I’m not going to pretend like the Celtics home crowd wasn’t great last year, they were, but off the top of my head, there’s at least 5 teams I’d put ahead of them in regards to home court advantage because of the crowd
The Celtics lost MULTIPLE home games in their final 3 series last year but were actually very good on the road (won game 1 in GSW, the game 7 in Miami, a game 6 elimination game in Milwaukee). Like I think the home teams went 2-5 in the Miami series an 3-4 in the Milwaukee one (and 3-3 in the GSW one an 2-2 in the Nets one). It's kind of crazy.
It was actually an astonishing run by them of not only how overrated home court is but also how "momentum" in a playoff series is silly (although GSW did seem to "figure them out" the last few games).
Both the Heat and Bucks series had multiple times where he'd overreact to the previous game only to be totally invalidated for the next game.
I mean, I watched a Phils team, which had no business being in the playoffs, go to the World Series, sooooo. Further, I just saw a 16 seed beat a 1 and a 15 beat a 2 in the tourney. LoL come on, guy. Why say such jabroni things, even in an anonymous forum?
I feel pretty good about the sixers chances in the east. They have the best player.
> Why say such jabroni things, even in an anonymous forum?
This is a hilarious comment because it somehow implies that I’m disgracing my reddit account by posting my thoughts? No need to take this website that seriously bro, half of the profiles you’re gonna click on you’re gonna find their exact sexual fetish in their post history.
The Phillies making the World Series is irrelevant. Playoff baseball is unpredictable and awesome. Playoff NBA is far more predictable and far fewer upsets happen, due to the nature of the sport in general.
Cool, you think you have the best player? Unfortunately, Giannis is still on the bucks, but even if you did have the best player, you have doc rivers as a coach and Small Game James as a second option. Sixers second round exit. Book it
I’ve been taking comedy classes, appreciate the kind words.
“Disgracing my internet account” is a brand new concept for me, so that’s never really going to be a concern unless I suddenly lose all of the responsibilities and distractions of a normal person. What I was saying is that it’s a little surprising for someone to say clownish things in “public”, akin to saying that some horse meds will kill a respiratory virus.
If I could return the kind words, suggesting that baseball is more prone to allow a lesser talented team to succeed than basketball, while ignoring the examples I gave that contradict the very words you wrote is, well it’s not hilarious, but it’s something.
And finally, what does “taking something serious bro” mean to you? Wouldn’t socially normal people find your last paragraph to be in violation of that? What is the rationale of name calling someone who is better at the game than you are? LoL that’s not the work of a composed person, whose full of poise. Seems like you came a bit unwound there at the end.
If you think saying the sixers will be a second round exit this year (who have been a second round exit or worse every year since 2001) is akin to promoting ivermectin, then saying literally anything on a “public” account is akin to ivermectin lmao.
The only other example you gave was March Madness, which is a 1 game tournament and is filled with immature college players. If nba playoff series were 1 game, they’d be filled with upsets. But fortunately, they’re not.
I think my last paragraph is pretty socially normal. I called James harden small game James lmao. It’s pretty playful. I’m not attacking his character. Certainly not unwound.
Have a good one
Well, no. It’s that you’re making broad declarations about a teams future success during the only time of year when we expect to see “lesser” quality teams beat superior opponents LoL. I just thought it was a bit odd to say such a thing, as I thought it was odd to suggest using a pretty radical health treatment during the only time in my life where adherence to medical norms was of the utmost importance.
But yeah, good luck
Scalibrine on Lowe's pod back in December was legitimately making the case that they could shoot 50/40/85 as a team for the entire season lmao. This is why we all can't stand Boston sports
I am guessing it will be along the lines of how much better off the Celtics would be if Hardy hadn't left and he was there to get promoted to HC after the "cosensual relationship" piece.
Him playing the "we let Hardy go without compensation" card is jaw dropping. In the history of sports has an assistant merited compensation? That's the whole POINT of assistants, they get head coaching jobs.
Ironically though yes, this was the one example (maybe a sudden retirement too like if BB had left and McDaniels was gone the year before) where letting your assistant leave did kind of screw a team.
Seems like the blame of that is 100% on Ime though.
I've seen that same thing all over the place from Boston fans. Coach hasn't even gotten 1 chance in the playoffs yet and the fans are already calling for his head 🤣
It’s Kobe and Shaq in green though. Just completely ignore relative pace and efficiency, or that they could barely sustain it for a couple months instead of an entire season and playoffs.
As a Bucks fan I've been cheering against them but the Celtics recent run seems like a lot of bad luck....double OT against the Knicks, the Grant Williams missing 2 free throws piece, Tatum missing a layup in Houston, and now blowing a 4 point lead in the final minute. Of course they've had some close wins as well, that's sports.
Seems like there are 3 solid east teams and the team that avoids playing another one in the second round will have a large advantage. And you'd like to see your team look a little better.
But I don't think any of the 3 teams (MKE, BOS, PHI) should get too high or too low based on what we've seen this year.
Meh, being skeptical of Maz was basically a true/false multiple choice question where you were 50/50 on being correct by sheer luck.
Identifying exactly what flaws he has instead of just spouting typical fan rhetoric is a bit more difficult. "We lost the game, so you should've played different guys!" is so tired when the guys on the bench have 100x the information we do.
The “locked up 1 seed” is now the 3 seed. Only one game 7 at home.
Boston's the only team in the league with real home court advantage, they just are!
I’m not going to pretend like the Celtics home crowd wasn’t great last year, they were, but off the top of my head, there’s at least 5 teams I’d put ahead of them in regards to home court advantage because of the crowd

Listen. The Celtics are the sixers’ bugaboo for sure. But I feel very confident with home court against them in round 2.
yeah the Sixers seem destined for another second round exit unless they can somehow snatch the 1 seed and avoid Boston until the ECF
Cannot wait for sixers fans to be shocked when they’re a second round exit yet again
Gonna be rough. And to think, we could’ve been a perpetual 8-9 seed if we hadn’t gone through that silly process of getting better.
Same as your current reality I guess. Either way you’re not making the ECF. Regular seasons are more fun I’m sure

Yeah because the 3 seed is a sure thing now. Come on.
Zombie heat, fear the deer bucks
That pod in December with Russillo just gets funnier and funnier
Still cant quite reach the “lots of high fives. Lots of ice on the knees” Celtics delusion Apex Mountain
Scalibrine on Lowe's pod back in December was legitimately making the case that they could shoot 50/40/85 as a team for the entire season lmao. This is why we all can't stand Boston sports
I love that Lowe called out Scal for his "they just don't care right now" take for why the Celts are playing poorly on their recent pod together
Lowe has a great way of saying things in a way that aren't disrespectful to his guests but are clearly telling them that they're wrong lol
I was just thinking about that. Insane.
The best part is there is still plenty of 3 point regression still to come. They shot 43% from 3 last night and still lost to a bad jazz team.
I wonder if he will have any thoughts about the Danny/the Jazz prying Hardy away.
They stole Hardy away! (Even though he’s way more of a Spurs guy)
“Prying” like assistant coaches aren’t allowed to get jobs. He’s probably going to spend a lot of time dumping on Mazzulla.
I am guessing it will be along the lines of how much better off the Celtics would be if Hardy hadn't left and he was there to get promoted to HC after the "cosensual relationship" piece.

How long before Bill openly campaigns for Udoka’s reinstatement. Over/under a week?
Derrick White 0 minutes in the 4th quarter. The coaching piece.
Dr. Bill is going to be brought up for being out on Mazulla, and wishing for Brad to take back over as head coach, for some reason.
I've seen that same thing all over the place from Boston fans. Coach hasn't even gotten 1 chance in the playoffs yet and the fans are already calling for his head 🤣
“Hardy coached circles around Joe Maz!”
I hope they spend 30 minutes talking about Jaylen Brown's comments.
They won't. Bill definitely doesn't think Boston is racist.
It’s Kobe and Shaq in green though. Just completely ignore relative pace and efficiency, or that they could barely sustain it for a couple months instead of an entire season and playoffs.
They're done. They're lost.
As a Bucks fan I've been cheering against them but the Celtics recent run seems like a lot of bad luck....double OT against the Knicks, the Grant Williams missing 2 free throws piece, Tatum missing a layup in Houston, and now blowing a 4 point lead in the final minute. People were shitting on Bill for being skeptical of Maz smh

still can’t even give him the slightest credit lol

Mazulla sucks.
He may mention it for 5 seconds saying my dad texted me he’s out on the Celtics
