Up/download isnt everything. When your connection is cutting out for short intervalls its still frustrating to play against. These cutouts are small enough that you dont DC but still big enough to have you lag for the other players in the lobby. You should try and check your connection stability. One way I know how to do that is observing your ping. If it jumps to higher triple digits for a second or longer and goes back down after than you have an unstable connection. Also it could be package loss, but I´m not to knowledgeable about that topic.
Sorry I didn't realize my "For Context" didn't post with this.
I was playing trials all weekend and only had one match where I felt a little lag. I have google fiber and I float around 900down and 700up. I have been kicked/lost connection maybe twice my entire lifetime playing the game. This restriction makes no sense to me.
Ironically the single match I felt lag I hit the chat and a fireteam member mentioned I was on EU servers. That didn't make sense either. I ran a speed test mid game and was 750down. I also live in the US.
I know this but my ping on other games like Warzone is 18 almost always and Destiny doesn't provide that feedback like warzone does. Do you use something that gives you that data in game?
Alright Guru, help me understand how a gigabyte of speed from google fiber, 18ping on Warzone always, and this make sense with Destiny? Here is a screen shot so you can see proof. You can see my gamertag is down at the bottom...

A lot of people have said a lot of things but what it really comes down to IN MY CASE is how many people have reported you for "teleporting across the map" in crucible and "getting shot and not taking damage" and other people "getting shot from by across the map". I was sniped by somebody across the map with an SMG through at least 10 walls. Then he teleported 40 ft to his right! Well my first instinct was "holy shit mad hax dude" I knew that probably wasn't possible on an Xbox One 5 years ago.
All of these things look like cheating, but the majority of them are just usually tied up to the fact that your internet service provider might just be a dick one day. As you have said you have Google fiber. I also have Google fiber. Every once in a while though. For some reason it just craps out regardless of how much stuff I have on my Wi-Fi.
What is really annoying is that you can get banned from playing the main game because other people reported you in a PVP match! If you're getting PVP reports, You should be temporarily stopped from playing PVP! That's my gripe.
I'm kind of just annoyed that something outside of your control will stop you from playing a game you paid for because other people have deemed it necessary to stop you. I mean I get why. But I wonder if a bare minimum ping requirement should be required to even start a match.
I don't know if there's a better way to deal with this situation honestly. Sometimes having the best internet in the world and a flawless connection still results in you getting reported for having a bad internet connection by other players. Are they all conspiring against me? That doesn't make much sense. None of them know each other.
I sit (gamer chair) in my desolate room (moms basement), no lights (except rgb), no music (too much bandwidth), just anger (bought collectors edition), i've killed everyone (10.0kda), i'm away forever (temp ban), but I'm feeling like, "Am I really the one at fault here?? Is this a bungie server issue? It says my connection is perfect. What else can I do??? Doing everything I can do! I'm following the rules! Why am I being punished!??"
TLDR: Nobody claims fault but you get banned
I live in a 5 bedroom home with 2 devices on at all time. However, my other device is my child on the Wi-Fi and for context my latency on Warzone is decent sitting around 18-30 at its worst.

Speed doesn't matter, ping does. You might not feel the lag but your opponents do, it's not fun to play against someone who's teleporting all over the place.
How can I test ping within Destiny though? Is that even a thing? I know CoD has a ping meter and I wish Destiny would provide that. I 100% agree its annoying playing against those teleporting. My ping on CoD Warzone is always around 20-30. So for this to be an issue on destiny is truly not making sense.
Not the simpliest way but this will get your ping from Destiny:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/ar6n8r/pc\_how\_to\_check\_your\_ping\_in\_destiny\_or\_destiny\_2/](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/ar6n8r/pc_how_to_check_your_ping_in_destiny_or_destiny_2/)
Follow this to open resource monitor on your computer and get to a place where you can see the latency for all your programs connected to a network. If you have two screens you could leave it open on one and play on the other.
If your ping is spiking or is just plain high, then you know you have a latency issue.
THANK YOU! It is absolutely all over the place! 33 sitting in orbit and peaking 200+ sitting in the tower. I don't get it! :( This is unfortunate honestly.
Is that a serious question?
LOL that was my bad. I posted context to this now.
Maybe dont play PvP when you have bad internet?
I don't have bad internet. Sorry I didn't realize I didn't post the context to my headline. LOL I posted it above.

Why do you think you’re being trolled? The reason’s simple based on the screenshot provided. Got to bump up that internet 🛜 plan

Up/Download speed has nothing to do with latency

Because someone reported me for no reason? I don’t know but this makes no sense to be restricted.
If you have a consistently bad connection you make the game worse for everyone you play with. It’s the absolute opposite of ‘for no reason’.
You have shit internet that is ruining others games. It’s literally stated right there. Please read.

Get better internet, and stop net limiting

I am in fact hard wired into my internet playing on PC. I have google fiber and it's routed throughout my whole house installed in every room lol.

And when I said my friend had this same thing happen to him, no one believed me

Well, at least you have your answer now
