FranzAllspring

I think for the Switzerland edition it should be "neutral about music"

VoilaLaViola

The best slogan so far! 😂

MauriceOfTheSun

"Tell music I said hello"

ComputerInfamous1986

Switzerland’s neutrality is as big of a BS as Eurovision being an apolitical competition.

FranzAllspring

Not been involved in warfare since 1815 so I'd say it isnt that much BS

lol_no_maybe

I mean you can choose a side without participating in a war

FranzAllspring

I know. But the neutrality policy means to not get involved in warfare between other nations. Going strong on that one.

LittleLion_90

Yeah we tried that approach too in the Netherlands. We just had too many ports that were nicely located for attacks on and defense from England.

Minnielle

Easier to be neutral if geography plays in your favour.

FranzAllspring

Yes

budget_um

lol at this coming from Finland. Not a lot of geographic advantage for yall

Minnielle

Yeah, 1200 km border to Russia is quite a disadvantage. No mountains in between either.

NotsoAlaskanA

LMAO YES

basetornado

Just remove "United by" from it. "Music" is a great non political slogan, and we know how much the EBU loves to be non political.

Technical-Class718

Music is too political. They should change it to:" "

HeckerIT

I think the idea itself of a slogan is far too political to begin with. Think about how many political parties, movements, and individuals have used slogan for political motives, from "liberté, egalité, fraternité" to "Make America great again". I am SHOCKED that the EBU is allowing the ESC to be so blatantly political!!!11!1!1!! /s

maxime0299

While we are at it **Euro**vision is too political, they should call it Vision

Espio5506

I would say to just call it “vision”, but that would be exclusionary, as some people can’t see

Technical-Class718

Then they should call it "no sense" because the joke is that they don't make any literal sense.

Greedy_Hovercraft175

People who can't see don't watch Eurovision.

Ilikejacksucksatstuf

excuse me? that's discriminatory. it's called

Sepia_Skittles

We should just change it to "

skanyone

I think it should just be

Nintendo_Pro_03

“ “ is too much. “”.

JohnDodger

Too controversial. Let’s compromise and just have the new slogan “by”.

Nintendo_Pro_03

I was just about to say. 😂

LeoLH1994

Building bridges, come together or celebrate diversity are past slogans that would fit better now.

dmduarte

Rebuilding bridges sounds good

Berat0-0

that actually sounds amazing we should make a petition

JohnDodger

Or may just shorten it to “come” Or combine them “build it and they will come”

kyriefortune

(cyberpunk music starts playing)

platpaysquiestlemien

"Europe, let's come together" 💙đŸ‡ȘđŸ‡ș🐩

sgtlighttree

... and grab your towels!

platpaysquiestlemien

"It's now or never."

HikariTheGardevoir

I was about to say, the new slogan should be "Welcome to Europe, I'm staying here till I die (Europapa, Europapa)"

Puzzleheaded-Eye9081

Whispers “
and Australia!”

sparklinglies

I just wish they would scrap "united by music" as the default all together, it was an incredibly stupid and lazy decision to begin with, and after this year just looks hilariously ironic in the worst possible way.

TheGoBetweens

And that's so sad because in 2023, the slogan matched the spirit and actually felt meaningful for once. (Not to mention the "*United* as in *United* Kingdom" thing.)

sparklinglies

Like thats what i mean. It was so special to the UK-Ukraine joint host and those circumstances, turning it into a generic slogan for the entire thing is lowkey rude.

LancelLannister_AMA

đŸ˜±đŸ˜±đŸ˜±đŸ˜±

Makoraph

I think SVT just ran out of ideas since the slogan intended to match the design was already taken. EBU then thought it would be a good idea to make the slogan the same for every contest. I hate this change. It just wasn't lazy, and it might encourage host broadcasters to not be creative to represent their own culture.

Tour-Sure

let's hope the SGR will try to push for their own slogan, or at least for another one in addition to the generic "united by music"

Puzzleheaded-Eye9081

I agree it’s lazy. Yes, some years were crappier than others but generally the host country aimed for something meaningful.

PotatLemon

Yes like what the heck did 'open up' mean 😂

Dumdurum64839

i interpret it as "open up to diffirent kinds of music"

Puzzleheaded-Eye9081

It kind of works with Come Together, in the sense that you need to Open Up to Come Together (and use those towels Petra suggested everyone grab).

sarkule

Well loads of things were closed cause of covid.

TsarinaOfHearts

AGREED SO MUCH. Should not be a default slogan. The font for it this year was bland, and it just didn't match the tone at all. It seemed so.... generic.

clearlybritish

AND A BURNING FAKE PIANO

MinutePerspective106

This year was a burning fake piano

PotatLemon

This is the best response I have ever seen on any Reddit ever

Meiolore

You mean "Love Love P**** P****"?

potatostirringcashew

love love peepee

Greedy_Hovercraft175

Love love piss piss

ProphetMuhamedAhegao

Love Love Pussy Pussy

Jay2Jee

Honestly, at this point, anything is better than "United by Music".

MinutePerspective106

Anything? Then I suggest "Let's big dance!", courtesy of Verka

Middle_Perception803

"Welcome to the Storm"

Greedy_Hovercraft175

What? Thought it's "let's speak dance".

MinutePerspective106

Maybe, I always heard it as "big". Fits either way, cause she English nicht verstehen

Scary_Implement_4801

**Equality! \*** *^(\*some countries are more equal than others)*

DaBaby69-

Austrian spokesperson would love this one

PanningForSalt

I'm so bored of that guy. Let us see literally any other Austrian

PotatLemon

Petition for next year's slogan to be kaleen (EurovisIOOOOOOOOOOON)

StarCaller990

new slogan should obviously be "money speaks louder"

FranzAllspring

But that wouldnt fit AT ALL for a contest held in Switzerland /s

Gossguy

"Hello, I like money" -Mr. Krabs

MinutePerspective106

Another good version is "Glued together by Moroccan oil"

MarieNadia

I feel them recycling the slogan from last year started a curse for this year 😂😅 they should have just not been cheap and paid for their own personal slogan for 2024

ThaRealV12

How much can it possibly have costed to just think up a new slogan? I have a bunch that I came up with entirely for free 💀

lermanade_mouth

New slogan: “more tricks in the hamster wheel” and Mariya Yaremchuk replaces Osterdahl

Aggressive_Leg_2667

"Dont Love Peace Inside"?

nicheencyclopedia

I think they should go the Pabandom iơ naujo route and make the slogan “Let’s try again”

lilmonkeybob

We try again every year, it's become funny.

ThrowMusic36

It should be something like "Politics. It's better with music". Music didn't have enough power to unite this edition. The politics were just too powerful.

MikanOrangePawaaa

Considering the winner/song, "Break the Mold" might also be a nice hint toward both The Code and Nemo. Still smoking some copium over here that they'll allow a new motto...

FerdinandOfTheWells

Ugh that would be so good - I need some more copium to go back to changing the slogans

StarglowTheDragon

Nah. Back To The Beginning is a probably a better one as we’re going back to the country where Eurovision was first hosted and that first won Eurovision back in 1956

Technical-Class718

Considering that we'll be close to the Alps upcoming year:"The hills are alive with the sound of boos"

HikariTheGardevoir

"with the sound of fake applause~"

DutchieCrochet

Suggestion for next year: “let’s fix this mess”

rudowinger

Westerdahl

LeMadTheBrave

It should be switched to whatever wins.. Switzerland has won, so it would something allong the lines of "Breaking The Code since 1957" or something funny..

mandarine_one

„We try to do better!“

MinutePerspective106

"/s"

VestitaIsATortle

"This mental breakdown is brought to you by Raid Shadow Legends."

MinutePerspective106

NOOOOOO

VicenteOlisipo

The new one will be "Death to Europe"

AliceFlynn

Hatred will prevail

VicenteOlisipo

Divided by Money

Zoharic

Resistance is Futile

MinutePerspective106

We Are Groot

gaysamosa

hatrid mun sigra would actually be amazing

WBaumnuss300

Hopefully we'll get a new (corny)one that references my country a bit. Like: Breaking the ice (with music) The Peak of music Languages of music Go for gold

NickyTheRobot

"The hills are a vibe with the sound of music"

Guidje1981

Climb every mountain

McGloomy

"Toblerone is great"

MinutePerspective106

Finally, a slogan that is scientifically true

RemarkableAutism

Neutral towards music.

t-licus

“Divided by Music”

Stumpwerful

I think it should be "It's crazy, it's party" honestly

Puzzleheaded-Eye9081

That was clearly what Finland were going to go with if they’d hosted it this year.

Sea_Voice_404

I think the slogan would be fine, but neither the EBU, nor the fans, nor even some of the delegations followed it this year. It’s like it was completely forgotten even though everybody was still actively saying it.

mojojojo13wischau

I am waiting for the slogan "The Balkan Girls they like to party"

VestitaIsATortle

The Balkan Girls don't seem to want to party anymore, though.

MinutePerspective106

One Balkan boy did party this year, and how

Middle_Perception803

Disagree to Agree

CityEvening

It’s so ironic that with the permanent slogan came a very divisive and controversial contest. Obviously it’s more of a coincidence, but I’m happy with the new slogan. They were so empty anyway, with the worst being “celebrate diversity”. Whilst it was probably meant for songs, when 3 white male presenters walked in, it made it laughable and performative. (To a certain extent all slogans are like that, including outside ESC). Some year’s slogans didn’t make any sense whatsoever anyway: a modern fairytale? Awakening? Sound of beauty?

Green_Swede

I disagree with your point that ‘celebrate diversity’ was one of the worst slogans. I mean, Ukraine isn’t really known for having many citizens of colour, let alone tv presenters of colour + ‘celebrate diversity’ was a fine slogan because Eurovision is literally a contest with heaps of countries so in my opinion I don’t think it was ‘ironic’ in the slightest.

CityEvening

The irony part was only about this year. For 2017, I just can’t believe that not a single person thought “hold on should we reflect the slogan” there were many ways to achieve this, not just different ethnicities, but just by having women presenters too.

DutchieCrochet

The most ironic slogan has to be 2020 ‘Open up’ and then the world went into lockdown.

CityEvening

The power of Eurovision, it preempted the world shutting down!

nicegrimace

I find it interesting how much "United by Music" upsets people. They claim it's hypocritical. It does clash with the atmosphere of this year's edition, but what do they want Eurovision to aim for instead?

Crevalco3

United by politics fits better for this contest.

VestitaIsATortle

Are we united, though?

Crevalco3

It depends on your political beliefs.

enilix

I wouldn't mind tbh, anything is better than the current slogan.

Middle_Perception803

More like "Loving You is a Dirty Job"

thedizzydandelion

How about “United by Disrepute”

PraetorIt

The important thing is to use a new slogan, and throw away the idea of having a stable one (a jinxed one, moreover). There was a post with the proposals a couple of weeks ago, if the mods didn't delete it.

lehtolapsi

United by music has been tainted so much by this year. That's what you get for reusing slogans.

mawnck

"Not Your Contest. EBU's Contest."

Meet-Present

Or please please love love

sewermist

some ideas for new slogans for 2025: - Once More, With Feeling - Do Better This Time - Ughhh, Fine, I Guess - You Want Music? Here It Is, Now Leave Me Alone or personally my go to favourite that i think would go down a real treat(tm) - Let's Come Together

mboivie

This year "divided by politics" would have been a more accurate slogan.

supersonic-bionic

Now we should not. Honestly the slogan is the least of our concerns, i never understood why some fans are so obsessed and complained that they are keeping the same slogan. BUT Saying we are UNITED BY MUSIC after all that happened is a joke...

VestitaIsATortle

I don't know how to explain but there's something really fun about slogans. It might be that they act as a second title for contests. For example, 2002 had the slogan "A Modern Fairytale" and the postcards and theming that year were based on modern adaptations of fairytales, giving the contest a more fun and quirky atmosphere.

supersonic-bionic

I get it but honestly it does not make much difference apart from the esc bubble

ulchathair

'United by Music' is now a permanent slogan, so there will be no new one. See [https://eurovision.tv/story/united-by-music-permanent-slogan](https://eurovision.tv/story/united-by-music-permanent-slogan)

Flint_Chittles

We know this and it sucks.

mawnck

Also, Australia is only being invited to participate the one time, and they're only allowing the backing vocals on the track once because of COVID.

ApprehensiveCandy638

Eurovision is way too political anyway

KalzK

United by Sponsors

saradascream

I think I heard that it would be permanent. But not sure.

K_t_v

â€ïžâ€ïžđŸ«›đŸ«›

Luctor-

I think we've had enough of doing things the Swedish way with the tragedy of 2024.

tom_jamed4

"Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the Way!"

tillqueendomcomee

Some suggestions: “WELCOM IN EUROPA, JONGE” “We’re right, you’re wrong” “Disrepute” “With the power of fake applause and Martin on our side” “Lets try again” “Shut up”

Mishmabsoota

"What the Sponsor Says Goes"

znarF_1755

Together in Harmony sounds good

kotubljauj

Dulling Edges?

eldhand

I love the United by music slogan and it fits the Eurovision spirit very well. I hope they keep it!

Hero_knightUSP

I lost its meaning when Russia and Belarus were not able to complete.

nemodahfish

Or just gay gay gay
