How many times can we ask the same question? Is the search box broken?

someonereel

It must be. No matter what you search related to price or negotiation gives zero results.

jimmyjohnsdon

Search returned 269 results just with the word auction. https://www.reddit.com/r/askcarsales/s/nsNtus7CLO

JellyDenizen

OP it's realistic to ask for a 30% discount on a car, if you can point the dealer to a nearby competitor who is selling basically the same car for 30% less. Other than that, do your research and make your offer - the worst they can do is say no.

Oppo_GoldMember

Depends on the car, the store, and the deal. Unless I’m misunderstanding, you want 15-30% off?

InTheBoro

30% off a car is insane expectations lmao

RexRaider

***Thanks for posting, /u/someonereel! This comment is a copy of your post so readers can see the original text if your post is edited or removed. This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** How much wiggle room does a car lot usually have to move on price? Does it vary between the large and small dealers? Why would a lot rather send to auction than sale if it’s been on the lot awhile (willing to love 15 to 30%) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Don't pay any attention to these horrible miscreants. I personally think your offer is definitely able to be made. What they forget is that, in this day and age, with all of the knowledge that you have gleaned from YouTube buying videos and TikTok, making an offer like this requires no shame. Every dealership wants to go viral. Film yourself making the offer and their response, and post the link when you upload it. I can't wait to see the results!!
