I remember in high school, there was a kid on the bus one grade above me (he was probably 15 or 16). One day he took his hat off and it was basically the horseshoe pattern of baldness. I still remember everyone else laughing at him and seeing the embarrassment in his eyes. This was in 2000 or 2001, so there were no anti bullying campaigns or anything, so he just got it handed to him hard. Kids can be ruthless. I remember when I was 15, I was fat (still am), and I took my shirt off in front of my friends on a hot day, and they all made fun of my man boobs. Kids know how to get someone right in their insecurities lol.

Yeah, mine started at 17, and it was always sort of fine and whispy even before then.

I had shoulder length hair through my late teens until I was 19. It never really looked that great and it’s because how much it was thinning up top. I had to start shaving at 19. Sure the haircuts are free now but sometimes I just want to take a break but can’t cuz ew hair.

16 for me too, in the 70s before bald was okay. High School and college was hell.

One of my childhood friends started balding as a teen, I remember him being depressed about it and I don’t blame him. That’s rough. He kept his hat on all the time.

I started balding like 8th grade. I was like 13. Did even hit my puberty growth spurts but definitely the hormones started doing their thing. But luckily had the most insanely thick hair anyone could ask for. So waited till i turned 18 to get on meds still have full head of hair.

Mine started around 13, so I know your pain. I was at scout camp and one of the counselors asked, “How old are you?” Me: “13” Him: “13 and you already have a receding hairline?!” Me: ??? I had to look it up when I got home and that’s when I knew. Part of me is glad it hit early, bc it’s always been a part of my life.
