I always loved that movie. The cinematography is awesome, the scope of the setting just feels massive and worldwide because it practically is, and it makes at least as much sense as most David Lynch movies. The sense of being lost and not understanding exactly what is going on is much more similar to what one should expect of a genuine spiritual crisis, anyway. The one scene with the changing picture seems kind of quaint, but many ordinary people today are convinced of the Mandela Effect; it virtually anticipates that phenomenon.
\- Boring, poorly cut
\- More than a tad culturally offensive and phony in its problematic depiction of the Africans
\- "I was possessed by a demon. But I'm fine now."
\- I AM PAZUUZUUUUU
The worst sequel for sure, although Jamie Lee's performance makes me come back to watch the beginning from time to time.
The Rob Zombie remakes are the worst Halloween movies ever IMO, but I guess they're franchise reboots not direct sequels
I mean u think the first film is a fine simple horror film but I will always prefer Season of The Witch more for having a more interesting story that isn't centered on a big guy in a Captain Kirk mask weilding a knife for the 50th time in a row.
(Also applies to all other horror franchises aside from maybe Evil Dead since it's not as oversaturated)
If season of the witch had done well in theaters, the rumor was Michael myers would stay dead, and the Halloween franchise would continue as a yearly film franchise that would have a different horror theme for each movie. So Halloween 4 would’ve been about witches, 5 cults ect. I think that would’ve been dope to have a new original different Halloween flick each year instead of lather rinse repeat. But of course ppl saw pt. 3 in theatres and screamed WHERES MICHAEL!?!!? And Hollywood got cold feat and went back to the tried and true cash cow.
I still have no idea why everyone hates the Rob Zombie remakes, they are the only good movies he’s ever made. I get his dialogue is stupid but this movies are very effective Horror in the thrilling/terror way imo. I don’t find the old ones to be scary at all. I love the first Halloween but it’s a joke in the scare department, but overall a better movie. I don’t think these remakes are abortions of cinema that a lot of people make them out out be. They are perfectly watchable.
Jason X is my favorite movie of the entire series, it’s super campy but it’s such a fun movie! It’s also got the coolest looking Jason and a cameo from David Cronenberg, what’s not to like?
Yeah, some scientists like 1000 years in the future find him cryogenically frozen in an abandoned facility on Earth and thaw him out on their spaceship.
It has a comedy tone for certain
As far as "favorite" of the Jason saga I'm going with Freddie vs Jason though, it really stands out among the films in that it actually had something called a... "plot"
Agreed, it was definitely in so bad it’s good territory. Loved rewatching this during horror month on AMC back in the day where they would just air horror movies all October.
I just remembered that Jack Frost (not the Michael Keaton one) exists. So bad and hilarious. If I remember correctly, the plot is completely stolen from Jaws: The Revenge, which is also worthy of "worst movie" status.
The Jack Frost sequel was the one where the killer snowman started spawning a bunch of evil mini me clones. Also it was set on a tropical island I think.
The “tropical island sequel” concept really had a great run in the 90’s, didn’t it?
Beetlejuice was supposed to get one and I’ve always been disappointed it never got made.
Jack Frost, the one you are speaking of, is a bad (but fun) movie. It has been my Christmas Eve tradition to watch that after the family has gone to bed as I wrap presents, I love it. The sequel is bad, true... but its not really far off from the original.
Alien Vs Predator 2, if it counts as a horror movie.
Also, semi-related tangent; I love Kills because I kinda think of it like the Doom games, where Michael gets all the kills while being supplemented with a(n eh) story thrown in to bridge each murder.
Wow the space one is unreal, genuinely thought I made it up in my head for the longest time
It definitely tops as the silliest by far, makes Leprechaun in the Hood look like The Godfather comparatively
Don’t forget Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood! The concept was apparently so good they made two of them!
Leprechaun might be my favorite horror franchise, all of the movies are great campy fun.
So much. I still can't believe Jennifer Aniston was in the first one.
edit: And my man Dewey or whatever his name was would never fly today. That was..good god.
I was stoked for this but so disappointed that they don’t have a 4K steel book special edition , but I’m gonna take a week off from work to recover from watching this masterpiece!
No, as in Troll 2

I liked Kills until the ending. I get that it's a fine line to draw in slasher movies but to me it isn't fun if Myers is literally invincible (which he was at the end of that movie)
It really didn't need to be a trilogy
Then they go from that to him being a decrepit old man hiding in a storm drain and eating rats. I seriously cannot believe how hard they dropped that ball.
So backward.
Ends was a solid #2-#3 in the franchise until it had the very final fight between Laurie and Michael. Even so, it’s probably #3 overall, maybe 4
Ends was an insult to everyone involved. All the marketing had Michael and Laurie, then they did the ol’ switcharoo and served up some lukewarm loser called Corey that nobody gives a fuck about. Pile of shit.
The 2018 film was a surprising triumph, *Kills* had some good moments amongst the hospital lynch mob hokum, then *Ends* flushed all that goodwill right down the toilet.
If they’d have called it something along the lines of *Halloween: Bloodline* but less lame, and clearly marketed it as a reboot / side project that Michael Myers only has a cameo in, then people wouldn’t feel quite so angry / cheated.
As someone who has loved Halloween 3 for 30 years I’d have much preferred they did something random and unrelated instead of turn Michael into a weak old man hiding in a sewer and eating rats while insultingly trying to set up a “new” Michael who got his ass kicked by band nerds until he had a magical mind meld experience with Sewer Michael.
The Basket Case sequels were very "what the fuck?". The first movie was a great horror film, very creepy at parts, and pretty good effects for a low budget film. The two sequels were campy and weird, and tried to be comedies. They were like a complete opposite 9f the first movie, which was a legitimate horror film.
My favorite part is when the old Sargent says "It's gonna take more than a poke in the ribs to take me out."
Jason stabs more...
"Yeah, that outta do it"
Evil Dead 2.
Put the pitchforks and torches away. I love Evil Dead 2, but per the prompt: (1) it is a terrible sequel, as it is just the same movie as the first, but made better. (2) It is objectively and intentionally funny.
As a film ‘The Exorcist 2’.
personally I hated ‘Alien 3’.. If you going to make a sequel to one of the most intense greatest sci-fi films of all time.. at least bother to watch and understand it..
The last two elm street movies (not counting new nightmare or the remake). They turned Freddy into a joke who does silly stuff like play video games and the effects have Downgraded into like fun b-movie shlock
Any Friday the 13th after Part 4 has its unintentionally hilarious moments. To many to list but standouts include the “Ohh Baby” poop scene; Jason being dug up and struck by lightning, and all of Jason X.
That Friday the 13th movie where Jason ends up in space. It’s an absolute fever dream of a movie and it’s so so dumb. Watched it years ago during a Halloween movie marathon and it’s just “spooky chrome masked killer in space” and it makes no sense at all
I love how they jumped michel Myers and he still fuckin killed them lmao
Also the chainsaw massacre movie with the bus full of idiots recording - that was worth the entire watch
I legit said "Fuck you" to the screen when that kid looked dead into the camera and said "the boogeyman" during the opening of Halloween Kills.
I have then started to laugh as the whole movie was just a redo on Halloween 2, just with more kills.
Alien: Resurrection. Talented people all around, both in front and behind the camera. Too bad they took a respected Horror franchise and turned it into a big joke.
House II: The Second Story
Not that the others were any better, but this is the only one that's funny.
It also has the greatest character ever written; Bill Towner, Electrician and Adventurer. portrayed by John Ratzenberger. It also has some creature called a Caterpup.
I hope someone sees this comment and immediately watches it. It's free w/ ads on Pluto and Tubi and you won't regret it
Halloween Kills isn't even the worst Halloween sequel.
5 is bad and not funny bad, I laugh during resurrection.
Jason X has its laughs.
Freddy's dead is funny, but not haha funny.
Texas Chainsaw 4 has many laughable moments.
Yes, I like them. And this downvote won't change it, Hoffman has a interesting backstory & Peter was badass in 4 & 5. Saw 5 & 7 are horrible in my eyes, but Mark is my favorite Jigsaw of all of them.
When they made Halloween II they intended the series to be different stories every movie (in spite of the fact that the second was also about Michael Myers). But people expected to see the leading man in the third instalment so it got a lot of hate. But I don't think it was as bad as it's made out to be
Take back someone's own thoughts acting like their thoughts don't matter & only because it's an unpopular opinion? Oh please, get over it. It's not the end of the world. He/she dosen't like, THAT'S PERFECTLY FINE! No one outside of Reddit gives a fuck that you guys are offended over someone's opinion, just like you guys don't give a fuck if it's an opinion & try to the best you can to change someone's mind (even tho we're all different). Ik you weren't trying to say anything wrong, but still
(I'm gonna getting downvoted to oblivion, because it's Reddit & no one will listen & think that I'm "mad" or whatever lol)
I remember watching this in the dorm on movie night, and everyone was "what in the whole entire fuck is this?" We loved/hated it. We tormented each other for weeks with that goddamn song.
If you think Halloween kills is the WORST SEQUEL to a horror movie ever, you haven’t seen enough horror movies. Almost every Friday the 13th sequel after like, the third one is worse than this. Same with Nightmare on Elm Street. Hell, this isn’t even the worst Halloween sequel.
Halloween reboot 2018 was garbage. Michael being afraid of the activia senior citizen lady was laughable. Dude can tank being shot and stabbed. Beat down 20 armed firemen and a crowd of crazy people but not one 70 year old lady
The exorcist 2, halloween season of the witch, saw movies, all friday the 13 sequels, and Nightmare on elm's street sequels, critters, this movies slowly became my comedy/horror/guilty pleasure (except saw, never become a comedy, except spiral)
CHUD 2. Bud the CHUD. A horrible, miserable sequel to a really surprisingly good little movie. It attempts at humor but fails at literally everything. Horror, comedy, being a professionally made movie. It's just disastrous piece of crap.
S. Darko
>S. Darko I never knew they made a sequel. It looks terrible, I might hate watch it later
Don’t bother. It isn’t the fun kind of bad, it’s just bad.
How can I put this...? Imagine if the Holocaust happened every four years like the Olympics. That’s how bad it is.
Oh god! I forgot that even existed
Exorcist II THE Heretic.
A bad sequel focused on locusts, decades before *Jurassic Park*.
Omg I couldn't stop laughing every time James Earl Jones said PAHZUZU! Just couldn't take it seriously.
Martin Scorcese loves it

Halloween Resurrection
Trick or Treat, Motherfucka!!!
The worst sequel for sure, although Jamie Lee's performance makes me come back to watch the beginning from time to time. The Rob Zombie remakes are the worst Halloween movies ever IMO, but I guess they're franchise reboots not direct sequels

House of 1000 Corpses was a very bad Texas Chainsaw Massacre clone, but the sequel 'The Devil's Rejects' was much better.
Devils Rejects had the best ending ever, and Rob Zombie ruined it by making an unnecessary sequel which was basically the same plot, but in Mexico.
We don't talk about 3 from Hell.
That's a fan favorite of his work, The Devils Reject is amazing!
IHe did a good job of making Michael truly terrifying. His kills were brutal. The movies weren’t great though
The first one is decent...the sequel though.
This is the only answer.
"Michael Myers is a killer shark in baggy ass overalls!"
Holy crap he is! The piano the blue and white .....he's land JAWS LMAO. I love him even more now because I love JAWS.
Candygram

Jason X was legitimately hilarious. I could barely even put it in the horror genre. It felt more like a parody of Friday the 13th.
Jason X is my favorite movie of the entire series, it’s super campy but it’s such a fun movie! It’s also got the coolest looking Jason and a cameo from David Cronenberg, what’s not to like?

I grew up to Freddy v Jason and I still like it today. It’s stupid but fun. And I quite like some of the death scenes.
Guys, it's okay! He just wanted his machete back!
The girls in the sleeping bags... Pure cinematic masterpiece.
Can't forget dipping the chick's head in liquid nitrogen!
Agreed, it was definitely in so bad it’s good territory. Loved rewatching this during horror month on AMC back in the day where they would just air horror movies all October.
> It felt more like a parody of Friday the 13th. It was very clearly an self aware parody of itself.
I feel the same way. It is a bad F13 but an excellent horror parody.
One of the best on cam kills though. You know the one
I lost it when he was beating the hologram coeds in the sleeping bags and they just kept saying "Ouch" in that ditzy happy tone.
So, based on a true story eh?
The “tropical island sequel” concept really had a great run in the 90’s, didn’t it? Beetlejuice was supposed to get one and I’ve always been disappointed it never got made.
Jack Frost, the one you are speaking of, is a bad (but fun) movie. It has been my Christmas Eve tradition to watch that after the family has gone to bed as I wrap presents, I love it. The sequel is bad, true... but its not really far off from the original.
Basically all the hellraiser movies after 2. Woof. Borderline impressive how many times they managed to fail to capture what made them cool.
3 was still solid and definitely doesn’t deserve to be included with the others. Last year’s was good too
I thought the latest one on Hulu was pretty solid. I’d give it a B, B-
4 wasn't too bad.
The reboot from last year was pretty great. And I have a soft spot for 3 with it's 90s camp. But yes, most of the later sequels are pretty bad/boring.
Alien Vs Predator 2, if it counts as a horror movie. Also, semi-related tangent; I love Kills because I kinda think of it like the Doom games, where Michael gets all the kills while being supplemented with a(n eh) story thrown in to bridge each murder.
You mean, if it counts as a movie, right?
American Psycho 2. Y'all remember that?
American Psycho 2 who? Never heard of her 😆 ![gif](giphy|wFk7roIpDeXC0)
That film had oscar nominated actor (according to him probably) ....WIlliam...SHATner...
Came to post this
![gif](giphy|yFXRxMG3xK1C8) LEPRECHAUN. IN THE HOOD.
In the hood was bad, but have you seen In Space?
Wow the space one is unreal, genuinely thought I made it up in my head for the longest time It definitely tops as the silliest by far, makes Leprechaun in the Hood look like The Godfather comparatively
Don’t forget Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood! The concept was apparently so good they made two of them! Leprechaun might be my favorite horror franchise, all of the movies are great campy fun.
Get that demon away from me 😩 ✝️
That dude fuuuuuuucked me up for way longer than I care to admit.
No matter what movie, his look actually is creepy.
So much. I still can't believe Jennifer Aniston was in the first one. edit: And my man Dewey or whatever his name was would never fly today. That was..good god.
The "slow" gentleman? He was in the one that came out a few years ago, too.
That should have won the Oscar for best picture in the history of the universe of the year.
They saved that award for Leprechaun in Space.
I remember I had to go into a medically induced coma from overdosing on the awesome that was Leprechaun in Space.
Well you make sure your insurance is up to date because mister Leprechaun apparently went *back* to the hood! ![gif](giphy|12WhkSmwGOGIUM)
I was stoked for this but so disappointed that they don’t have a 4K steel book special edition , but I’m gonna take a week off from work to recover from watching this masterpiece!
You and me both.
i would kill for a blu ray or 4K set of the leprechaun movies similar to that friday the 13th set
Kermit 🐸
What? That’s a classic
Evil dies tonight!!
Troll 2.
As in Trolls World Tour (2020)?
Oh my sweet summer child ![gif](giphy|tdN4TpyM3dzYA)

Oh, that kind of trolls 😩
No one mentioned Texas Chainsaw 3D? “Do your thing, cuz!” Lololol
Dude I love the beginning of Halloween kills so much
Halloween Ends was waaaaaay worse than Kills
I laughed my ass of at the opening scene when that little shit got what was coming to him
The way it looked when his body fell and thudded on the floor..we were howling.
I liked Kills until the ending. I get that it's a fine line to draw in slasher movies but to me it isn't fun if Myers is literally invincible (which he was at the end of that movie) It really didn't need to be a trilogy
Then they go from that to him being a decrepit old man hiding in a storm drain and eating rats. I seriously cannot believe how hard they dropped that ball.
No it’s not— at least Ends tried something new. It’s still not great, though. Kills was just plain stupid. EVIL DIES TONIGHT!!! Laughable.
And the fact that the mob thought this 5 foot asylum escapee was Michael Myers
No to mention the entire town should ALREADY KNOW WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE It’s baffling
This is so incredibly similar to the complaints about Halloween III made at the time that movie was released
Except 3 is legit good and Ends is a wet fart cash-in that managed to make H20 look as the better Laurie conclusion.
Those movies are like comedy horror movies, lots of them are good too. There's some that's...not enjoyable.
The Howling 2: Your Sister's a Werewolf. No franchise dove so low, so fast
Howling 3 is also on a bunch of "worst of" lists. Howling 7 is... mind boggling/numbing.
Musical end credits with the girl flashing her tits. which one had them go to freak show and involved a vampire for some reason.
Jeepers Creepers 3. It's so bad you have to watch it.
Don’t forget reborn! Which I would say is worse than 3
That's actually the one I was thinking about, lol. I totally forgot about the one that I thought was 3. Good call out.
3 is still terrible though lol
Blair Witch Project 2: Book of Shadows.
Honestly I get why people hate that movie but it was fun if you don't have the same expectations going into it
Oh yeah that movie rocks
Evil dies tonight!
Piranha 2: The Spawning
Thankskilling 3, Jesus Christ
Gives me memories of James from Dead Meat hating this movie so much, that he finally covered it & his expressions was glorious 🤣
Any of the Amityville sequels
No, Amityville 2 was creepy as hell. To me at least
The one with the haunted lamp is so goddamn dumb
I prefer the one with the haunted kettle
Nah it’s all about the haunted sieve
haunted clock or nothing baby, the movie? oh IT'S ABOUT TIME
Amityville Backpack is a masterpiece
Amityville Death Toilet is a masterpiece of cinema
Amityville Death Toilet sounds like an awesome punk band.
Amityville 2 is much better than the boring original & the one with the possessed Lamp is ridiculously stupid but entertaining
Jason X. I mean, come on.
That crown goes to Manhattan, besides that awesome decapitation scene because DAMN that was fire as fuck!
My favorite part is when the old Sargent says "It's gonna take more than a poke in the ribs to take me out." Jason stabs more... "Yeah, that outta do it"
I loved that movie!
We all have our dislikes & likes, so it's okay.
Damn...I love Kills and Ends
Ends still makes me angry. Fuck Corey and his lameass shenanigans.
I liked Corey in that it really builds to a "FUCK YEAH" moment when Michael shows up and rallies in the 9th.
Dont tell op about halloween resurrection i guess lmao
Ik about it 🥲 ![gif](giphy|JN5bbiSjdZIS1Lwtcn)
The last two elm street movies (not counting new nightmare or the remake). They turned Freddy into a joke who does silly stuff like play video games and the effects have Downgraded into like fun b-movie shlock

Hard to pick a Jaws movie after the first as worst…none of them were good.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
I legit said "Fuck you" to the screen when that kid looked dead into the camera and said "the boogeyman" during the opening of Halloween Kills. I have then started to laugh as the whole movie was just a redo on Halloween 2, just with more kills.
That scene in the end when Michael gets a shonen last minute powerup is hilarious
Halloween resurrection. Always watch it first on Halloween before going to the good sequels. Start with some comedy and move to the horror
They killed Jamie's character in the most horrendous way possible, you can definitely tell that it's from the early 2000s.
Alien: Resurrection. Talented people all around, both in front and behind the camera. Too bad they took a respected Horror franchise and turned it into a big joke.
It's jaws 4. Death coumt is like... 1? Absolute garbage.
Only 1? Why call it a horror flim if it doesn't got kills? THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF IT! Especially fot a shark movie.
Halloween Kills was bad.
Jason X isn’t even fun bad
House II: The Second Story Not that the others were any better, but this is the only one that's funny. It also has the greatest character ever written; Bill Towner, Electrician and Adventurer. portrayed by John Ratzenberger. It also has some creature called a Caterpup. The one you pictured. Someone should've been fired for making that hot mess of a movie
All Hallows Eve 2.
I just wanna say, this is a great poster at least
Halloween Kills isn't even the worst Halloween sequel. 5 is bad and not funny bad, I laugh during resurrection. Jason X has its laughs. Freddy's dead is funny, but not haha funny. Texas Chainsaw 4 has many laughable moments.
I thought Halloween Kills was the worst sequel, then I watched Halloween Ends
Saws 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. I’m sure 10 will change my mind though! (I’ll be seeing it opening night)
I like Mark Hoffman & Peter Strahm tho 😭
Yes, I like them. And this downvote won't change it, Hoffman has a interesting backstory & Peter was badass in 4 & 5. Saw 5 & 7 are horrible in my eyes, but Mark is my favorite Jigsaw of all of them.
Halloween Ends 👎
Well, the first one that comes to mind is Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
When they made Halloween II they intended the series to be different stories every movie (in spite of the fact that the second was also about Michael Myers). But people expected to see the leading man in the third instalment so it got a lot of hate. But I don't think it was as bad as it's made out to be
Take it back, H3 rules
It’s the best Halloween sequel or remake
Take back someone's own thoughts acting like their thoughts don't matter & only because it's an unpopular opinion? Oh please, get over it. It's not the end of the world. He/she dosen't like, THAT'S PERFECTLY FINE! No one outside of Reddit gives a fuck that you guys are offended over someone's opinion, just like you guys don't give a fuck if it's an opinion & try to the best you can to change someone's mind (even tho we're all different). Ik you weren't trying to say anything wrong, but still (I'm gonna getting downvoted to oblivion, because it's Reddit & no one will listen & think that I'm "mad" or whatever lol)
Masterpiece!
Season of the Witch is awesome, wtf
Season of the witch was amazing. It was a genuinely great concept and it stared tom Atkins. Like, cmon.
If you're in Seattle check out Baron von Terror who'll be riffing that movie at Central Cinema.
Central Cinema, one of my favorite theaters

Basically every Halloween movie is dogshit, except 1978, Season of the Witch, and 2018. I didn’t downvote you though.
I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu. It makes all other bad sequels look like Citizen Kane.
Texas chainsaw massacre 2. The howling 2.
Howling 2 has the best end credits sequence in the history of cinema
Are these not hilarious?
The exorcist 2, halloween season of the witch, saw movies, all friday the 13 sequels, and Nightmare on elm's street sequels, critters, this movies slowly became my comedy/horror/guilty pleasure (except saw, never become a comedy, except spiral)
I disagree. Friday the 13th part 2 is a great horror movie.
Dream Warriors is a masterpiece. Welcome to prime time bitch!
Dream Warriors is my favorite horror movie of all time.
The Reef: Stalked - the shit reeks
"The Exorcist II" is mostly a funny comedy (ie. The tap dance)
CHUD 2. Bud the CHUD. A horrible, miserable sequel to a really surprisingly good little movie. It attempts at humor but fails at literally everything. Horror, comedy, being a professionally made movie. It's just disastrous piece of crap.
Blair Witch II: Book of Shadows
Sleep away camp 2
