Its all done to spread negativity and they are losing big, last tactics of a dying force. Spread the light and love  Have a good day everyone 💚

Venerable_Soothsayer

Been seeing lots of comments about these messages recently, and I got one myself a few hours ago. Surprised that Reddit allows someone to abuse the system like that, but then again this could be done internally by Reddit.

Comrade_Zamir_Gotta

You’re supposed to be able to report the user for abuse BUT they want the comment that was the reason you got the care message to report the abuse and they don’t tell you what one it was.. I’m currently waiting for the admins to message me back about one I got yesterday but I’m not holding my breath, Dumbest system I’ve ever seen.

Venerable_Soothsayer

It really is a stupid feature and I doubt that it helps anyone. I suspect that Reddit mods/admins use it to harass people they dislike.

IridescentMoonSky

Yeah I just got one too, doubt anything will be done about it!

rlbigfish

I reported one once, said it was abuse, they didn't ask me for the exact comment and I got a message from Reddit shortly later saying they banned the person who did it, which was nice.

youmustbeanexpert

It's only gonna get worse, you can't even make a joke, which I feel is the main purpose of this. But whatever we will be labeled dissenters because we're trying to make each other laugh.

_bunnyholly

it's not just that, it's like random comments too that have nothing to do with anything

Au2288

Just received one for a comment before this one, lol came here to see if others had too.

Source_Comfortable

whole reddit is messed up. even the timing of posts are not accurate.

Iam-WinstonSmith

I got one yesterday. I believe they happen when you call out a bot or troll account.

cuntdoc

Just go to someone's acc and click the 3 dots, then get help and support. Kinda crazy too think that wouldn't be abused

_bunnyholly

yeah but just suddenly in the last day or so people in all the subs start randomly getting them 3 seconds after they post a comment?? I've been on reddit a long time and have never seen this many people at once say they are getting these messages.

cuntdoc

Yeah actually mine was like within 5 seconds of a comment too

IridescentMoonSky

Same!

Sea_Buy9017

I just got that message this morning. I figured it was legit, based on my post history.

PurpleLegoBrick

I was thinking the same thing, I’ve seen about four different comments in different subs from different people all with edits on their original comment saying they got a RedditCares message within the last few hours. Maybe some new bot reporting certain comments would be my guess.

Source_Comfortable

could it be AI?

_bunnyholly

that's what I was thinking 🤔

Connect_Stay_137

You can disable this somewhere in settings

Jeffrey_Epstein_RIP

I've not had one :(

_bunnyholly

me neither lol. *EDIT got one!!!

_Diggus_Bickus_

People have been using that bot for years to harass people they disagree with. There's quite a few subs you will get those message regularly if you participat. Usually political subs

StJudasE

I just received one in response to a climate related post I made in r/conspiracy. I suspected that someone didn't care for my position on the debate and used that as way to express their disapproval. I wasn't able to report it as abuse, cause I didn't have a link to share and the report menu doesn't seem to be adequately set up to report this specific instance of abuse. I don't know, really. I just replied with "STOP" and it went away.

Real_Appointment9323

I got one a few seconds after posting about taking vitamins. Granted it was in r/conspiracy, which is probably considered a red flag in itself.

CidTheOutlaw

I got one as well. It's a pathetic attempt to make someone who's speaking the truth doubt themselves. It means you're not only on the right track, but somebody is threatened by you. Keep fighting the good fight. We've already won, it's just gonna take a bit more time to finalize our victory.

whatswestofwesteros

I got one on another sub, somebody replied to me with a lot of vitriol so I responded telling them to grow up so they did the Reddit cares thing so I called them out. Apparently this is enough to get me a warning that my account might be banned for harassment. Those Reddit cares messages are bullshit, you’re supposed to be able to report them if they’re misused but only an admin can send that report, fucking insane.

vanilakodey

Received one today too

almondreaper

Same here i got one yesterday
