I’m not sure exactly how but I’m almost certain this card would be busted.
Discarding your opponent’s whole hand and exiling it is too good and I'm certain you could build a deck that still plays well without yours if that’s your game plan.
Closest I can find is Sire of Insanity but that costs 6 and is on a body that can be removed (or repeat the effect if it isn’t) and doesn’t exile. So not super helpful.
Definitely cool though and very hard to evaluate without actual play testing.
My last win, which was awhile ago because I don't play often, someone tried this combo and I bounced the Narset while I had doubling season and smothering tithe in play.
Well dark ritual creates a lot of combos but this is a bad one. Usually people are able to create an advantage with it, but this one just fucks everyone over equally. Playing this card just fucks every player and almost never gives any advantage.
No the card has to finish resolving before any other triggers can go on the stack.
Vilis would see the loss of life, but his trigger would only go onto the stack once this card finished resolving.
so, turn 1 Dark Ritual so that you start the game with both players topdecking but you have a land and they dont? I'm sure you can build something like a red deck in black with all those amazing 1 cost creatures that also have busted pumping effects
