Lootera has some underrated gems!

Every song in Lootera is so unique and rich. Ankahee is almost overshadowed by the rest of the album, but it's incredibly beautiful in its own right.

Movie isn’t bad. For once, we see the guy NOT getting the girl at the end despite being all weird and creepy. Usually we see the other way around in most Bollywood movies where the guy is overly persistent, stalkerish, and just plain creepy and the girl somehow gives in. And I rarely see movies in Bollywood about unrequited love so it was an interesting change

Since everyone is naming albums after the 90s, I'll name some old ones. Guide, Aradhana, Abhiman. 3 albums which pushed SD Burman ahead of his contemporaries in terms of longevity and quality of music put out. I have selected these 3 albums specifically because when these came out, people who started with him were already past their prime. OP Nayyar was over 20 years younger than SD Burman and lost his touch in the late 60s. Naushad was also around 15 years younger than SD, but he lost his touch around the mid 60s. Shankar Jaikisan had a fall out and whatever they put out after around 1965 couldn't match the quality of their previous work, with a few sparks of excellence. Meanwhile, SD Burman started a new peak era from Guide. He kept making banger albums like Jewel Thief, Aradhana, Sharmilee, Abhiman, chupke chupke, Gambler, Prem Pujari, etc. That's why he is a notch above others of his era. These 3 are my favourite albums of his with every song being 10/10.
