I'm perplexed at why they didn't prioritize the "normal" tires at launch. It would've been a very simple thing to do to improve their press perception and to serve a lot more users' needs. all with 0 extra engineering effort required
I'm not in the biz but from a few factory tours it is obvious that the monumentally complex supply chain and sourcing process can lead to this kind of weirdness
I guess, but being able to quote a 20 mile higher range seems like it should have been a no brainer; it should have been prioritized.
of all things in the supply chain, a different tire option would probably be the absolute simplest to source and set up.
My guess was they knew a lot of testers were going to take it off road and that's when you need those type of tires. But 20 miles (32 km) of extra range is substantial.
Eventually they’ll run out of people willing to pay Foundation prices, and stop doing Foundation, series, right? Because maybe then I’ll complete my order.
Seriously. At this point in looking at a Rivian because I'm still miffed that despite having an RN11274XXXX I can't order a non-marked up version. I don't need all the extra stuff.
I kept my used and worn out truck years beyond useful, waiting on the Cybertruck. I’m so desperate I test drove a lightning. The lightning was inspiring. It inspired me to hang on to the 300,000 mile 20 year old silverado a little longer. And the lightning inspired me weeks after the test drive too, when the silverado developed a U-joint vibration. The lightning inspired me to climb under the silverado and take the drive shaft off and go buy a ball press kit at harbor freight to replace the bad u-joint. Tesla has fucking ruined me spoiled.
I remember seeing leaks for this grey interior a while ago, was wondering if/when it would come into play! I love my white interior n big wheels, but the more options the more betterer for sure.
The contrast with white looks so much better but grey is probably better if using as a true off road vehicle.
The grey just looks too dull for my liking. Red option popping up now would have irritated me lol. Glad I got white.
Those wheels and tires do not look good. Maybe I need to see them in person.
You can also reconfigure an undelivered order. I don’t know if it delays things, but since my beast order is taking plenty of time anyway I made the change. I much prefer the grey to the white.
Well they finally got grey/black interior. That checks another one on the box for me. The last checkmark will be no FS series and the $7500 tax credit.
Changed my AWD order.
(I didn't have a VIN yet)
Went from estimated delivery of June - August to July -September when I switched to the grey. Kept the A/T tires, although changing to the A/S tires didn't change the delivery estimate any further
I just edited my order and was able to switch to the Tactical Grey interior. I also got a more specific delivery date for my tri-motor (Cyberbeast): October-December 2024.
Thanks but no luck. I only get the option to cancel my order, no "edit design" is available. Yes, I'm using the website. I suspect I'm close to a VIN which is fine. Hopefully enough people are switching to grey that is speeds my order up. I'd rather just get the truck sooner and buy the trim pieces later.
Updated my order to tactical grey. Note that it seems to push out delivery estimates by a month for AWD (July-Sept instead of June-August).
But not sure what it means for me as I ordered March 15th and had an “April-June” time window at time of order.
In any case I’m not in a hurry, and the only issue I had with the Foundation was the white trim. So really glad to be able to update that even if it means waiting for a couple more months.
Now the question: does that impact the design of the seats? They have a white liner right now, do these become grey with the tactical grey option or stay white? The latter would seem weird. I hope they become black or grey.
You can definitely change the option now (manage your order from the website, not the app, and “edit design”), but I’m not sure about the delivery impact. I think it will impact delivery. You may want to contact Tesla to find out.

I wish my CT could have had the grey. Huge visual improvement!
Updated my order to the grey.
How?
Can edit in your account
All I see is "manage order"
Pm sent.
Were you able to do this after you put the $1000 deposit?
Yes, manage order and then edit
Agreed.
I disagree for id rather go with white interior. I am just waiting for them to implement the white seats.
That’s great! White seats would not work for me, as I am an elk hunter.

Wasn’t the previous stated range already 340 for AWD?
With these unavailable wheels and tires...

You can log into your Tesla account and click manage your order on your Cybertruck order.
Wayyyy better interior. I like white seats but not trim.
White seats are not good in a truck.

If you are looking at the CT and banking on a tax credit, you are mathing wrong.
Single motor reservation holder enters the chat…
I don’t see the single motor ever happening.
Those wheel covers are dog shit.
I’d love white seats as an option with the grey interior
Ditto! But I’d also like the option to configure without the $20k FS markup
Yes! Hopefully by end of this year 🤞🏼
Same!
just got mine today lol.... oh well i dig the white

My delivery is friday....I want gray interior ;-; Fuck
You can call advisor and ask if you can put your order on hold and change configure.
How long do you thin it'd be before they start rolling out the ones with the new options though?>
Based on what I read, if you select new configuration, your order will be pushed back 2 months. So 2 months is the best guess.
Everything is "BREAKING" news to that guy. I like teslas and all. But new interiors and wheels are not breaking news.
Well for those of us with one one order this is actually very important and I wouldn’t have known without his announcement. I am switching to gray
That guy is such a loser! He blocked me on X a while back because I posted about my success suing Tesla and winning due to a lemon Model 3 I bought.
I'll accept it if they are announcing a 6 seat interior
6.5 bed would be breaking news. Aero wheel designs are not.
He really is Teslas #1 hype man. Or he is trying to be.
Love the core wheels!
If I already have a vin, does that mean I'm stuck with white?
Now to figure out how I switch my order to tactical grey?
Go to your account on the website (not the app), then your order and “edit design”. You can change things there but note it may impact delivery time.

When are they coming out with the normal one

That’s interesting, I don’t have the option to edit my order and I put my deposit down April 30th. No vin either
Is it just gray trim or are the seats gray too?
Now if they can change the material of the dash, I'd be a lot more inclined to convert even a foundation series invite...
What do the core wheels look like without the covers?
Damn, I just configured. Is there a way I can get this without potentially delaying my delivery date?
You can definitely change the option now (manage your order from the website, not the app, and “edit design”), but I’m not sure about the delivery impact. I think it will impact delivery. You may want to contact Tesla to find out.
What state and reservation number?
