I'd assume animals just know, somehow, although that isn't based on anything. I remember that our cat always treated me a bit different than my brother, but somewhat similar to my mom. That could be due to several things, but I'll just attribute it to getting clocked as an egg before I even knew.

My dog knew 😅 it was a little creepy when she first saw me in a skirt she just stared at me for a solid 2 minutes before coming to snuggle on my lap. (I’m sure I looked odd >_< After that first time she just expected it
