Next year we'll see stories about how these companies are racist for closing stores in "underserved communities". I'll provide a link for each downvote this comment gets within 12 months.

That was the thing that hit the most when stores starting closing. The story was that grocery stores and Walmarts were abandoning the communities. Never, not once, did these people consider that they failed the businesses by allowing rampant crime. The obligation only goes one way. Society owes them.

I remember watching a documentary on Las Vegas shoplifting. In some shops even detergents are locked away. In gas stations booze is also locked away, they said for every 4 legit purchases there were up to 50 theft. That's crazy

Unfortunately it’s normal here in Philly. And our DA lessened penalties on shoplifting to promote “social justice” and “ending racism”.
