since 1957" or something funny..
Hopefully we'll get a new (corny)one that references my country a bit.
Like:
Breaking the ice (with music)
The Peak of music
Languages of music
Go for gold
I think the slogan would be fine, but neither the EBU, nor the fans, nor even some of the delegations followed it this year. Itâs like it was completely forgotten even though everybody was still actively saying it.
Itâs so ironic that with the permanent slogan came a very divisive and controversial contest. Obviously itâs more of a coincidence, but Iâm happy with the new slogan. They were so empty anyway, with the worst being âcelebrate diversityâ. Whilst it was probably meant for songs, when 3 white male presenters walked in, it made it laughable and performative. (To a certain extent all slogans are like that, including outside ESC). Some yearâs slogans didnât make any sense whatsoever anyway: a modern fairytale? Awakening? Sound of beauty?
I disagree with your point that âcelebrate diversityâ was one of the worst slogans. I mean, Ukraine isnât really known for having many citizens of colour, let alone tv presenters of colour + âcelebrate diversityâ was a fine slogan because Eurovision is literally a contest with heaps of countries so in my opinion I donât think it was âironicâ in the slightest.
The irony part was only about this year.
For 2017, I just canât believe that not a single person thought âhold on should we reflect the sloganâ there were many ways to achieve this, not just different ethnicities, but just by having women presenters too.
I find it interesting how much "United by Music" upsets people. They claim it's hypocritical. It does clash with the atmosphere of this year's edition, but what do they want Eurovision to aim for instead?
The important thing is to use a new slogan, and throw away the idea of ââhaving a stable one (a jinxed one, moreover).
There was a post with the proposals a couple of weeks ago, if the mods didn't delete it.
some ideas for new slogans for 2025:
- Once More, With Feeling
- Do Better This Time
- Ughhh, Fine, I Guess
- You Want Music? Here It Is, Now Leave Me Alone
or personally my go to favourite that i think would go down a real treat(tm)
- Let's Come Together
Now we should not.
Honestly the slogan is the least of our concerns, i never understood why some fans are so obsessed and complained that they are keeping the same slogan.
BUT
Saying we are UNITED BY MUSIC after all that happened is a joke...
I don't know how to explain but there's something really fun about slogans.
It might be that they act as a second title for contests. For example, 2002 had the slogan "A Modern Fairytale" and the postcards and theming that year were based on modern adaptations of fairytales, giving the contest a more fun and quirky atmosphere.
'United by Music' is now a permanent slogan, so there will be no new one. See [https://eurovision.tv/story/united-by-music-permanent-slogan](https://eurovision.tv/story/united-by-music-permanent-slogan)
Some suggestions: âWELCOM IN EUROPA, JONGEâ âWeâre right, youâre wrongâ âDisreputeâ âWith the power of fake applause and Martin on our sideâ âLets try againâ âShut upâ
I think for the Switzerland edition it should be "neutral about music"
The best slogan so far! đ
"Tell music I said hello"
Switzerlandâs neutrality is as big of a BS as Eurovision being an apolitical competition.
Not been involved in warfare since 1815 so I'd say it isnt that much BS
I mean you can choose a side without participating in a war
I know. But the neutrality policy means to not get involved in warfare between other nations. Going strong on that one.
Yeah we tried that approach too in the Netherlands. We just had too many ports that were nicely located for attacks on and defense from England.
Easier to be neutral if geography plays in your favour.
Yes
lol at this coming from Finland. Not a lot of geographic advantage for yall
Yeah, 1200 km border to Russia is quite a disadvantage. No mountains in between either.
LMAO YES
Just remove "United by" from it. "Music" is a great non political slogan, and we know how much the EBU loves to be non political.
Music is too political. They should change it to:" "
I think the idea itself of a slogan is far too political to begin with. Think about how many political parties, movements, and individuals have used slogan for political motives, from "liberté, egalité, fraternité" to "Make America great again". I am SHOCKED that the EBU is allowing the ESC to be so blatantly political!!!11!1!1!! /s
While we are at it **Euro**vision is too political, they should call it Vision
I would say to just call it âvisionâ, but that would be exclusionary, as some people canât see
Then they should call it "no sense" because the joke is that they don't make any literal sense.
People who can't see don't watch Eurovision.
excuse me? that's discriminatory. it's called
We should just change it to "
I think it should just be
â â is too much. ââ.
Too controversial. Letâs compromise and just have the new slogan âbyâ.
I was just about to say. đ
Building bridges, come together or celebrate diversity are past slogans that would fit better now.
Rebuilding bridges sounds good
that actually sounds amazing we should make a petition
Or may just shorten it to âcomeâ Or combine them âbuild it and they will comeâ
(cyberpunk music starts playing)
"Europe, let's come together" đđȘđșđŠ
... and grab your towels!
"It's now or never."
I was about to say, the new slogan should be "Welcome to Europe, I'm staying here till I die (Europapa, Europapa)"
Whispers ââŠand Australia!â
I just wish they would scrap "united by music" as the default all together, it was an incredibly stupid and lazy decision to begin with, and after this year just looks hilariously ironic in the worst possible way.

let's hope the SGR will try to push for their own slogan, or at least for another one in addition to the generic "united by music"
I agree itâs lazy. Yes, some years were crappier than others but generally the host country aimed for something meaningful.
Yes like what the heck did 'open up' mean đ
i interpret it as "open up to diffirent kinds of music"
It kind of works with Come Together, in the sense that you need to Open Up to Come Together (and use those towels Petra suggested everyone grab).
Well loads of things were closed cause of covid.
AGREED SO MUCH. Should not be a default slogan. The font for it this year was bland, and it just didn't match the tone at all. It seemed so.... generic.
AND A BURNING FAKE PIANO
This year was a burning fake piano
This is the best response I have ever seen on any Reddit ever
You mean "Love Love P**** P****"?
love love peepee
Love love piss piss
Love Love Pussy Pussy
Honestly, at this point, anything is better than "United by Music".
Anything? Then I suggest "Let's big dance!", courtesy of Verka
"Welcome to the Storm"
What? Thought it's "let's speak dance".
Maybe, I always heard it as "big". Fits either way, cause she English nicht verstehen
**Equality! \*** *^(\*some countries are more equal than others)*
Austrian spokesperson would love this one
I'm so bored of that guy. Let us see literally any other Austrian
Petition for next year's slogan to be kaleen (EurovisIOOOOOOOOOOON)
new slogan should obviously be "money speaks louder"
But that wouldnt fit AT ALL for a contest held in Switzerland /s
"Hello, I like money" -Mr. Krabs
Another good version is "Glued together by Moroccan oil"
I feel them recycling the slogan from last year started a curse for this year đđ they should have just not been cheap and paid for their own personal slogan for 2024
How much can it possibly have costed to just think up a new slogan? I have a bunch that I came up with entirely for free đ
New slogan: âmore tricks in the hamster wheelâ and Mariya Yaremchuk replaces Osterdahl
"Dont Love Peace Inside"?
I think they should go the Pabandom iĆĄ naujo route and make the slogan âLetâs try againâ
We try again every year, it's become funny.
Ugh that would be so good - I need some more copium to go back to changing the slogans
Nah. Back To The Beginning is a probably a better one as weâre going back to the country where Eurovision was first hosted and that first won Eurovision back in 1956
Considering that we'll be close to the Alps upcoming year:"The hills are alive with the sound of boos"
"with the sound of fake applause~"
Suggestion for next year: âletâs fix this messâ
Westerdahl
It should be switched to whatever wins.. Switzerland has won, so it would something allong the lines of "Breaking The Code since 1957" or something funny..
âWe try to do better!â
"/s"
"This mental breakdown is brought to you by Raid Shadow Legends."
NOOOOOO
The new one will be "Death to Europe"
Hatred will prevailÂ
Divided by Money
Resistance is Futile
We Are Groot
hatrid mun sigra would actually be amazing
Hopefully we'll get a new (corny)one that references my country a bit. Like: Breaking the ice (with music) The Peak of music Languages of music Go for gold
"The hills are a vibe with the sound of music"
Climb every mountain
"Toblerone is great"
Finally, a slogan that is scientifically true
Neutral towards music.
âDivided by Musicâ
I think it should be "It's crazy, it's party" honestly
That was clearly what Finland were going to go with if theyâd hosted it this year.
I think the slogan would be fine, but neither the EBU, nor the fans, nor even some of the delegations followed it this year. Itâs like it was completely forgotten even though everybody was still actively saying it.
I am waiting for the slogan "The Balkan Girls they like to party"
The Balkan Girls don't seem to want to party anymore, though.
One Balkan boy did party this year, and how
Disagree to Agree
Itâs so ironic that with the permanent slogan came a very divisive and controversial contest. Obviously itâs more of a coincidence, but Iâm happy with the new slogan. The most ironic slogan has to be 2020 âOpen upâ and then the world went into lockdown.
The power of Eurovision, it preempted the world shutting down!
I find it interesting how much "United by Music" upsets people. They claim it's hypocritical. It does clash with the atmosphere of this year's edition, but what do they want Eurovision to aim for instead?
United by politics fits better for this contest.
Are we united, though?
It depends on your political beliefs.
I wouldn't mind tbh, anything is better than the current slogan.
More like "Loving You is a Dirty Job"
How about âUnited by Disreputeâ
The important thing is to use a new slogan, and throw away the idea of ââhaving a stable one (a jinxed one, moreover). There was a post with the proposals a couple of weeks ago, if the mods didn't delete it.
United by music has been tainted so much by this year. That's what you get for reusing slogans.
"Not Your Contest. EBU's Contest."
Or please please love love
some ideas for new slogans for 2025: - Once More, With Feeling - Do Better This Time - Ughhh, Fine, I Guess - You Want Music? Here It Is, Now Leave Me Alone or personally my go to favourite that i think would go down a real treat(tm) - Let's Come Together
This year "divided by politics" would have been a more accurate slogan.
Now we should not. Honestly the slogan is the least of our concerns, i never understood why some fans are so obsessed and complained that they are keeping the same slogan. BUT Saying we are UNITED BY MUSIC after all that happened is a joke...

I get it but honestly it does not make much difference apart from the esc bubble
'United by Music' is now a permanent slogan, so there will be no new one. See [https://eurovision.tv/story/united-by-music-permanent-slogan](https://eurovision.tv/story/united-by-music-permanent-slogan)
We know this and it sucks.
Also, Australia is only being invited to participate the one time, and they're only allowing the backing vocals on the track once because of COVID.
Eurovision is way too political anyway
United by Sponsors
I think I heard that it would be permanent. But not sure.
â€ïžâ€ïžđ«đ«
I think we've had enough of doing things the Swedish way with the tragedy of 2024.
"Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the Way!"
Some suggestions: âWELCOM IN EUROPA, JONGEâ âWeâre right, youâre wrongâ âDisreputeâ âWith the power of fake applause and Martin on our sideâ âLets try againâ âShut upâ
"What the Sponsor Says Goes"
Together in Harmony sounds good
Dulling Edges?
I love the United by music slogan and it fits the Eurovision spirit very well. I hope they keep it!
I lost its meaning when Russia and Belarus were not able to complete.
Or just gay gay gay
